5☆  Beautiful weddings, fun, Romance

This is the first book I have read in this series. I understand this is the 3rd book but each book can be read as a stand-alone.

Not having read the others did not matter one bit. Jane eased me into all the characters beautifully. She introduced each character and the beautiful wedding shop with such finesse.
I was able to immerse myself straight into the gorgeous wedding shop.

Oh my and Poppy's chocolate truffles were to die for. I could literally taste them.
I'm a baker and the cupcake/wedding cakes won me over straight away.
Throughout the book Poppy tantelises the reader with scrumptious flavours.

From the first chapter I was hooked.
The radio contest and Lily's Mum being one of the contestants was hilarious! I could just imagine the shock on her face... Very cringe!

I loved Lily, she hasn't had the easiest of starts, losing her job and her husband... becoming a designer at the wedding shop couldn't of come at a better time!

I loved the battle between Poppy and Kip.
It kept the story fun and entertaining. Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry to get the creative juices flowing.

Poor Lily she really was a pawn between them. Poppy her best friend and Kip her sexy new boss.
What could possibly go wrong!

I absolutely loved this book.
It was full of fun, friendships, beautiful weddings, bridezillas, banter, sizzling chemistry, plenty of laugh out loud moments, sabotage and scrumptious mouth watering delights!
What's not to love!!!

I can't wait to read the previous books to see what I've been missing!

This book is the perfect summer read!
From start to finish I was hooked.
Jane made the characters come to life I just didn't want the story to end!

Would I recommend this book... without a doubt.... YES!!!

Perfect for readers who love weddings, Chick Lit, romance, laugh out loud moments, looking for the perfect Summer read!

I received this book from the Publisher in exchange for a honest and fair review via Netgalley.

Having read and enjoyed the previous two books in the Little Wedding Shop series, I was delighted to meet up with the girls again. Now, I know the summer wedding season is busy but I could tell from the outset that our lovely ladies were going to be rushed off their feet!

It’s fabulous to see that everyone is heading for their own happy ever afters and love is certainly in the sea air again as we head once more to the Little Wedding Shop by the sea. Although part of a series, this book can totally be read as a standalone as it’s Lily’s turn to take centre stage, although the other girls are there to add their support and lots of sugar!

What I really adore about these books is the girls themselves. I love the way they interact with each other, always working together even when there are major hiccups either within the business or their relationships. Lily is now employed as a wedding stylist but her loyalties are about to be tested when she’s employed by the opposition and meets Kip Penryn. To be honest I didn’t think Kit was good enough for our lovely Lily but gradually, he wore me down and every time he called her Water Lily my heart melted a little more.

I always find I put on a few pounds whilst ready Jane’s books. And this time was no different! Considering I don’t have a particularly sweet tooth, I was craving cupcakes and all sort of gooey desserts after Poppy started tempting me with truffles right from the very first chapter! She’s now running Daisy Hill Farm as a wedding venue with the love of her life Rafe but thankfully she’s still baking up a calorific storm!

Jane Linfoot writes with a confidence in her characters that shows how much she loves these girls! She brings them to live with a vibrancy and passion that means you can’t help but root for them in their search for love, although most of the time Jane allows it to creep up on them unexpectedly! This is a fun and frothy romance that was as sweet as the frosting on those cupcakes-perfect for an incurable romantic like me!

I had some difficulties with the series from the beginning but still I continued reading, hoping it will get better. But also the third book in the series couldn't really hit my spot either.

I found the story very average and I also felt myself very rushed through the storyline. I didn't find a connection with the characters.

The setting itself is nice and I really like the idea about the wedding shop but I have the feeling that a lot was more possible with that setting and the scenery.

Lily gets a job offer she can't refuse, she's being asked to become the new wedding stylist of Brides by the Sea. That means she's back with her former employer, but this time she has much more responsibility. She has plenty of experience, especially with flowers, but has never styled a wedding before. Will she be able to manage? She doesn't even have time to worry, because the first request to help out a demanding bride comes in straight away. Lily's supposed to work together with Kit, the direct competition of her best friend Poppy. Lily doesn't want to be disloyal, but she doesn't have a choice if she wants to keep her customers happy.

Kit needs Lily's help, but she only reluctantly gives it. He's offering the family manor as a wedding location to happy couples, but he has no idea what he's doing. He needs guidance and advice, but every time Lily tells him something she feels guilty because of Poppy. It's a great season for weddings and Lily has plenty of customers. Meanwhile she has to keep an eye on Kit. Will she be able to be successful at her job, so she can give her friends, family and clients everything they dream of?

Summer at the Little Wedding Shop: Bunting & Bouquets is a wonderful romantic story. Lily is a bit insecure, while she's fabulous, she can be prickly in an endearing way and she has a heart of gold. She's always there for the people who need her and with her clever and creative ideas she often saves the day. She's capable and driven and I liked her very much. I love all the women of Brides by the Sea and enjoy reading about their adventures, which Jane Linfoot describes in a lighthearted humoristic way. Their precious friendship is a joy to read about, which makes the books extra special.

