Stella's heart is set on this job
Carl may be a little older, and a lot more in control of his life, but it is Stella's determination to land, and keep the perfect job that sets this story in motion.
This quick read is quite rightly marked as book one in so much as it is clearly part of a larger story. It reaches a satisfying situation to pause at, being neither a done in one nor an agonizing cliffhanger.
This is... not meets girl / relationship established more than a getting to know the characters story, leaving me to wonder if I will come out of this feeling I barely know these two.
