Thirsty For a Boss: I Don't Wanna Be Loved

Rate this book
Layla Rich is a gorgeous, confident, hard working go-getter, well at least that's what she tells everyone. Below her flawless surface lies a lost little girl who harbors deeply rooted self worth and rejection issues. Envying the life of celebrities like Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian she does anything to mimic a life like theirs. Using her Instagram popularity to build her ego and mask her insecurities she discovers a way to make it profitable.

Justice Blue knows all about hard work. Unlike Layla she has worked hard for everything she has, including her relationship with her male best friend Dymir. Throughout the years she has always been the loyal, trustworthy friend turned sister that Dymir could depend on. No longer wanting to be in the friend zone Justice realizes that she can't let yet another scandalous female get in the way of her and Dymir's true love.

The handsome Dymir Cooper grew up in Baltimore County. With his street savvy cousin L.A. in his ear they managed to come up together taking over the heroin game in B-More City. Even though L.A. brought him into the game Dymir allowed his business savviness coupled with street knowledge to put him at the top of the food chain. Daily Dymir battles with his conscience and inner demons and comes to the realization that there is no place in the game for a man with a heart.
In his search for real love and freedom from the streets he meets Layla and quickly becomes enamored with her beauty. Literally Layla uses all of her assets to captivate his senses. While Dymir throws all of his common sense out of the window Justice see's through Layla's superficial facade.

As Layla, Justice, Dymir and L.A.'s world's collide the drama unfolds. Page for page their secrets are revealed. Will Justice allow Layla to sink her scandalous claws into Dymir's heart? How long will it take for Dymir to realize Layla's beauty is only skin deep? Will L.A. allow Dymir to leave the game peacefully?

Aisha Linnea never disappoints. This was another great read from her. This story was basically about how a woman didn't let love stop her from getting that paper. She did what she had to do, no matter how foul it was to get paid ...without any remorse. However, sometimes your plans seem to backfire in your face, & you reap what you sow.

Layla didn't care about a thing, except for her love of money & getting it by any means necessary. She prefered the finer things in life & used her body and depended on Instagram to get it. Her lifestyle was very disgraceful in my opinion. She felt it was her only way for a come up ...to live 'the life' as Kim Kardashian & other rich celebrities did. Her only friend was that mean green and & she let her love for that controlled and run her life. Her careless actions cause heartache & pain. And it also results in her being left in uncomfortable situations. I'm dying to know who tried to kill her and all the juicy details that will come in part 2.

James & Dymir didn't suspect a thing. They both were clueless to what was really going on. I can understand James not knowing but at the same time, why he didn't suspect not one thing was surprising to me. What was more surprising were his reactions after he found out. Now Dymir was a dream come true. Still, I think he should have peeped game. Especially with the situation with Justice. I felt like Layla should have tried to change her ways when she ran into Dymir. I mean, I surly would have & I hoped that she was going to do so. I respect the fact that he's trying to Improve his lifestyle. Justice on the hand, knew something was off but no one would listen. I felt bad for her though. But honestly I think she was a fool for not expressing her true feelings. I do understand why she didn't though. Now that she's finally gotten what she's wanted, I don't think she feels as if it was worth it. L.A. was such a nasty scumbag. He's definitely a no good cousin & I'm positive he will be the cause of his very own downfall. Jealousy is something else. To see his lifestyle turning into what it is goes to show that Karma is a bitch!

The ending left me with so many questions. I'm wondering if L.A. & Dymir will pull everything off in the allotted timeframe. It sure doesn't seem to look like it with L.A.'s stated of mind & current habits. I'm also dying to know if Dymir will find out about who Layla really is & what his reaction to it will be. What will Justice do after that Grand Opening? Will she finally show Dymir what she's found? Will James cross paths with Layla again? What about Brock? I just can't wait to read part 2. The drama and suspense in this book had me on the edge of my seat. The story flowed flawlessly. It kept me turning the pages until the very end. Thirsty For A Boss was well written, with very little errors. It has lots of secrets, lies, deceit, and cover ups. Nice read

This was an good book. Layla is such a gold digging Heffa. She does any and everything to get what she wants. This time she might be in over her head once everything comes full circle. Dee tired of being in the game is ready to give it up and go legit , but his cousin LA (whose very jealous of him) ain't ready to give up the life and blackmails Layla to help him get back at him. Justice really seems to like Dee, and know that Layla ain't no good for him, but what makes her better when she does the same thing. So many secrets going on I can't wait til they all come to light.
