Savage Silence: A Dire Wolves Mission

Rate this book
There's no escaping a Dire Wolf on the hunt... Dire Wolf Thaus preferred the silence, having spent most of his time alone as the weaponry expert of his pack. But a mission outside of his expertise will challenge him more than he ever expected and threaten more than just his life. Some memories are too horrific to forget. When Ariel's fragile balance is upended, she'll do whatever it takes to stay alive. Including running off with a man who scares her almost as much as he intrigues her. An unexpected hero and a woman with scars deeper than one can see crash together on a mountainside fraught with its own dangers. In the world of the Dire Wolves, an Omega shewolf is a blessing none of them deserves. But when an angel sings his name, Thaus will go to hell and back to keep her safe and at his side. A storyteller from the time she could talk, USA Today bestselling author Ellis Leigh grew up among family legends of hauntings, psychics, and love spanning decades. Those stories didn’t always have the happiest of endings, so they inspired her to write about real life, real love, and the difficulties therein. From farmers to werewolves, store clerks to witches—if there’s love to be found, she’ll write about it. Ellis lives in the Chicago area with her husband, daughters, and a German Shepherd that refuses to leave her side.

I'm Definitely Picking This Series Back Up

4.5 Stars.

Supposedly this is my 2nd time reading this book. But I don't remember ever reading it!
I loved it and thinking about rereading the first 3 books again. It was that good!
I barely remember anything from the first three and I'm definitely going to get the rest of this series.
There was suspense, lots of action, fantastic main characters and just the right amount of sex scenes.
Thaus was amazing with Ariel. How he treated her and understood her aversion to touch from the hell she went through. Just melted my heart.
And how hard Ariel worked to get past her problems so they could have something meaningful with each other. Her strength was inspiring.
I'm eager to read the next in the series but I'm definitely going to do a quick reread of the first 3.

There's dispute between packs over an old contract promising a shewolf, and Thaus is called to broker it. Which is unusual, since he's not exactly known for his diplomacy, and more about his rage, silence, and making things that go ka-boom. Then it turns out the shewolf is an Omega, and Thaus is more than ready to accept. Because no one hurts an Omega, and no one makes her do something against her will.

Ariel has been through hell and back and is determined never to be owned by anyone. Unfortunately, she might not have much of a say in the matter since the Alpha of the neighboring pack has set his eyes on her. But before she can contemplate running, the fates intervene...In the dark, hulking form of her mate.

What a ride. Ms Leigh has yet to make a wrong move in this series. This fourth installment was particularly intense and particularly heartbreaking due to the topic.

I loved Thaus, I loved Ariel, and I loved these two together. And I loved their story, how this hulking behemoth of a man, the scary f***** from the last few books turned into a tender, caring, gentle hulking behemoth of a man for one woman and one woman only. The angel to his demon. I'm not closer to understanding the rage inside the man, I was hoping of getting some answers as to his freaky outbursts in the previous books, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention. Or maybe it was the noise that got to him, since he obviously preferred silence and solitude. Oh, well, it doesn't matter. I loved the guy.
Ariel was also a force to be reckoned with. Her inner strength, her stubbornness to stay alive no matter what, that core of steel that shone through no matter what panic or fear she felt, was humbling to read about. Both heartbreaking and empowering. We only get to read her "censured" thoughts and recounts of what she's been through, but even those brief glimpses are horrifying in their realism. It wasn't a fictional recount, it could happen in real life (it probably is). It could happen to anyone, and anybody should be so lucky to get through an ordeal like that with just a smidgen of sanity.
And the way they fit together...At first, after getting to know Thaus' rage-filled outbursts and outright brutality, I had no idea how this pairing could possibly work, but turns out it did, because Thaus isn't always "Thaus angry", he has a softer side, a side not many (if any at all) knew about. He's loyal to a fault, which his brothers know, but I had no idea he could be such a marshmallow. Ariel truly brought out the best in him. God bless the woman.
Their love story, because I cannot categorize it any other way, was beautiful to read, sweet, sad, heart-rendering, and hot in equal measure. I loved every aspect of it.

Now, the suspense was intense. One could feel it in the air, shimmering, circling, waiting to strike. It was a palpable force, always there, keeping the characters on the edge. And when the enemy struck, although the action scenes didn't pack quite the punch as in the previous books, since they happened on the sidelines, that final leap (literal) off the cliff truly was chilling. Vivid, intense, gripping. It felt like I was there, and that's how you write action scenes.

