Rate this book
Two jobs, a ratty apartment, and a lonely bed. Jenna Howard’s life is one giant disappointment after another… Orphaned at five years old, Jenna survived the foster care system only to be rewarded with an apartment in the slum of New York City. She leaves her job at the diner to work evenings at a strip club to pay rent. Jenna starts to think maybe she’s meant to be alone forever, until one night a mysterious customer offers her a deal of a lifetime. Liam Stanford is the most eligible bachelor in New York City. He’s also a millionaire and womanizer… Liam’s father has finally decided to hand over the reins to the family company, but there’s a catch. Liam has to prove he’s matured enough to handle the job, and that includes finding a steady girlfriend. Liam isn’t willing to lose his opportunity on a technicality, so he finds a pretty girl working the bar at one of the local strip clubs and offers her a deal. Jenna must agree to marry him for one year. Then, once Liam has control of the company, they’ll part ways…and he’ll give her one million dollars. That kind of money could change Jenna’s life. She could leave New York and finally go to college… With nothing to lose but her pride, Jenna accepts Liam’s deal, but she isn’t willing to accept Liam’s coldhearted playboy routine. There is more to him than his hard exterior suggests. Will Jenna be able to peel back the armor and finally get to know the man behind the suit, or will their deal be nothing more than an… Accidental Proposal?

The storyline reminded me of The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield but in a weakened version.
Most of the story felt unrealistic. Sometimes some things happened in the story that doesn't have a good reason and even for no reason at all.
I'm not saying all of it was bad. It had really good funny moments but if the story had been written better, stronger and more reasonable it could have been a great book. She just needs to work harder for her book.

This book was picked for me in a challenge to read. Jenna Howard is a 19 year old working two jobs to pay rent and bills. When she was 5 years old her mother left her so she grew up in foster care. While working as a bartender she meets Liam Stanford. Liam is hot sexy and rich and I hated him he needs a wife so he take over his father's company. Liam offers her a million dollars to marry him and at the end of one year divorce and she gets the money. I wanted so much more out of this book. Jenna signed the contract without reading it if she leaves before the year is up she has to pay Liam the million so she is stuck. Liam was being cruel to her for no reason. I also didn't like the fact that it was no sex in this book well he did bring someone else home. I did like Liam's friend Lennon she was very helpful. This book also ended funny not a cliffhanger but wanting more so I bought the rest of this series. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book and I hope its spicer.

No logro conectar aun con ninguno de los personajes, y la trama es un poco, demasiado forzada y predecible. Además de no ser autoconclusivo, daré mi opinión al terminar la trilogía completa.

In her nineteen years of existence, all Jenna Howard did was work to make the ends meet. But the ever lonely girl gets stunned when billionaire Liam Standford comes to her with a proposal she cannot reject. After all, getting a million dollars at the end of their fake marriage could be a big thing for someone who barely had the money for food.

This is the first book in the trilogy. I've read this trilogy a number of times but I re-read it to review each book separately.

The book is about a billionaire, Liam Standford, proposing Jenna to be his fake fiancee and then fake wife, in order to settle down in his father's eyes and overtake the company as the CEO

Jenna was fun to read. The times she felt embarrassed for not having money, or not knowing what to do was real and on perfect point. From five to nineteen years of age, she was strong, working two jobs, coming home to no one waiting for her, no mother who would caress her head and make her feel good, no father to help her believe in herself. All her emotions were very valid.

This book of the trilogy was more about Jenna and I loved how we got to know about her slowly and gradually along with instances of other characters.

Liam Standford deserves a punch in his face, with a chair. He frustrated me so much when he spoke rudely to Jenna, called her daddy's spoilt brat, insulted her in front of Blake and Lennon or when he brought over a girl. He did have his soft moments with his friends and family, but his coldness towards Jenna irked me. However, I feel this was because I read from Jenna's point of view and not Liam. I know Liam's gonna redeem himself back because of his soft moments and actions, he is not going to hold himself back soon.

All the other character were amazing with very distinct personalities, my favourite was princess Sky.

Overall, The book was enjoyable to read and I am hooked to it because of the slow-burn romance and various questions in my mind regarding many things. I cannot stop myself from not binging the book.

I haven't included many things in the review because they were to be mentioned in the review of the second and third books. Please note that this review is solely for the FIRST BOOK in the trilogy.

until the next book,

Would give it -3 stars. Quite few typos. Plus things that don't add up like she dated a guy for a year, but than at another part it says she's never kissed a guy? I mean c'mon.

