Death on Mt. Pleasant: A Mickke D Grand Strand Murder Mystery

Rate this book
In his latest adventure, "Death on Mt. Pleasant", we find our hero Mickke D back in his home town, where he is trying to help an old high school friend determine whether or not his friends sister's tragic death was an accident or a horrific homicide. As usual, he ends up hip-deep in bad guys and twisted plots along the way. Eventually returning to Myrtle Beach, he finds things are heating up there as well, and it's not the outside temperature. Has his old salvage friend TC finally discovered the location of the buried pirate treasure? Who else may be looking for the treasure? Has his old flame Beverly resurfaced and if so, how will he react? And last but not least, when he and TC end up in the Caribbean, is someone from his past out to end his life? If you enjoyed the first two books in the Mickke D Grand Strand Murder Mystery series, "Murder on the Front Nine" and "Cougars at the Beach", you will not want to miss this third action-packed thriller. A must read for your easy chair or your beach read bag.

A good mystery... was fun to read a mystery about the town I grew up in... Very accurate!

Only critique would be plugs for other books, and sub-plots with those other books - which you wouldn't get if only reading this book.

Loved this book. Since I live 25 mins from Lancaster and Ten minutes from Buckeye Lake I know all of the locations that took place in Ohio. I also have some knowledge of the Charleston area as I used to live there. Because of that this book held a lot of interest for me. There were lots of plot twists and unexpected things. Read it in less than 24 hours. Will definitely add his other from the series to my To Be Read stack.

Rated this book 4-stars because I enjoyed all the references to some of my favorite places in Lancaster. I haven't lived there for over 30 years, but McMillen took me home. The story was fun and easy to read.

Good Read

Maybe because this is based in my hometown, I found it a good read. A tad slow and predictable at times, but I enjoyed it.