Kit's behavior often irritates Lily. She isn't happy with his new business plan and she thinks his family can't take anything seriously and will destroy people if that is what's most convenient for them. Kit has a lot to prove and I loved how tenacious and patient he is. He has a great sense of humor and he's a kind and caring person. I immediately liked the chemistry between Kit and Lily, they clearly have a deep connection and I couldn't wait to find out more about both their history and future and flew through the pages because of this.

Jane Linfoot's settings are absolutely amazing. Brides by the Sea is warm and welcoming and it's a fantastic place to read about. Because of Jane Linfoot's expressive and sparkling descriptions the story comes to life incredibly well. The wedding venues are beautiful and I enjoyed reading about the preparations, the inevitable problems that arise at weddings and their solutions, the stunning dresses and the gorgeous garden of the manor with its colorful flowers. Summer at the Little Wedding Shop: Bunting & Bouquets is cheerful, charming, entertaining, heartwarming and fun. I really loved this terrific scintillating book.

he book has a beautiful cover, it’s a perfect example of Summer, light and bright with flowers. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. As someone who has not read the previous two books I was worried about not understanding story lines that may have come through from previous story lines, but at no point did that happen. It flows easily, with lovable, funny and fuzzy characters.

I didn’t think my emotions would be tested but they were and at times I was reaching for the tissues and wiping a tear away. Other moments I was laughing out loud and smiling from cheek to cheek. To me, that’s the ultimate test of a book if it makes me connect and care. If I am investing more than just time into reading the book and I find I begin to care what happens then that pleases me.

You will wish the characters and shop were real so that you could visit and try those delicious sweet treats. But you can, in your own way, you just pick up the book and jump in.

I will not hesitate to read the first two books and anymore adventures at the wedding shop.

Jane Linfoot is telling us the story of a little Cornwall village and some of its inhabitants as they navigate returns to their hometowns, find love and careers, and even make some new friends along the way. This is Lily’s story, she’d left town, married and built a wonderful career away from St. Aiden Bay – until the hotel chain made her job redundant, she and her husband split, and she’d returned simply to attend a wedding and visit with friends. All around St. Valentine’s Day. Expecting a compatriot in Jess – another “I don’t need a man” sort of woman, she isn’t prepared for the interest she acquires after landing in the Lily Pond behind the pub during a wedding reception.

With Immie soon to walk up the aisle with hot fireman (and former bridezilla’s fiancé), no job, a ruined suit and good friend Poppy stressed out over a newly announced wedding venue in direct competition with her own Daisy Hill Farm wedding venue, there are no shortages of goings-on. And then, Lily’s mother comes over the radio as part of a Brides by the Sea shop promotion on the radio – in which she is engaged! Bad enough that Lily had no clue, but when she met the new hubby to be, in skinny jeans with her mother in varying day-glo workout wear (an unheard of change), Lily is finding herself in the middle of her mother’s plan to match her up with a local developer, Fred.

Oh gods this was fun – from a local boy returning to the local great house in disgrace after a failure of the family firm with an idea to use the venue as a wedding site after Sera’s sister’s spectacular wedding months earlier. With a giant billboard, massive plans and ideas without the first clue of how to implement them, a walled garden perfect for Lily to grow her mother’s bouquet (a request), and a take-no-prisoners attitude toward competition, the game is afoot. It takes Jess with a plan to keep Lily around while expanding the business into planning, and hiring Lily out to keep an eye on the new venture.

The story, layered with twists, turns and laughs is classic Linfoot – you care about these characters, and can read about them and their lives and if you are like me, have every book on your shelf to read and reread when you need to find that place of comfort. I have ALL of her books in eBook, and every paper copy I can get my hands on, and have read each story at least twice. If you enjoy a story that is full of friendship, possibilities and plenty of heart – grab this one now.

I purchased a copy of the title for my own library without requirement or expectation of review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I have really loved this series - from the descriptions of the shop with it's little round window in the attic rooms to the wonderfully engaging characters all set amongst a gorgeous froth of stunning weddings and romance.

I pass a gorgeous wedding shop frontage every day on the bus- they recently acquired another shop- so they have 3 shops in a run- one for weddings, one for proms and one for 'couture'- but the very end window has lace curtains tied back and a vintage sewing machine and mannequin with a tape measure and a table with a ledger/notebook on it. Every day this series of books pops into my head when I go past. I think about all the happy brides that must have used this shop and hope that the inside is as special as the one within this series of books.

I have a real softness for everything weddingy and think I'd enjoy being associated with that industry in some way- until I got the first rogue wedding I guess!