P.S. I'm looking forward to the next three books. I hope there will be the next three books. I want to read more about Phego (which is, according to the end of this book, next...when?! when?!), I'm thinking Deus follows, since he barely (and for the first time in the flesh) made an appearance in this one, and Luc, the boss, is probably the last (please, please, write about Luc, Ms Leigh). I can't wait for that last one, because I'm thinking the final battle will be the battle to end all battles. With as much foreshadowing about the seven only fighting together a few times, when it truly meant the difference between life or death, I bet that final book will feature such a situation. We're talking about the Dires here, and Luc being their de facto Alpha. I mean, c'mon, it can't be anything else. Oh, please, please, please, make it so. I'm fangirling already.

SILENCE IS GOLDEN!!!
Title: Savage Silence: A Dire Wolves Mission
Series: The Devil's Dires
Author: Ellis Leigh
Designation: Book Four of Series, Full-Length Standalone, No Cliffhanger
My Rating: FIVE SINFULLY DELICIOUSLY STARS*****
Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! We have a new Dire Wolves mission and a hot new hero! *swoon* Ellis Leigh totally rocked my world - AGAIN with Savage Silence, the fourth riveting standalone release in her sexy The Devil's Dires, and folks, this series just keeps getting better and better! Yeah, yeah, I know I say the same thing every time, but only because it's true! I've been a diehard Ellis Leigh fan for several years and eagerly await each new release. For anyone familiar with Leigh's work, you may be asking yourself: Why does The Devil's Dires sound familiar? Well, there's actually a very good reason. The Dire Wolves were first introduced as minor characters in Leigh's Feral Breed Motorcycle Club Series, so we've known of the existence of this small select group of wolf shifters for quite some time.We just didn't know a whole lot about them other than they acted as the Cleaners for the NALB (North American Lycan Brotherhood). While the Feral Breed MC members act as the enforcers or police for Blassius 'Blaze' Zenne, president of the NALB, the Cleaners are an elite strategic group created by Blaze as a cover for the seven-member pack of Dire Wolves, a dangerous breed long thought to be extinct. And folks, these wolf shifters are tougher than tough, badder than bad, meaner than mean and better than the best. They live hard and fight harder. But after a lonely millennia of existence, none of these wolf shifters have ever found their mates - until now.

Series Premise:
The Dires are all handsome, sexy wolf-shifters, but unlike other wolves, the Dire Wolves are a breed among themselves, one shrouded in mystery and now almost extinct with only a small group of seven known to still exist. And all seven of their pack make up an elite team of soldiers, trackers and hackers who are by far the biggest, baddest, and toughest of any species known to man or wolf. They are better than the best, called upon when the talent and skill of the Feral Breed's finest fall short to successfully accomplish the mission. The Dire Wolves submit to no one, but they do work for Blasius 'Blaze' Zenne, President of the North American Lycan Brotherhood which is the ruling power over all shifters in the country. Their breed owes no loyalty to the Feral Breed Brothers but the only man these Dires respect outside their race is Blasius Zenne. They are loyal to Blaze, not the NALB. They answer only to him when he calls, not because they have to, but because they respect him, choose to bend to his authority and obey his orders. Their duties fall under the purview of Blaze's Cleaners, a unit used to solve certain problems when unparalleled skill and lethal action are required. As the series progresses, we get to know all seven of the Dire Wolves but each release is a standalone story featuring primarily one member of the team as he embarks on a perilous mission, made even more complicated when he meets his fated mate, the one woman the universe created just for him. Each of these highly principled wolf shifters must face their destinies while their hearts battle between duty to their new found mates, and duty to their mission, as well as to their breed. One Brotherhood... One mission... One man... One mate... One fate... So buckle up, my lovelies, it's a wild ride!

But, as always, I digress so let's talk about Savage Silence. The story is exciting, imaginative, compelling, fast paced, action packed, suspenseful, sexy, romantic and exceptionally well crafted and edited. The narrative is beautifully written with a third person perspectives from the two protagonists, Dire Wolf loner Sathaus, aka Thaus, and lovely but traumatized Omega shewolf and doctor Ariel. The dialogue is smart, raw, intense, seductive, well executed and flows effortlessly. I love the premise for this series as well as the fascinating world Leigh has created, but it's the magnificent cast of characters who literally explode from the pages and steal my heart. Leigh takes no prisoners in Savage Silence, and I do mean that quite literally! I'm totally smitten with Thaus and the entire seven member pack comprising The Devil's Dires! Although it's hard to pick favorites with any of Leigh's books, I do believe Savage Silence may be my very favorite to date. All the stories of The Devil's Dires have been emotionally engaging, but in Savage Silence, Leigh not only tugged on my heartstrings, she ripped my heart right out of my chest. I was immediately drawn into this story by Thaus and Ariel, and quickly became emotionally invested in the lives of these two remarkable characters. There are so many elements that make Leigh's stories great and she skillfully combines them all to craft a riveting paranormal tale filled to the brim with danger, drama, suspense, passion, and romance.

Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! I loved the world building and the strong, courageous, larger than life characters Leigh created for this series. It's a standalone read but still interconnected with her other Feral Breed characters and series, so it's familiar, comfortable and easy to follow. I was drawn into the story in the first few pages of the book and quickly found myself totally immersed in the lives of the characters. I also loved the cover as well as how well the story was presented, crafted, written, edited and formatted. Leigh is an extraordinarily gifted storyteller and skilled wordsmith - a true master of her trade, always giving readers the perfect combination of danger, action, suspense, humor, romance and sex. And, of course, leaves us gasping for our next breath and begging for more! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some of the steamiest, dreamiest sex scenes - ever! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I loved this story and the characters. I cried for them, empathized with them, laughed with them, cheered for them, shook my fists in anger as they fought their enemies.....and loved every single minute! This story was captivating, riveting, emotional, gripping, passionate, romantic, sexy and delightfully entertaining, which definitely equals five sinfully sexy stars in my book!!!

In Savage Silence, Book Four of the series, Dire Wolf Thaus is contacted by Dante, mate and right-hand man for Blasius Zenne, President of the NALB, with a mission of utmost importance. Thaus is needed to oversee a contract negotiation between Alpha Lathan of the Kawauhl Pack and Alpha Chilton of the Glaxious Pack. (If the name Chilton and Glaxious pack seem familiar, it should. We were first introduced to the sleezy Alpha Chilton in The Gathering Series by Leigh.) Contract dispute? What the heck does Thaus know about contracts and negotiations? Absolutely nothing! His skills and talents lean more toward weaponry and blowing things up. But Thaus soon learns from Dante, this is no ordinary contract and no ordinary dispute. Apparently, Alpha Chilton is calling in his 200 year old marker to claim a shewolf from the Kwauhl Pack and use her for a forced mating. But not just any shewolf... he's claiming an Omega shewolf. Now that got his attention, and changes everything. Omegas are fierce, strong shewolves who possess a special power to strengthen a pack and bind them together. There are only seven Dire wolves left in the world and none female, but Thaus and his six brothers have long held the belief that the Omegas are in reality their female counterparts, their sisters, and as such are considered to be theirs to protect. Of course, the fact that three of his brothers have recently found their mates and all three are Omegas, only serves to reinforce their belief. So, if this case involves an Omega shewolf, he will gladly protect her with his life. Normally, these women are honored and revered, but they're also coveted, stolen, enslaved, mistreated and bred against their will by unscrupulous, evil men whose only goal is to use them for power, which Thaus has recently seen first hand. He and his brothers had helped Blaze and the Feral Breed to free a group of kidnapped, enslaved and abused Omegas, and defeat the heinous men responsible for the travesty. Now, Dante is asking him to help another Omega, one who had actually been a victim of the nightmare he'd witnessed only a few short years ago. Thaus was a man of few words who enjoyed the peace and solitude of his cabin located in the mountains of the Northwest United States, but as luck would have it, both packs were located fairly close to him. Or maybe it's not luck at all...maybe it's fate...and maybe, just maybe, another Dire wolf is about to meet his mate. Oh my! It only takes one look at the beautiful Omega shewolf Ariel for Thaus to know that Ariel is his fated mate, and after a millenia of waiting, he would become the fourth of his Dire brothers to find their mate with an Omega, who also named after an angel just like the other three. Coincidence? I think not! But things just got a lot more complicated when Alpha Chilton refuses to back down. Forced mating??? No freaking way! Ariel is his to claim! Unfortunately, in order to claim her as his mate, he'd first have to convince her to trust him enough to allow him to touch her. Poor Ariel is suffering from PTSD as a result of her abduction and abuse, and refuses to allow anyone to even get near her, much less touch her. Oh dear! What's a Dire Wolf to do? Will Thaus be able to convince the emotionally challenged Ariel that she belongs with him? Will he ever be able to touch his mate? And can he save her from a despicable, malevolent Alpha determined to claim her for himself? We'll see! No spoilers from me but I will say this...Handsome, sexy and very determined Dire Wolf-check! Beautiful, stubborn and distrusting Omega shewolf-check! Danger, drama, betrayal, action and a new, but old malevolent enemy-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance, steamy, dreamy sex and one Dire Wolf determined to claim his mate-you bet! That and a whole lot more!

Thaus has taken on many challenges over and over, but his biggest challenge yet remains in his newly found mate Ariel.

The weapon master of the Dire Wolves may be good at blowing stuff up or dealing with arsenal for missions however he wasn't prepared for the threat to his mate or the fine line he has to tread from the scars of her past.

