Billy Rhinestone: And The Fateful Find

Rate this book
The Billy Rhinestone fantasy series is a masterful melding of action, suspense, intrigue, mystery, and teen romance. When Billy and his best friend Max discover bizarre gemstones on a dead man during one of their boyish neighborhood adventures, their fates are forever changed. For no sooner than the gems make contact with their flesh they begin to manifest magical characteristics!

As the boys experiment with their newfound powers, they unknowingly attract the attention of the worst enemies imaginable who will stop at nothing to get the stones back. Inexperienced as the boys are, they must improvise to protect themselves, their families, and a first love from increasing perils. In so doing, they become unwitting key-players in a secret war against evil that’s been waging for millennia.

Billy Rhinestone compares in genre and feel to Brandon Mull’s best selling series, Fabelhaven, or Richard Paul Evans’ Michael Vey. If you loved Rob Reiner’s “Stand by me,” Richard Donner’s “Goonies,” or J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, you'll love “Billy Rhinestone!” It features the art of Brandon Dorman, #1 New York Times Bestselling artist. Included at the end is a sneak peek into Book 2!

Prepare to experience the nostalgia of first love with all of it’s emotional novelty; the thrill of life-threatening danger; the anxiety of not knowing who to trust; the reassurance and strains of a best friend relationship; the shock of uncanny evil; the inner turmoil of a degenerating soul seeking redemption; and an exciting new way to view the universe in which you live!

Billy Rhinestone: And the Fateful Find is the kind of book that pulls you in fast and doesn’t let go.

The story follows Billy and his best friend Max, two regular boys who are just out exploring like kids do. During one of their adventures, they come across something strange and dangerous, mysterious gemstones found on a dead man. When the boys touch the stones, their lives change forever. The gemstones give them incredible powers they don’t fully understand yet.

What makes this book really interesting is that Billy and Max aren’t trained heroes. They’re kids trying to figure out what’s happening while staying safe. As they test their new abilities, they attract dangerous enemies who want the gemstones and will do anything to get them. Suddenly, Billy and Max are not just protecting themselves, but also their families and the people they care about.

The book mixes adventure, suspense, friendship, and first love in a way that feels exciting but easy to follow. There are moments that feel intense and even a little scary, but they’re balanced with humour and heart. The friendship between Billy and Max feels real, and their reactions make sense for their age.

One of the best parts of this story is the message behind it. It shows that power comes with responsibility, that loyalty matters, and that growing up sometimes means making hard choices. It also reminds readers that courage doesn’t mean being fearless, it means standing up even when you’re afraid.

If you enjoy stories like Harry Potter, The Goonies, or Michael Vey, this book will feel familiar in a good way while still being its own thing. Billy Rhinestone feels like the beginning of something bigger, and it definitely makes you curious about what happens next.

This is a fun, fast-paced read with strong characters and a lot of imagination, especially for readers who love adventure, fantasy, and stories about ordinary kids facing extraordinary challenges.