This book has the perfect mix of laughs, warm friendships, sparks of attraction and beautiful settings with oodles of fairy lights twinkling at twilight.

Kip seems to be going into competition with Poppy's wedding business and the brides are also competing to get the best wedding reception with the new wedding planner and go into instagram war! I absolutely loved that part of the story.

I was so sad to say goodbye to these characters and the wonderful little wedding shop by the sea- but I have loved every single page of the whole series!

*Book provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I have read book one and two of this series and I really loved them both. Of course I was also really excited about this one.

This story follows Lily, who’s life is on a free fall. No boyfriend, no job! However, she gets an offer she can’t refuse. They want her as a wedding stylist for Brides by the Sea. The problem: She is now working for Kip, who is direct competition to her friend Poppy. This calls for a lot of drama and complications.

Lily really doesn’t know what do do, because she wants to be good at her job. On the other hand, she doesn’t want to disappoint her friends and family.

It’s great to read about some familiar characters. I love all the female characters in this book and it’s just wonderful to see them together. Friendship is really important. Actually, I also really enjoy the male characters and I was very curious to see how things develop.

This is a lovely romantic story. Jane Linfoot’s style is quirky, fun, charming and cheerful. It's not me fave book of theories, but still a pleasure to read and very uplifting. The descriptions are sparkling and vivid and they make Jane Linfoot's style unique.

Just to clarify, Summer at the Little Wedding Shop IS the third book in the series, however, the books can be read as a standalone and it isn’t a necessity to have read the previous books before you start this one. That said, you might find it easier to connect with the characters if you have already read the other books. Jane Linfoot does give reminders of the characters lives as the story unfolds, but it really would stop those ‘huh?!’ moments when various characters popped up (again).

Personally, Summer at the Little Wedding shop has got to be my one of my most favourite books from the series, with the previous novel Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop, coming a close second.

Lily is stuck in a rut and has a huge, grey rain cloud camping above her head, just waiting to rain on her parade; especially seeing as Lily’s mother seems to enjoy leaving a bitter taste in her mouth by trying to be the Cornish version of, Cilla Black! To bide her time, Lily has been given the role of ‘wedding stylist’ in the wedding shop itself, a role where no Lily has gone before. Literally. All she would need is one larger than life (personality) bride who knows what she wants, to ease her into the role gently….right? Ha…ha…..

Once again, Jess manages to make me laugh out loud whilst covering my face with my hands. She is such an amazing character to read about, even if her ideas are extremely farfetched! Got to give her her due though, she manages to pull them all off, including giving Lily the new role!

I could just imagine the look on Lily’s face when she went to meet with the rivals in the storyline, seeing as there is a lot of history with the rival and his family. I’m sorry to say, but, I could not stand the bloke at first. His arrogance, pigheadedness and ability to not see further than his nose, REALLY got my back up! If it wasn’t for Lily’s vocal castration, I don’t think I would have put up with his character for much longer. Luckily though, Lily had her one liners down to a fine art which made me giggle. You know the sort I’m on about, ‘right place right time’ one liners. Genius.

I realised with the previous book that it wasn’t a good idea to read it on an empty stomach. Did I take my advice for this book? No, I did not. Poppy’s mouth-watering treats feature rather heavily throughout the entire book! The way Jane Linfoot had written about those sweet treats made it seem like the pages had turned into cakes…mmmmm. Seriously though, the descriptions of Poppy’s baking was beautifully executed, even down to the tastes. It’s safe to say that my stomach was rumbling and dribble may have, erm, landed on my kindle once or twice. #sorrynotsorry.

The pace of the storyline was excellent, nothing was rushed, nor were there any empty moments; Summer at the Little Wedding Shop kept me entertained from start to finish. There always seemed to be something to giggle at, a character to dream about, items to lust over, characters to get annoyed at (for me, the rival and one other person!), as well as multiple situations to think about. What more could you honestly want? Well, except real cake of course…

I was worried that certain characters and their personalities would end up taking centre stage, turning the novel into a serious, complex situation as opposed to the lighthearted and heart warming book we all know and love. Due to my concern above, I loved the storyline contained a couple of hidden messages yet it didn’t let those messages over power the rest of the storyline.

‘Summer at the Little Wedding Shop’ really is a beautiful, heartfelt and cosy read, which really needs to have its own space on your bookshelf (as well as the other two). Jane Linfoot’s beautiful writing is the star of the show; the entire novel was such a breath of fresh air and a lot of fun.

Highly recommended!

Thanks Jane/Harper Impulse.

Light hearted read

A nice and easy chick book to read. After reading them all it seems a shame to finish them, but definitely nice books to read on holiday.

What a joy it is to be back at The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea, with its wonderful cast of characters, both the regulars and the new ones. It has felt like I was returning to an old friend, warm and comforting, while on some occasions making me smile and laugh a lot.