Ariel is an Omega that was once kidnapped and tortured has has the everylasting scars inside and out. She doesn't like to be touched, sudden movements, or be around anything that triggers her memories. Now she has an Alpha demanding a forced mating with her and Alpha Chilton won't take no for an answer.

This can be read as a stand-alone but it is better and fully enjoyed if you have read previous books in the series or her other series. They are all connected at some point.

Beware reading this is you have issues with rape and the PTSD trauma that comes with surviving it. There is no actual rape portrayed but it is there in context of memories, flashbacks, and vague retelling.
The story does end happily after Thaus and Ariel work for their mating and heal.

I received an ARC for my honest review.

5 Healing Stars

Thaus biggest challenge is........his mate Ariel!!

Thaus is weapon master of the Dire Wolves. He is good at hardcore missions but he was not prepared for the threat to his mate or her past.

Ariel is an Omega that was once kidnapped and tortured. She likes to keep thing to herself because any could trigger her memories. Nobly one wolf cause help her heal.

Savage Silence

Book 4 in the Dire Wolves series brings back the stolen Omega incident from the first book. The slow acceptance of the mate bond helps relieve some of the ptsd the Omega is struggling with. Nice quick read.

Break Through!!!

Thaus the silent yet most sensitive Dire Wolf shifter alive, we met him in the first book, SAVAGE SURRENDER and we got to see some of his layers throughout the previous books. He didn't like to mingle romantically with human females. But when it came to the Omega women, he would give his life in order to protect them.

When he was giving the mission to broker a contract negotiation between the Glaxious pack and the Kwauhl pack. What Thaus didn't expect was to find out that his mate was caught in the middle of what was going on.

Ariel a shewolf and Omega of the Kwauhl was emotionally and physically scarred, she finally found a pack that accepted her for who she was. But unknown to her, danger was lurking around her because of a two hundred year old deal.

She had been kidnapped, tortured and went through so much that it nearly broke her but she was stronger than most thought. When the sociopath Alpha of the Glaxious pack wanted to claim her as his own against her will. Thaus made sure she was safe.

Despite knowing that Thaus was her mate, Ariel was still against the idea of him touching her, she was broken. Thaus didn't push her to do anything she wasn't ready for, he gave her the space she needed to heal.

He wanted to know Ariel better and understand why she'd built walls around herself.. As he began to break through those say walls little by little, Thaus found himself falling deeply in love with his mate. Same goes for Ariel who came to know a side of Thaus that awakened something in her, she thought she lost.

Danger found them, but the enemy underestimated the length Thaus would go to protect Ariel. Along with his Dire brothers, he showed their enemies why they were a force to be reckoned with.

SAVAGE SILENCE is the fourth installment in Ellis Leigh's THE DEVIL'S DIRES series. This book didn't disappoint, I've wanted Thaus' story from the moment he was introduced to us. It was magnificent, beautiful and it pulled at my heartstrings. Ellis Leigh delivered another rocking novel.

A Dires Mission Not To be Missed!

Book 4 of The Devil’s Dires is arguably the most emotional of the series yet. While three of his Dire brethren have found their fated mates, weapons expert, Thaus, holds no such aspirations. He is a loner, and while maybe not content, he is resolved to live and run in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, leaving only when his brothers need his support, or to handle business for the NALB.

It is on one such NALB assignment to “broker a contract”, (and Thaus cannot understand why he, a Dire, was sent on such a trivial mission) that Thaus finds out the focus of the contract, a displaced Omega, is in fact his fated mate!

With one pack trying to protect her and another trying to claim her, all Omega Ariel wants is to be left alone. Held captive and horribly abused by rogue shifters, Ariel trusts no one; she will never again be dominated by anyone; she can’t stand to be touched by anyone; and despite the agonizing effects the call to mate with the towering shifter sent to mediate have on her, Ariel knows she can only remain safe…and free…if she runs.

Thaus is devastated not only by not being able to claim his mate, but also by the depth of her trauma. His instincts make him want to find and kill those responsible for Ariel’s pain, but those same instincts tell him that something is off about the pack trying to claim Ariel…and trouble is coming. Alerting the other Dires, Thaus takes Ariel to his mountain retreat – after she agrees, of course – and reinforces his compound, hoping his brothers arrive before the trouble does.

Though Ariel’s trauma runs deep, she is still unable to fully resist the mating call, and a slow, hesitant dance of sexual exploration begins between the two shifters. Ariel is amazed not only at Thaus’ willingness to allow her to test and reclaim her sexuality, but at his patience and gentleness. Finding out Thaus is a Dire however, makes Ariel wonder if she can reconcile the gentle man she’s falling in love with, and the savage beast who shares his soul.

