In this wedding-story picture book, Barbie is the maid of honor at her cousin's wedding. Her little sister Stacie is the flower girl. In spite of careful preparations and a sunny wedding day, Stacie tears her dress by mistake just before the ceremony. Poor Stacie. She is embarrassed and ashamed. Thanks to Barbie's quick thinking, Stacie's dress is repaired, and the wedding goes forward. As Stacie has learned, Barbie does not believe in throwing up her hands. A make-do solution can always be found.
In this book, Barbie provides advice on how to deal with the nervousness that comes with being a flower girl. She recounts the story of how she helped her sister Stacie handle pre-wedding flower-girl nerves. I quite enjoyed this picture book and loved the illustrations (and late 80's/early 90's fashion).
---------------------------------------------- Part of a personal challenge to read all of my boyfriend's and his sister's childhood books before we donate and give them away.
This Barbie book has really nice detailed illustrations and a real good story about how even if things don't go right or get messed up that it's nothing to stress over and you can always find a way to fix them.