If you haven't read the other books in this series, you are missing out on some great stories, but in terms of Summer at the Little Wedding Shop, it can be read as a standalone book. The main focal character is Lily, and the previous books featured others associated with the shop. However if you have read the others, you will be glad to know that Poppy, Sera, Jess, Rafe are all back, and we a thrown into a very busy wedding season, in Cornwall.

Kip Penryn is in town and comes from a family of men not to be trusted. He is setting up his own wedding business in a family manor house, despite knowing nothing about Weddings. Poppy is worried this could severely affect her own wedding venue, and enlists the ladies at The Little Wedding Shop to do some spying, and one upmanship.

Lily who is the shops newest wedding stylist, is persuaded to play double agent and report back her findings while styling any of Kip's bookings. Or at least that was the initial plan!

There are three main weddings to look forward to in this book, Immie to Chas, Natalie to Miles and then Lily's mother Barbara to Dave. Of course nothing is simple, as Natalie and Chas were meant to be getting married to each other in book 1 of the series, and there is a great rivalry between Immie and Natalie, on instagram as they both organise their weddings. Natalie is a real bridezilla, as is Barabara, and Lily is meant to be styling all three of these wedding.

Add in acts of sabotage so that Kip stands less chance of competing with Poppy and you have a lot of things going on, in a well pace, highly enjoyable story. I seem to love this author more and more every time I read her books, especially this series, and Summer at the Little Wedding Shop will certainly make you think of summer, and equally have you reaching for the bridal mags to plan your own wedding!

Thank you so much to Jane Linfoot for this copy of the book which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is the third instalment of The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series from Jane Linfoot. By now fans of this series will be well familiar with the various characters and their back-stories and will be eager to see whom this new book focuses on. New readers will find this story a complete delight to read as it is a nice, light, easy read perfect for the summer holidays. New readers needn't worry that they are missing out on what has happened before in these stories as the background information to each character is nicely filled in so everyone is up to date with where the characters are when we meet them just in time for the busy Summer season at the special shop that is Brides by the Sea.

I have to say I found filling in little bits here and there very useful as it was way before Christmas when I read the last book and I had forgotten characters names and what had happened to them and that's purely because I had read so many books in the intervening period. New readers may find the initial introduction of so many characters a bit confusing but you soon settle in to it. To me it was a much needed gentle refresher, within the first few chapters I once again felt right at home in the story and Jane has worked her magic and created a fun story based all around weddings with lots trials and tribulations to endure before happiness and peace can somehow be found.

This time around the story focuses on Lily whose life is now in free fall. She has split from Thom and on top of that she has lost her job and the accommodation that went with it. She enjoyed her job and had worked her way up to a good position in the hotel chain but this had taken her away from her long held passion of flowers and creating fabulous arrangements. Lily is back in Cornwall for Sam's wedding party and it soon became obvious she had been a long term friend of some of the main characters we had encountered and loved before. She seemed to slip back easily into the setting and it was evident the girls all shared a lovely bond that would see them whether the storms through thick and thin. So when Lily arrives at Brides by the Sea she is at a crossroads in her life and she is really unsure as to what her next move should be. But life has a way of guiding you in the right direction and of events overtaking despite what it is you think you may want to do. So Lily has no choice but to go with the flow with some unexpected people and situations arising.

All the old familiar characters were present throughout the story and I enjoyed how they weren't overlooked even though this was Lily's story. Everything I had previously loved about Poppy, Jess, Sera and Immie was here in abundance and it was nice that the reader could see their stories moving forward but yet this wasn't the dominant theme and didn't detract from the overall storyline. The one thing I did find frustrating was the overuse when referring to a wedding in the previous book of 'Sera's sister's wedding'. Why not just say the characters name and be done with it? This may sound so petty but when reading it began to annoy me but apart from that the story was lovely from beginning to end.

Jess, the owner of Brides by the Sea – a unique shop where all your wedding needs are taken care of under one roof, can see that Lily is a bit lost and so presents her with an offer that is very hard to refuse. Lily should come to work at the boutique and do all the styling of weddings. She would be there to guide the bride through every step of the preparations for her big day and with the offer of a flat thrown in how could Lily refuse? I loved how Jess came more to the fore in this book, I felt she had been hovering on the outskirts for just that bit too long. She is an entrepreneur and enjoys success but at the same time it never goes to her head and she is wise. It was brilliant to see her in indulge in some fun, flirty antics and it was a whole new side coming from her. Yet at all times I felt in a good way she was the mother hen of the group. Apart from the fact she was older she could often see what the others could not and would nudge them in the right direction.