Trouble does finally show up in an unexpected way, and when Ariel is taken, the Dire in Thaus takes over.

Another well-written installment to the series, with good detailed attention given to a character who has suffered serious sexual abuse. This is a Dires mission not to be missed.

Enjoy!

Our Omega is threatened, again. She's strong but terrified. Thaus is dumbstruck but determined she's never threatened again. Secrets are revealed and bad guys removed with prejudice. All together another great ending, can't wait for the next one.

*****WoW****** I'm hot and breathless****** The most fabulous #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ever to be written*******Ms. Ellis Leigh****has written a Phenomenally***Stupendously***Explosive, ***Must Read***which in truth****should be  ******* #100Stars******As for the Series well *****A Dire Wolves Mission****The Devil's Dires*****is most definitely a MUST READ. Ms. Ellis is one of my Golden Author's and when you read the
Book/Series you will understand exactly why..
The Kwauhl's Alpha Lathan is Ariel's Protector in the Kwauhl Pack living on the camp grounds of Camp Kwauhl. This camp was there bread and butter and for humans to have a wonderful time with adventure and nice vacation spot in the West Coast.
Alphas Chilton is a very poor leader, keeping the Glaxious Pack, living in despicable conditions. All he cares about is getting the Omega for himself and than the pack.
Cleaner Sathaus aka: Thaus was called in to do a mission by Dante who is part of a triad with President Blaius Zenne of the NALB. He wants Thaus to go and broker a contract negotiation, Thaus is a weaponry expert anywhere from hand guns to C4 not a negotiator. He should deny doing this, than Dante said the magic words "Omega",
"Forced Mating". No one will touch a hair on any Omega. Than the man who is always silent, especially around people took the job.
A broker meeting was called with both Alphas, Thaus and the Omega. Silently he watched the Alphas bicker when a pissed off she-wolf walks in. Immediately the bond started.
Ariel is a she-wolf Doctor to Humans and Shifters, an Omega, plus she has an angel name this alone spoke Dire Wolf. Broken, from the abuse, rape, tortured and being chained she escaped these sick men at Merriweather. Ariel is a very strong she-wolf who is just to broken to mate anyone. Even her mate. I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.

Absolutely LOVE Thaus! I could go on and on, you MUST read this one. I have never had a story replay in my head over and over like this one does. I can visually picture it like a movie and it is on instant replay. And the cliff/ocean scene, can't stop thinking about the choice Ariel felt she had to make and Thaus not close enough to stop it.

Thaus is a Dire Wolf that is sent to oversee a contract dispute involving a she wolf and two neighboring packs. The she wolf is an Omega, which to a Dire Wolf is family, and he will do whatever it takes to protect her.

Ariel is an Omega wolf that had been held prisoner for years and escaped. She has a lot of scars and absolutely can not endure anyone touching her. She finds a home in a pack with an alpha that is caring and where she doesn't have to be afraid....that is until the neighboring alpha wants to invoke a contract made a hundred years ago between the then alphas giving them free pick of an unmated female, and Ariel is the female he wants.

The NALB is asked to assist in the contract dispute and sends Thaus to do it. When Ariel storms into the room announcing she refuses to go everything changes.....Thaus and Ariel both realize they are mates. Thaus is huge and intimidating and scares Ariel, but she is also drawn to him and inside knows that he will not hurt her.

Thaus will do whatever it takes to make his mate feel safe and protected with him. Even if that means spending the rest of his life with her in company only and never actually touching her. The mating pull is hard on both of them, and Ariel wants to touch and be touched by Thaus, but doesn't know if she will ever be able to get past the fear caused by her captors/abusers.

Thaus is a strong, silent, cuddly giant, and Ariel, well, she is absolutely amazing. She is SO strong. She went through hell, but with Thause as her mate she can overcome anything!

Well done Ellis Leigh!! Can't wait for the next Dire Wolf story.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Savage Silence: A Dire Wolves Mission (The Devil's Dires #4) by Ellis Leigh
I bought this book from Amazon.
My heart. OMG I thought that Levi was going to be my favorite but nope Thaus is my favorite. Now as I type this I worry if Phego’s wont steal me away in the next book???
Thaus is totally rough and gruff which is why I loved him so much. He is a broody grumpy guy who is kinda wondering if this mating thing his brothers have found is really all that. He is watching and wondering but he is not a talkative guy. Loyal to the core but very much enjoys silence. When he NALB sends him, the brute force guy, to help 2 alpha’s deal with a contract disagreement he is a bit stunned. Then he jumps at the chance because there is an Omega who is in the middle of the disagreement.
Ariel is broken. She has survived and is just living day by day. She has been through so much and will not be someone’s trophy because she is an Omega. When she and Thaus see each other and the bond takes hold, she FREAKS OUT!! Have you SEEN that giant man??? Ariel is worried but chooses to go with Thaus to stay safe.
Thaus is stunned and will go at a snails pace to keep his mate happy and allow her time to build trust. They are slow going and starting to find a “safe zone” when the bad guys come to claim her from him.
The story was amazing. My favorite of the series so far. Thaus is so SWEET and gently with her even when he is killing the enemy to protect his Ariel, his mate. I had lots of SWOONING parts. I was like “get him girl!! Claim your mate already!!” The chemistry is THICK and the couple made my heart sing when they started taking baby steps toward their HEA.