Liam is an 5star A**hole. He is arrogant and treats Jenna really bad, but she's being all forgiving (again for someone with her past and life, wouldn't she say "F* you" and fight back? Or is she just so used to people treating her like garbage that she doesn't care any more?

And that friend from the diner, she is supposed to be the closest (best)friend that Jenna has, but yet we only hear about he once, after Jenna quits, and that is when Jenna goes to pick up her last pay-check at the diner and after that NOTHING! Jenna doesn't even text her after she gets a phone. (oh well we do "hear" about her, when Jenna realizes she told her about the deal and she wasn't supposed to)

The ending so stupid it just stops! It feels like the writer thought "hmm I should make this story into more books so I can make more money" instead of trying to make the story good, I haven't read the 2 or third book (I barely made it through this one) but I feel like it all could have been just one or two books, and that the story would have been better. A lot in this book could have been written out and there is probably also a lot in the second book that could, so they could have just been one book.

Even thought the storyline is used (maybe even overused) I wanted to read this book and I had high hopes, but they were crushed by the typos and the story. And sadly enough also by the characters. I can't recommend. But luckily we all have the right to have different taste so I'm sure someone else would love this story.

Jenna Howard has hard a life, at 5 she was left at an orphanage by her mother, and placed in a home where she lived until she was old enough to legally emancipate herself and then she began working hard to provide for herself working as a waitress by day and a bar tender by night; even though it was hard going she wasn't going to take hand outs and or borrow money... then one night she catches the eye of Liam Stanford the most eligible bachelor who proposes to her.... Well sort of... Liam needs a wife and Jenna is the exact opposite to the girls Liam's father and his family are used to seeing him with and that's what he needs to make his father believe he's changed and he's settling down which will make his father give Liam the reigns of the billion dollar family business. Liam only needs Jenna to be his wife for a year and she will receive more money then she could make in the current jobs she's working.

Jenna's torn between taking up the offer and keeping her moral values, but at the end of the day there's so much she could do with the money... but is it worth it when Liam is cold and mean to her and the exact opposite with his family and close friends, how would a marriage work if Liam is this way with her for a year? Can she put up with someone who wants nothing to do with her and treats her with such disregard?

I felt for Jenna in this story, I wanted to like Liam, but I couldn't, he was arrogant, rude and obnoxious. I liked this story, but I failed to realize it wasn't a stand alone.

Really good book but I have it four stars instead of five because...
There are quite a few typos.
She is 19, dated a guy for a year in high school and worked in a strip club but has never even kissed a guy??
That ending. It wasn’t an ending, it just stopped. No cliffhanger or anything. It’s like it just ended halfway through randomly.
Liam is annoying. So far I do not like him. He is so mean to her and then she gets over it just cause he smiles at her. 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

The starting seemed a little forced to me.

Basically Liam is a jerk who hasn't asked any questions about what Jenna thinks of the contract, and he's rude and obviously stuck up, but that's not much bad since I'm hoping for character development.
Jenna is nice and young, but it seems that she's already if not in love then she has some feelings for Liam.

She's forgiving him for everything even when he should apologize for being as such.

I'm really looking forward for character development.

This book was all over the place for me. It lacked characterization, the chemistry between the two main characters were missing and also the progression of the relationship was not done very well. Also the story needed a lot of editing in my opinion. In all, it wasn't for me and I am so disappointed because I feel like this book had so much potential. I would not be continuing with this series sadly.

No real character building that could see
And the author couldn’t decide if it was Lilly or Lily for the mm characters mother.
She also did some strange reintroduction of his family as if we the reader had forgotten who they were and what they were from the previous chapter??
So it’s a no from me

Greatly in love with this series. A crazy proposal leads to a whole world of adventure and a roller coaster of emotions, and a very lovely pushing and pulling between the main characters. Once again I have nothing but applause for Kenadee Bryant. (This was actually the first book I read from her)

Liam and Jenna

Jenna is 19 year old and Liam is a rich handsome obsessive command male. Jenna is a good natural kind sassy female. This is a contract fake marriage. Liam choice was Jenna in a club to be his wife.

The storyline is similar to other books I have read. But it is a fun fast read, and it leaves you wanting more... guess I'll have to read the next one to find out what happened

I should have known better than to start a wattpad book... Nope, Wattpad free stories are better than Wattpad paid stories and published stories. It's an honest opinion.