There were several storylines throughout the book all around weddings and it made me realise how much work goes into a wedding, not just from the people getting married but the people behind the scenes who have to do all the organising. It's not helped by the fact that Kip Penryn who Lily remembers from her summers in St. Aidans has now decided to open up Rose Hill Manor as this top wedding venue. This is in direct competition with Poppy and Sam at Rose Hill Farm whose own wedding venture is only beginning to bear fruit. This 'opposition' forms the crux of the story and before Lily knows it she finds herself working alongside Kip styling his venue. She couldn't say no to him given Jess was pushing for it. I must admit I find some of this part of the book confusing in the early stages when they were sorting out Lily working for Kip. There seemed to be mention of doing it for six months and establishing connections with Jess' shop but to be honest I got confused and muddled. There seemed to be a lot of tooing and frooing but in the end I pushed this aside and just got on with reading the story. I could see Lily seemed to have an issue with Kip. Something must have happened in the past to turn her against him and given she wasn't looking for love she wasn't that enamoured with him and it seemed she merely tolerated him for the majority of the book. Yet to me Kip just seemed to be this man out to make a living and although clueless at first he began to show real passion for his venture. The character of Fred who seemed to crop up at every turn came across as creepy and just that bit over eager. It's strange how unexpected things occur when he is around. He seemed way too much into Lily and I wanted her to give him a firm no and tell him to back off. I know who I wanted her to end up with but I wondered would she ever see this for herself?

Aside from Lily having to deal with Kip on a daily basis, and the fact her mother is marrying a much younger man and seems to have taken leave of her senses, there were other things Lily had to cope with. Not least styling the wedding of Nicole who had been about to marry Chas the fireman in the previous book. Nicole was the ultimate bridezilla and her demands were over the top and would have pushed anyone to the limit. When Immie hears Nicole is now getting married the same day as her it's almost like bride wars ensued. I wouldn't blame Immie to honest as she was now marrying Chas and it seemed Nicole wanted to outdo them. The 'Instagram photo and follower' wars were hilarious to read about and I enjoyed this storyline very much. Her Instagram SparkleMonsterBridetoBe just about summed the entire situation up.

The book moved along at a nice pace over the summer months as the different weddings drew nearer and tensions increased. Lily began to grow in strength and she didn't seem as unsure of herself as before. Her love of flowers through the walled garden was a joy to see and I enjoyed how her character developed. As with any wedding it's not all plains sailing and the later half of the book provided plenty of conundrums and twists and turns until we reached the end. But was it a happily ever after for all involved? You'll have to read this book to discover the answers for yourself.

Jane Linfoot has once again written a cosy, sweet, uplifting book where after a period of absence it was like returning to visit old friends. Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is perhaps not my favourite of the series but still very much worth the read. I'll be back for another visit at the end of the year when Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop is published.

I am a huge Jane Linfoot fan and have read the previous two books in the series so I was over the moon and very eager to start this book when I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this.

The cover is just perfect, lovely and summery to match the book and bright to attract readers attentions and draw them into reading this book.

After the first two books being about the other girls this one concentrates on Lilly's side of things. We see her take on a new role at the Little Wedding shop and we see possible new romance blossoming for her.

It is so good to catch up with the other characters too and have them feature a lot in the book as it adds familiarity for us as readers and makes the book so much easier to read. Also because all the characters in the series are just fantastic and loveable and just great friends who stick by each other no matter what.

The book is so full of fun, flirting, and laughter. I couldnt wipe the smile of my face reading this.

Oh please Jane give us another book in the series, I dont want it to end!

Didn't realise this book was the third in a series but it worked well enough as a stand alone book. Loved the range of characters and the rural setting. Plenty of humour along the way makes for a perfect holiday read.

REVIEW - https://comfychairbooks.blogspot.com/

Having only recently read (and loved) the first book in the Little Wedding Shop series – The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea, I was delighted to dive in and catch up with some of same characters I felt like I'd left behind. I often find myself missing characters and wondering how they get on and so getting a little glimpse into what is happening for them now is really a nice touch.

Although part of a series, these books can be read as a standalone. I have missed the second book (it’s on order at the library though so I will get my hands on it soon!) but I don’t feel it matters too much. If you are reading this and have no previous knowledge of the other books you are quickly brought up to speed by JaneLinfoot, but not in such a way that you wouldn’t want to go back and read the ones you had missed. Summer at the Little Wedding Shop gives us Lilly - this time around it is her turn to take centre stage, but I was thrilled that the other girls I’d previously adored reading about still play a big part and are around to support our lead girl.

When the owner of Brides by the Sea offers Lily a job as their new wedding stylist she worries that she can’t rise to the challenge. Before she even gets chance to get used to her new role Kip Penryn hires her services he’s opened an exclusive wedding venue in direct competition to her friend Poppy. Lily feels like a traitor working for Kip, he has no idea what he is doing but is determined to succeed and everyone knows Penryn men are gorgeous but unreliable.