Thaus is a silent type. Which doesn’t mean he’s creepy. Well, maybe a little, to those who don’t know him and his origins. But really, if you come across a huge guy, broody and silent – wouldn’t you find him creepy?

So Thaus is in his cabin, living life, trying to endure the pain in his shoulder (he was hurt during the fight to save Amy, Levi’s girl). And then he gets a call from Dante. Since a direct call is not common, he’s immediately clued in to the fact this is a special mission. And special it is.

Thaus is sent to be a buffer of a sort between two packs, one claiming a female as fulfillment of an ancient contract. In actuality, the Dire’s presence is required as protection of the female. An omega.

Dun dun dunnnn….

We all know by now the omegas are considered to be of Dire descent, which makes them pack, which means anyone who’s threatening them – is in deep shit!

When Thaus first sees Ariel, he knows. He’s found his fated mate.

**Cue squeeeeee**

Ariel has been living as a free (ish) shiter female for about 3 years now, having escaped the torture/rape camps the omegas were freed from right around the battle in Merriweather (sp). She can’t handle being touched, especially by another male, and is especially jumpy around the claiming pack’s alpha.

So it’s a surprise when Thaus offers her the choice to leave her current adoptive pack on her own or go with him – she chooses Thaus (yay!!).

And as they reach his cabin, their sanctuary, that’s when shit hits the fan. As it turns out, the vicious alpha claiming Ariel has a few hidden cards up his sleeve.

One think I love about Ellis Leigh's books are the Alpha Males who are so compassionate. Before I have to say my favorite Alpha male was Rebel, but Thaus is now my favorite!
Over the course her series Leigh has amassed this great group of not only heroes, but heroines and Ariel has to be one of the most courageous.
After being kidnapped and held captive, during which she was raped and tortured Ariel became very weary of people. Thaus comes to settle a dispute over a forced mating.
That is when Thaus and Ariel meet and despite growing desires he ALWAYS makes sure she is comfortable. When the Alpha wanting to claim Ariel comes for her they are all in for the fight of their lives.

One of the best parts of this book is the delicacy taken with Ariel. There is a very believable progression of Ariel's journey from a very fear driven person to a person who gradually lets Thaus in and becomes more open to human interaction. The thing that makes that most believable is that at the end she isn't all of the sudden cured and perfect. She still has struggles because she went through something very traumatic.

Thaus was a great hero. I loved how he knew from he first moment what Ariel needed. He didn't try to push her into their mating and no matter how much it hurt him he made sure everything they did went at her pace so she was comfortable with him. He protected and cared for Ariel and Leigh did a beautiful job in pairing them together.

Defiantly worth the read and would very much recommend her Feral Breeds Series and the previous books in the Devils Dire's Series.

This was fantastic! I’ve been wanting to get to know Thaus better for some time, and this was my chance.

He’s the quiet one of his group. Efficient in explosives and likes to be away from humans. Which is why he's completely surprised when he’s called into to assist in a contract negotiation between two neighboring packs over claiming a female.

Thaus understands quickly the reasoning, though. The shewolf is another Omega. Going in, he doesn’t expect for much to happen, but when he sees Ariel for the first time, everything changes.

She’s his fated mate, but she her scars run deep. Not only is she an Omega, she’s one that was taken during the kidnappings years before and was raped and tortured.

The subject matter is handled brilliantly by Ellis Leigh. There’s angst and heartache, but the bond between Thaus and Ariel is never in question. They work through everything together. Thaus is incredible when it comes to helping Ariel.

When the pack that was supposed to claim Ariel get within striking distance of finding them, Thaus and his packmates, Mammon and Phego, will do whatever it takes to protect her. They don’t count on Ariel doing whatever she has to to make sure she never goes back with the same people who hurt her in the first place.

If you’re not reading this series, you really need to be! The writing is really outstanding, and I love the world the author has created!

