The work shown here represent a true American master, Will Barnet. His creative contributions, from 1930 to the presetn, illustrate the strength of a master artist who has grown with the changing times while, at the same time, never losing the strength and techniques attributed to a great master at any age. The Will Barnet exhibition presents many drawings and studies, and a number of prints and paintings from 1934 to 2000. It is an educational exhibition showing the process of creating, in some cases from inception to finish. Mostly selected by Will himself, the show is special because he uses his own vulnerablilities to show by example the true nature of creating art as a painstaking work and experience. Inversely, this vulnerability positively signifies his admirable compulsion to teach.
