“BETTER TOGETHER” part 1! Together again for the first time! Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. The core of the World's Greatest Heroes…but with a new Man of Steel, the bonds these three share will be tested and redefined by super-star writer/artist Francis Manapul. In this premiere issue, see the trio travel from Metropolis to Gotham City and beyond to learn what forces launched their heroic careers. But how will this journey of discovery lead them to a new threat?
Francis Manapul is a comic book artist living in Toronto, Canada currently working for DC comics. His list of credits include the forthcoming Adventure Comics, and Superman Batman. In the past he's worked on titles like Legion of Super-Heroes, Iron and the Maiden, Necromancer, Sept Guerrieres, Tomb Raider, Darkness, G.I Joe and of course Witchblade.
I was expecting some action but that didn't come. This issue just showed the reunion of Superman, Batman and Wonderwoman. The ending was obviously a cliffhanger.
Superman was nice. But Batman, as we know, was just rude. Don't know why he can't smile. I haven't seen him smiling. Nevertheless, it suits him. I liked the scene in which he was fired by the son of Superman by mistake. That was funny. I didn't know till yet Superman had a son. But it was good to read him. Hope this series will prove enjoyable for me.
Francis Manapul took the risk and gave us an unexpectedly quiet issue about the strongest and most well-known triumvirate in comics. The risk paid well, Trinity issue one is beautiful.
Thinking about it, who would have teamed-up with a (pre-New52) Superman who Bruce and Diana scarcely knew. So a dinner would be the best way for them to know each other, establish not just a team but true friendship, and what Manapul says in the comics: tear down walls. This may not be at the level of Alex Ross' witty and heartful lunch of the supertrio at a diner in Kingdom Come, but it serves the purpose of quickly building the foundation of DC's most iconic superheroes. I mean, Clark making fun of Bruce? That is gold.
Manapul's clever use of the color palette rings with happiness, sorrow and hope, but mostly hope. He is a great choice for Trinity, not just as an artist but also as a writer.
Trinity issue one is fresh, simple and humble. Francis Manapul sure knows how to start a series which is sure to become a great one.
Hard to believe one guy made this entire thing. The art is wonderful and the story does it justice... no pun intended. This could be the beginning of something special.
Wow what a great read, the graphics are amazing, and picking just three members of the justice league to form the trinity is also a great idea and i love it.
Superman, Wonder woman and Batman makes up the Trinity, and there is a new superman from another world who is married to Lois and have a son,When the old one is missing i so did not see that coming.
What's up with all of the weird endings from DC so far?
This issue was pretty standard, but I think this run should be pretty interesting! End aside, probably one of the best Rebirth #1's they've put out recently.
I am fine with superhero comics that have no action, but this was boring. Superman, Lois, and baby superman have dinner with Wonder Woman and Batman. That would be an awesome starting point, if the conversation was interesting, but it was boring. Art work okay, plot was dry as sandpaper.
The first comic to highlight the three greatest heroes of the DC comic universe. I liked the in-depth emotional exploration of the characters, with a tribute to Alan Moore's "For The Man Who Has Everything". Black Mercy is indeed a great tool to probe these large-than-life characters' strengths and weaknesses, and make them seem more real. I'm looking forward for more of these kinds of comics, because as awesome as hero vs hero themes are, they are really getting quite tiresome.

I am really excited for this series! So in this first issue Wonder Woman brings a giant-a$$ wild boar to Clark's house to eat for dinner and Batman wears a rainbow bat-suit to save Robin. Basically it's great and you should totally give it a read! (The two supermans thing is confusing as hell but luckily its not super important.) Happy reading!
This is so not what I was expecting when I bought this book. It was just... WOW. My mind was blown away by the storyline, the narrating by Lois, and the art was spectacular. Though a new Superman does worry me a bit but i'll give it a try.
This ruled. It’s so rad to get an issue solely focused on the relationship between these characters now that it’s been shaken up pretty heavily. Art was incredible and the story was an absolute page turner despite not being an action packed issue!
'Trinity #1' with script and art by Francis Manapul is a thing of quiet beauty. It's also a risk that I think pays off very well.
While most times, a first issue would launch with a big battle, this one starts with a dinner party. Lois has invited Wonder Woman and Batman over to their house, unbeknownst to Superman, for a chance for a friendship to build. Jon is so surprised over the visitors (Diana shows up with a dead boar on her shoulders as a gift) that he acts before thinking. This sets up some fun banter between Batman and Superman about training the young. There is also some tension between Lois and Wonder Woman. The issue ends on a weird note, but it's not enough to ruin the issue for me.
The cover to this issue is great, with our three prominent heroes in front and Diana's sword reflecting their greatest villains. I'm also blown away by someone who writes and illustrates their own work so deftly. The art fits the story very well. This was a good story.
I received a review copy of this issue from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this comic book.
This was frankly a long awaited issue , and the result were at least visually very pleasing .
The beginning of the new arc is often very confusing and slow , this issue dealt with the reunion of the Pre new 52 Superman and Lois with the Post new 52 Batman and Wonder woman , with wonder woman sharing he experiences and trouble with Lois and Superman recounting one of the silliest Batman adventure which Batman doesn’t recollect and finally a cliffhanger that all but confirms that the mystery behind the New 52 world creation would be unveiled by the Trinity in the Trinity issue.
For most part the issue seemed irrelevant as not much actually happened in it and yet the finale makes it seem like the Trinity is bound to be the most vital issue of the Rebirth title . The Art is superbly done and one can say that amongst the already talented members of the DC panel another contender has risen in Francis Manapul and Clay Mann to claim the title of the best artist around .
I haven't kept up with all the current stories of Batman and Superman, I have with Wonder Woman. So it took me a bit to figure out what was going on. I will say I really enjoyed this first issue. Clark and Lois felt right. The setting reminded me of Superman for all seasons. There was some hilarious moments with Bruce and Diana included in this. The artwork was beautiful, the colors were incredibly vibrant and pleasing to the eyes.
Well worth reading.
I received an advanced copy of this from NetGalley.com and the publisher
Finally something professional with quality artwork and writing. Also totally keeping up with the wtf ending of Rebirth titles so far, not at all complaining. Looking forward for more, it was refreshing to see the friendly side of Trinity. Reminded me how much reading I got to do. Thank you for making this happen.
With DC going through a transition period, much is made to recapture what made the Universe so great in the first place. To see the Trinity get back together is wonderful, as they sit down in plain clothes for a dinner party. It's captivating, interesting and wonderfully drawn.
A good lead in issue for this book. It shows Batman and Wonder Woman both trying to come to terms with both losing their friend and the 'new' guy taking his place.