My favorite couple in the series - love and strength

I loved Thaus and Ariel’s intense, fast paced, swoony emotional story. It gave me all the feels. Thaus is the biggest cinnamon roll ever. At its heart, this book is a story of damaged and bruised but not broken people who find their way together by owning their choices, recognizing their scars, embracing life, and deciding to still keep living. It’s a story about the power of choice. Ariel is an Omega who was held prisoner, tortured and bred but she escaped. Now free, she is a physician living cautiously with a wolf pack but her trauma causes her to recoil from touch. Thaus is a legendary Dire Wolf and is asked to help settle a contract dispute where Ariel is the prize. Their first meeting ends in them running together to protect Ariel from a twisted pack. Thus begins the exciting, roller coaster dangerous ride of their HEA where they are trying to deal with the mating frenzy when one of them panics from touch while they are also running, hiding, strategizing, and fighting the bad guys. This book has a little bit of everything you’d expect from romantic suspense - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous action, strong friendships, painful pasts, mystery, plot twists, uber protective men, imperfect characters, and even a few chuckles. The story was well written, the characters had depth and growth, and the storyline was engaging. I will definitely keep reading this series.

Let me just say, I am a DIE HARD Ferel Breed lover but that Thaus of the Dire Breed got me good. He touch me deep in my soul. Any man who can make you have an orgasm just by talking to me well hot damn... He made his mate come while talking her through the door while she was taking a bath and I was right along with her. His strenght is wow! I cannot express how much I love him. This book was so good and I'm really upset it took me so long to read. This was the first week back to school for my kids so I was running around, my Internet was down and it took verizon 4 days. well, the battery died and I had to get a new one that came by ups then it turned out my ethernet cord was damaged and they came out today after trying to help over the phone. I explained that I need it. It was of dire importance for me to read. Soo, with saying all that if you can see the depth I went through to finish this book off you must realize it is an out of this world book. Ellis has done it again. I LOVE THAUS and his mate Aieral is something. She was broken but not beaten. She had sheer will power to survive and overcome her fears. And any girl who wants to blow things up is alright in my back. This book had kidnappers, fear, strength, braverly, strong men, a-hole villians, love, danger, cliffs, and a can of whoop-azz. Please read it you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely loved the book! If you love shifters as much as I do then you want to read this series! Dire Wolves are suppose to be a legend, some saying they died years ago and others saying they never existed at all. They're the biggest (huge, really), meanest (naw these guys have hearts of gold), toughest (oh yeah), alpha (as in ALPHA) wolves out there! This time it's Thaus, he goes in as a mediator (Dire Wolves don't mediate well! Lol) between two packs. It's what they're arguing about that has him seeing red. Ariel is a survivor, she's been through he!! and back, she escaped it and has found a place where she fits in even though she feels she's broken. Needless to say, when these two meet, things go KA BOOM! (Or was that Thaus blowing something up?) I was fortunate enough to receive this book as an ARC in return for a fair and honest review. And honestly, you can not go wrong with a book by Ellis Leigh. Her writing keeps you captivated from the beginning of her books until the end. She's my number one go to gal for paranormal romance and she never disappoints! This book, like the others can be read as a stand alone, but after reading this go back to the first Dire Wolf book, better yet go back to the very beginning with the Feral Breed books, you won't be sorry you did!

AUDIBLE REVIEW
Wonderful narration which makes listening a pleasure. Great inflection with the voices and a good pace.
Loved Thaus even more in audible. Ariel was a bit annoying at times.
I really hate the C word and hearing it audibly is cringeworthy.
BOOK REVIEW
4.5 stars for another great Dire Wolf book.
I do not know how Ms leigh manages to keep writing such good stories.
This book was another page turner.
Thaus has been the quiet one we know very little about. The weapons and demolition expert.
When he is asked to take on a mission on his own, you know there is something special coming.
Thaus was one big wonderful sweetie with his mate Ariel.
Ariel is one of the Omega women and has been through what no woman should ever have to face, she managed to escape and get herself to safety. She is horribly scarred and suffers panic attacks if anyone touches or startles her.
How these two forge a mating bond is so poignant and makes me firmly believe in the fates.
A well written, superb story of triumph over circumstances and the power of love.
This is my honest review of this book but I bought the audible version.

4.5 Stars

Thaus is the silent one of the direwolves and he is the one most people worry about when they see the group of them together. He doesn't think he wants a mate but when he meets Ariel he knows that he would do anything for her.

Ariel has had perhaps the roughest past have any of the females we've met so far in the series and it has definitely left her scarred both physically and mentally. But even with all of that she is a very strong female character, you can see that by the way she has persevered and pushed through. Her will to live was what I loved the most about her.

Thaus cares about his pack he is loyal to the core and would do anything for one of his brothers and he knows that they would do the same for him. He also has the patience of a saint knowing just how far to go with Ariel and her fears.