The thing I love most about these books is the characters Jane Linfoot creates for us. They are well written and very likable. You believe in their friendships and relationships, I for one wish I were part of their group. They do go through a lot and always have each other’s back, no matter what they are there for one another and in times of doubt they really do rally and ensure their friends happiness/success. I love all the women of Brides by the Sea and enjoy reading about their lives, which Jane Linfoot brings to us in a light-hearted and romantic way.

I must admit there were similarities between this (Lily’s story) and the one I previously read (Poppy’s story) BUT I didn’t particularly mind, it didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of reading about Lily and how she was slowly overcoming personal issues to move forward (and yes even love again!).

Lily really has two romantic possibilities in Fred and Kip. I was dead against Fred from the start – I knew he wouldn’t be right for Lily at all, he didn’t have much appeal beyond the description of how attractive he appeared to be i.e. his six-pack. His general attitude and way he pursued Lily just made me switch off from him completely. At first I was also Anti-Kip. I’m certain it was intentional by the author though and throughout the book you see little chinks of his true character which makes you reevaluate and consider him as a love interest for our girl.

Our main girl - Lily is insecure about being able to do a good job, although she really is brilliantly creative and very confident in many ways. She can be rather spiky and not afraid of saying just what she thinks - well with certain people who rub her up the wrong way. Lily (just like the others) is always there for the people who need her and would try and move mountains to ensure everything works out well.

Jane Linfoot brings us into the Brides by The Sea world and give us lovable characters and well written and descriptive locations. This world is brought to life with enthusiasm that means you can’t help but root for them in their search for love and success.

I enjoyed this so much, I have ordered the ones I haven’t read yet at the library – I’m so keen to jump back into their stories ASAP. These are light hearted, fun and romantic tales and such a lovely read. Oh, and if you are sweet toothed like me , the descriptions of the wonderful cakes and treats available (via Poppy) will have you reaching for your very own slice.

Comfy Rating: 👍👍👍👍👍

You know when you come across a random book and have no idea what it is about and when you get stuck into reading it, it is everything you could ask from and more? Well this is how I feel about Summer at the Little Wedding Shop. I have never heard of Jane Littlefoot but I am so glad that I have now as I will be tracking down everything she has ever written to read all her writing.
The story follows a girl, Lily, who, after a failed marriage is moving back to her home town to take a job offer that if a once in a life time opportunity. Along with her closest friends, Lily becomes a wedding stylist all whilst planting and growing flowers for her mother’s upcoming wedding. Along for the ride, other than her whimsically busy friends, is Kip and Fred, two very different men fighting it out for Lily’s heart. With several ups and downs to keep the story going, the story is essentially about Lily grieving her father’s untimely death, learning how to be the person she always wanted to be and breaking down barriers with people. All whilst sipping on a lot of alcohol and eating lots of cake.
“Because when a bride finds her perfect dress, for a few seconds of her life, none of the rest matters. All that’s important is her. And how happy she is” loc 3143.
So, this is kind of your typical chick lit kind of novel. As an eBook ARC, I loved it. I want to read the first three books by the author which go with the story, but have been told it doesn’t really matter to have read them or not. This is the kind of book or eBook you take away with you on a trip away, or a weekend away with the girls or whoever. You will read through it fast, even though there is a lot of it. It is simple, to the point, doesn’t mess around, only with your emotions.
With a clean flow from the start to the end of the story, you will fall in love with Lily and her crazy set of friends no doubt. The characters and all their relationships don’t feel wrong and in your face. It is the kind of romance novel that will make you swoon and cheer on the characters rather than be jealous of them. Don’t knock chick lit until you have tried it. And if you don’t usually read chick lit, then try this one, it might just change your mind.
If you like weddings, bridal shops, girls who have no idea what they are doing with their life, then this is the book for you.

After previously reading Cupcakes & Confetti and Sequins & Snowflakes I was delighted to see Bunting & Bouquets available to read. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. You are given background info throughout the story so you definitely get a feel for the characters without ending up confused. However I would recommend reading the other two books just because they are so worth it.

At the start of this book Lily is pretty much starting again and kind of floating through life trying to find her way again. Luckily Jess is on hand to give Lily some direction in the form of a job along with help from her friends. You get a great feel for her character and I loved the throwing of the bouquet at the wedding near the beginning of the story. You could feel Lily's fear! Then the aftermath where Lily meets Kip it's a brilliant first meeting that definitely left me smiling. Nearly every interaction Kip and Lily have is funny and filled with tension. Kip is frustrating at times but there was something about him that captured my attention.

This entire series has a delightful set of characters that as soon as I started reading it felt as if no time had passed since picking up the last book. The friendships portrayed in this book are perfect especially as they all take the time to look out for each other. Along with the introduction of few larger than life characters who would test the patience of a saint. Put it this way I'm not altogether sure I could keep my cool like Lily. They definitely kept things interesting and helped make the plot fun and entertaining. It was lovely to see the story develop over time and at no point did the story feel rushed. This way you have the ability to really get to know the characters especially if this is your first time meeting them.