There is an alpha determined to have Ariel for his very own and Thaus is sent in to protect the Omega wolf no matter what mating her just made it even more personal but with her being Omega the direwolves would have protected her no matter what. The story was more in depth and I loved seeing another one of the guys meet his mate!

Thaus is a sweetheart. A true fighter and weapons expert. He believes Omegas are family. The shewolves he has helped saved before have always tugged on his heartstrings. This time, it is even a stronger pull - the mating bond. As the 4th Dire to go down to an Omega, his mate is the one that got away. Fortunately, she hadn't seen all of what had happened at the battle a few years back, but she was damaged by those sick nuts who wanted to own the strength of the prizes they captured. He vows to kill any he can find that may have brought harm to those girls. Ariel is in a struggle to get away from a crazy Alpha leader of a pack she does not desire to be with. Thaus believes mating is always a choice. Even with fated mates. He doesn't believe in forcing himself on anyone. Good thing, as his girl is spooked by what she is feeling and almost jumps at his touch. However, he is willing to go at a snail's pace with her, if that is what it takes. Much more is in store for this situation than just getting her away from a nut with a contracted promise.

ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

Dire wolf Thaus is the weapons expert of the Dire pack and a weapon himself. He gets a call that he is needed on a paper pusher job, not at all happy until he hears it's an Omega shewolf being forced into a mating she wants no part of. Omega's are part of The dire wolf pack wither they know it or not and no one messes with them as lives.
This Omega shewolf is now his number one priority for this mission until he meets her then she is his life's number one priority.
Ariel has a fragile balance in her life, she was taken from her pack and managed to get away on her own. She found a good new pack and is slowly healing but now danger isn't over for her.

Powerful! Action-packed story! This one like all the dire wolf stories is amazing. The characters I connected with fast and are great. The storyline is fantastic and the bad guys? I loved how much a hated them lol. Ariel is an interesting mix of sweet healer and damaged shewolf. Her mate and protector is wow hot.
Shifter fans if you have not read this authors books you are missing out .
Book was given for an honest review and I honestly loved it..
Don't miss it .

Thaus is a gentle giant. A commanding presence, fierce warrior but when Ariel comes into his existence his gooey center is revealed. Ariel is a survivor, escape from one of the Omaga camps and pricing her soul back together. Thaus has the ability to read energies of others so for him to be able to deal with so many humans he escapes to the mountains. When Thaus is directed to mediate a contract dispute he never imagined his fate was going to change so much.

Ariel has found a home where she feels she can start to heal or just survive without her past catching up to her, that is until a rival pack wants her and will do everything to get her.

This so tiny is fast paced and another great Dire Wolf story. Excitement, suspense, and lust. I loved this story and that Ariel's trust in her mate was so dynamic and thrilling a wonderful story of trust in your partner.

Ariel is an Omega shewolf and a survivor. She has the emotional and physical scares to prove it. She escaped from being kidnapped, tortured and forcibly mated and is now living with a new pack.

Thaus is the Dire Wolf weaponry expert, he prefers to be alone but he always has his Dire packs back.

Thaus is called in to mediate on a contract dispute between two packs. A simple straightforward mission, until what the packs are disputing walks in the door. His fated mate! He will do everything in his power to keep her safe.

Just when I think the series cannot get any better, here comes Thaus! He is the bad boy with the patience and loving side, you did not see coming.

Ms. Leigh does an excellent job of getting you to fall in love with her characters. I am impatiently waiting for her next book.

Great Book

Thaus is a kick butt dire wolf. He is a weapons and explosives expert. So when asked to mediate a conflict between two wolf shifter packs he nearly says no. That is until he is told the contention is over ownership of an omega she wolf. That gets his hackles up. Nobody owns an omega, they are considered part of the dire wolves pack. Thaus goes in pretending to negotiate but really to get the lay of the land. He is outnumbered so he takes the omega and runs. But she is suffering severe PTSD, and Thaus knows they cannot outrun the pack. The action in this book is hot and heavy. And Thaus is just the man for the job. But what seems simple is not, lots of revelations and surprises abound in this fantastic book.

Savage Silence is a powerful book. It does have the potential to have triggers for some people. It had me just melting for Thaus. I have been reading all of the Dire wolves and this is the fourth in the series. I wasn't expecting it to be to Thaus' story so soon. I am NOT disappointed. Thaus was so strong and extremely silent. The control that he exerted in making sure that everything was handled or that he didn't hurt Ariel.

Ariel was not just strong, she is a freaking awesome survivor. Ariel was the perfect mate for Thaus. She defied evil and spit at it not once but twice. I was on Ariel's team from the word go.

Thaus is willing to tear the world down once he realizes what it means to have a mate. Savage Silence while part of a series can be read as a stand alone.