After reading about Poppy's creations it was all I could think about. I have to say I did try baking that day to try and stop my cravings, suffice to say they were no where near as nice as Poppy's cupcakes sound. I really wish Poppy was real so she could come and bake for me.

Lovingly written with a delightfully comforting feel to it. Best enjoyed with a hot chocolate and plenty of cupcakes!

Please tell me that there will be more from everyone at the Little Wedding Shop.

Thank you to Harper Impulse & Netgalley for my copy. This is my honest & unbiased opinion.

It’s summer and wedding season, coincidentally while reading this the UK was enduring a heat wave! So Summer at the Little Wedding Shop was the ideal book to read while I sipped cool drinks in the shade.

Now I may be a little biased (ok a lot) but Cornwall is the best place for the setting of this story. It’s wonderfully laid back and still catching up with places like London, so the prospect of a wedding shop with all it’s fancy flowers and wedding planners etc is delightful.

Poor Lily is having a bit of a crisis, losing her job and accommodation means she accepts the offer to return to her former employer Brides by the Sea. She is highly experienced with flowers but can she cope with planning weddings as well? If falling into a pond and earning herself the nickname Water Lily is anything to go by she may struggle!

I loved the scene where Lily listens to the radio around Valentine’s Day and to her dismay hears her mother .. a real giggle moment.

Lily is a likeable character, she wouldn’t hurt anybodies feelings but things get a bit tense when she has to work with local guy Kip to arrange an event. He is direct competition with her friend Poppy so her loyalties are torn. She split from her husband so is anti-men .. can Kip ignite a little flame …. or is there a chance to catch a bouquet or find love .. read to find out. With three weddings to organise there is bound to be a few hiccups along the way!

There is so much light fluffy content, friendship, humour, mouth watering food to tempt the reader, a real sense of awe at some of the preparations required for a wedding. The highs and lows, pretty dresses, flowers .. in fact anything that makes one feel summery and loved-up.

Jane has a knack which allows the words to flow easily and make you keen to read and see what happens to these people she has created and invited you to care about. Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is the third in a series but it is perfectly possible to read and enjoy it as a standalone .. by why would you want to miss the others?

Absolutely stunning and likely to be one of the books of summer 2017. My thanks to Jane, Harper Impulse and Netgalley for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Reading this book is like stepping into a chocolate perfect story. I delighted so much in the descriptions of The Little Wedding Shop. If I ever had a shop, I would like to be exactly like The Little One of Brides by the Sea only with books instead of the wedding related goodies.

When the owner of Brides by the Sea, Cornwall’s cutest little wedding shop, offers Lily a job as their new wedding stylist, her first thought is – can she possibly pull it off?
Before she’s even sourced a fairy light or tasted a cupcake, Kip Penryn hires her services – but he’s opened an exclusive wedding venue in direct competition with her friend Poppy.
Lily feels like a traitor working for Kip; only everyone knows Penryn men are gorgeous but unreliable. All she has to do is sit back and watch him mess it up…doesn't she?
Love is in the Cornish sea breeze this summer as the girls tackle their busiest wedding season yet. There’s plenty of bunting, bubbly and baking – but who is going to catch the bouquet?

Summer at the Little Wedding Shop is the third book in The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea. You can still read it as a stand-alone, but I would strongly recommend sampling the two previous Little books as it will give you the whole pictures of who's who and round up this series in a perfect Little package.

I would describe the cast of characters in this story as sparkly, fun and fabulous. It felt so lovely to be back in Brides by the Sea, the most charming wedding shop!

In Bunting and Bouquets, we follow Lily's story as a new wedding stylist for Brides by the Sea; she is sent on a mission to find out all the information about the newest wedding business in town. Lilly has her work cut out not only she must spy on Kip Penryn's new wedding venue, but she also needs to organise three weddings that are taking place throughout the book.

I love books with the wedding theme, and there is certainly lot drama, bridezilla-ness and rivalry involved in Bunting and Bouquets.
That definitely meant a lot of fun reading Summer in the Little Wedding Shop.

Hop on the wedding carriage that will take you on a delightful, warm and very romantic journey to Brides by the Sea!

*** I received this book in exchange for an honest review***

This is 3rd in a series but I honestly don't think it matters and can be read as a stand alone.

In this book we meet Lily who is going through a tough time at the moment, due to losing her job, her house and her mother getting remarried to someone much much younger.

Lily becomes a wedding stylist for the wedding job when she doesn't really have a clue what she is doing.
In comes Kip Penryn who hires her, I'll be honest. Really couldn't stand him at first and not just because he’s opened an exclusive wedding venue in direct competition to her friend Poppy and Lily is made to help him to spy on the competition.

It must have been horrible for Lily and I found I couldn't put the book down, even when I got ill, my kindle became my best friend, and OMG the sound of Poppys baking - osh who doesn't love a good cupcake now and again - I only wish Jane had included some recipes as this book made me seriously crave some chocolate or cake, and lets me honest; we are all like Lily when it comes to eating cake... gone in a flash!!!

I love how we also see how the other storylines are going from previous books and the other plot twists in this book.

This is perfect summer reading, I don't want to drone on and give you the whole story line, but I would honestly recommend this book, I did find it a little slow to start with after the first few chapters but I was soon hooked again and couldn't wait to see how things would turn out, and some shockers in there to which made me want to punch a certain someone.

You really do start to know all the characters and I really hope we get more books from the wedding shop or at least a book that has them featured again as I feel like the girls are my friends and I'd hate to not read about them any more.

So my last line:

READ this book!! You won't regret it, and as ever always leave a review and recommend!! Brilliant!!!

Having been a huge fan of the first in this series - The Little Wedding Shop - I was eager to return to 'Brides By The Sea' but this could be read as a standalone. I'm just shocked at myself for not having read the second in the series - Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop - and will be rectifying this fact sooner rather than later!

In this book we follow the story of Lily. She had left the shop, where she had worked as a florist, to move to Bath with her husband, but she soon returns when her dream life doesn't quite pan out. So she is down on love, down on marriage and probably not the best person to invite back to the shop around Valentines' Day!!

She is offered a new job with her friends at the shop as the wedding stylist and with a busy season ahead of them again, including the wedding of her mother, all doesn't run smoothly. Added to the mix is the new wedding venue business in the neighbourhood run by clueless Kip Penryn, and he soon enlists the experts from 'Brides By The Sea' to help his business succeed and they are torn whether to help him or hinder him!!

It doesn't take long for you to be all for Lily in her plight in moving on from the past, which isn't so easy as she is made to confront all she remembers of her Dad since he passed, and how her mum is definitely moving on - but for the right reasons?

Another fabulous look at the lovely characters we have met previously, and the new characters add a little something different and fun to the mix that made this such a pleasing and fun read! So whether you are returning to the shop after enjoying the previous stories, or looking to discover a new fab read then look no further!!

This is the third book in Linfoots Little Wedding Shop by the Sea series, while the books are standalones if read out of sequence they will contain spoilers for the other books.

I loved Lily, she was rather broken when she arrived back in St Aidan for her friends wedding on Valentines day. But she is the kind of strong we all aim to be. She picks herself up and builds herself a brand new business and a whole new life... with a gentle push from Jess.

I will hold my hands up and say my opinion of Kip Penryn was based solely on the actions of his brother Quinn in Sequins and Snowflakes, that and a teensy little bit of Lily's opinion of him form the beginning of this book. But i quickly realised that he is nothing like his brother, he may appear to be a little work shy and play happy in the beginning but he really digs in and makes his business work. And slowly he works his way in to your affections.

For the first time in my reviewing history I'm going to give a tiny spoiler in my review so stop reading now if you don't want to know.. My most favourite part of this book was with Immie trying on her wedding dress. I'm not ashamed to admit that I blubbed more than a little bit.

Review also on my blog: https://nextbookaroundthecorner.wordp...

This book is the third of the series of The Little Wedding Shop. Since I hadn't read the first two parts, when I requested the Arc on Netgalley, I suspected that I wouldn't really matter.

But I guess it did. Although I was drawn to Jane Linfood's book by the blurb and the beautiful cover, I just couldn't relate to Lily. We enter the story, when Lily is just hired by her friend, and owner of the Brides by the Sea wedding shop, to be the wedding stylist. But the story goes from scene (or day, I'm not even sure, because the titles are a somewhat unclear per chapter) to scene to different characters, I'm constant struggling to keep up with the story.

For instance, we meet Kip, who has a brother who is supposedly well-known at the wedding shop. But since I don't know the Penryn family, I really don't understand the fuss and the dislike of Lily for Kip. So the whole chemistry thing between them is only very confusing.

In all, I'm sorry that I couldn't relate to the story and like the characters. So, I'm afraid, only two out of five stars from me. And maybe, if you start at the first story, you'll like this one better than I did.

Summer at the Little Wedding Shop Bunting and Bouquets by Jane Linfoot

I love this series, the characters are realistic, the setting and imagery vivid and easy to visualise and the story is peppered with humour and sparkling romance, making it an enjoyable, easy read.

I loved Poppy’s story but Lily is my favourite character now. Her self- depreciating humour makes me smile and her lack of insight into how great she is, makes me root for her success, even when she doesn’t think she deserves it.

The supportive network that encompasses all involved with ‘Brides by the Sea’, adds depth to the storylines making them interesting and relevant.

If you enjoy cakes, flowers and weddings and heartfelt romance against set in beautiful, rugged Cornwall, this is the holiday read for you.

I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
