“I never wanted this, but I want you.”

An attack one night in the mountains left Amber changed forever, or at least changed every full moon. Confused and afraid, she turns to the Internet for a cure. Instead she discovers a small town with a doctor whose research could give her back her life. So she bought a cottage, made a plan, and moved.

Jasper grew up knowing the first time a wolf sets eyes on his mate, his life is changed forever. While the bond between them could be an amazing connection, it would also leave him vulnerable to loss and unimaginable pain. He'd seen it happen and vowed to never experience it first hand.

Two people. Two wolves. One chance to heal their souls.

Truthfully, I enjoyed this one more than I’d initially anticipated.

Amber is the first in the Stone Pack series, and it’s a great introduction to this world of wolf shifters. It’s short enough to be completed with ease. It’s interesting enough to keep you hooked throughout. It opens up enough of the world to leave you wanting to read the next book. As a whole, it was a great little read. It wasn’t perfect, but it was more than I’d anticipated.

There are many clichés in this book, but do not let such a thing put you off. Whilst it has a lot of things that have been done before, there are enough unique aspects to prevent it from being a carbon copy of other books on the market. Somehow, I feel as though such a thing is to be expected. In these urban fantasy romance novels certain things seem to belong to the check list that all authors seem to adhere to – such as the instant romance (always blamed upon the mating bond), the fact that the main characters seem to be at loggerheads despite the attraction, silly decisions made by the main character. They should be annoying aspects, especially with how often they’re used, but they’re not. That is why they’re used so often: no matter how many people use these things they still work. These things will always work in such stories, thus authors continue to use them.

As I said, though, there were unique aspects. Rather than being a werewolf book, this is a wolf shifter story. Two completely different things, which is refreshing. It’s a nice change to have. It opens up a lot for future stories, and it somewhat important for this story. Moreover, the initial notion of this story is for the doctor to offer up aid to our main character. Usually in such stories doctors with cures appear later in the series when a kidnapping of some kind occurs. Whilst things didn’t run the expected course in regards to this aspect of the story, it was fun to watch things unfold.

I will point out, however, that I did have one slight issue with the book. For some reason, there was a single chapter wrote in first person. It appeared out of nowhere before things quickly returned to normal. I’m not sure why or how this happened, but it was rather off putting. It can easily be ignored, as it’s only one blip, but it did leave me feeling iffy for a short while after it happened. Whilst I’ve pointed this out, I should note that I have not lessened my rating because of this error.

Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I became super addicted, and I found myself unable to put the book down once I was pulled into the story. I cannot wait to see what comes next for the series, as I’m really interested in where the characters will go from here.

Hot alpha

What happens when your attached one night but survive only to turn into the same monster a month later? You do you dampest to learn and hide. Amber is such a great character, funny and smart and real. I really enjoyed this story, and it would of been so much better without all the stupid grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors.

Okay but needs polish

While the story started out okay, there were odd sentences and awkward dialogue that didn't feel real. One whole paragraph was written in first person while the rest is in third.
I didn't care for the way the way the heroine is brought to the pack or the pitiful attempt at explaining her new life. And what was with the insinuation that they had to mate as wolves?!

Great shifter romance read!

Amber moves to the mountains after being attacked by what she thinks is a werewolf to avoid changing in the city. When she chose her new cabin it was sight unseen and she didn't realize how rundown it would be. Her goal is to get a job with the doctor whom she thinks can cure her. Jasper is the pack alpha of that territory and when he gets word of her decides to investigate on his own. As soon as Jasper sees and smells her when he sneaks into her house while she is sleeping he recognizes her as his mate. Jasper attempts to push past the mating call, but his wolf has other ideas and continually pushes for him to claim her. Amber has no idea how to be a wolf shifter and believes its a curse rather than a way of life. While Amber and Jasper both fight their attraction, a discovery makes Jasper realize that he needs to acknowledge and accept her as his mate. Jasper starts to teach her pack ways and makes Amber realize that she can be whole if she accepts her wolf. When Amber is abducted by the doctor who claims to know the cure, Jasper proves his love by coming for her. He proves that hes willing to go to any length and understands his fathers stance on true mating better.

This was a great story in my opinion. It left very little questions in my mind and the only big one I had was how does her brother accept it after he knows the secret! Will definitely be reading more of this author!

Brilliant read

Brilliant read loved the characters Amber after being attacked and turned into a wolf comes to the sleepy town to get rid of her curse what she doesn’t bank on is meeting Jasper her mate even though she doesn’t know it as she doesn’t have a clue about wolf shifters. Jasper goes to see what is going on with a new wolf in town who can’t recognise them or seem to understand their ways . He tries to reach out to her but she is wary she has started to work at the clinic where the Dr she needs to see is their. Things aren’t going to plan Jasper finds the remains of two of his pack and believes it to be the Dr using them to experiment on. Jasper removes Amber from the clinic to his house where he explains what she is and that she isn’t alone and what Amber is to him his mate. Amber has a lot to learn but seeing the pack and how everyone is it gives her a sense of family also accepting Jasper helps her until she leaves to meet her brother as she needs to sign paperwork for their company but once there she finds her brother bound to a chair and the Dr holding him at gun point. Jasper has to find Amber after just getting her he can’t lose her the pack comes together to help and find her and put an end to the Dr experiments.
Loved this book so much didn’t put it down until read it all can’t wait to start on the next book

This was a good short book in my opinion. No cliffhangers, it can be read on its own. A good, short paranormal romance for when you want something that A)you can read in a day. And B) it cost me no money at the time. There is something of a plot, enough to keep me engaged and to read until the end. It follows the concept of there being an instant attraction followed by a couple days of resistance and then Bam! We’re in love. So this was good for when you’re in the mood for that! 😁

My main issue to take is that there were some grammar issues(not so many that I had to quit or cringed, but enough to make me think for a moment that someone probably should’ve read through it again to catch some more of these). And at one point the story switched so it was in first person POV, rather than being read as though just from Amber’s point of view. (For a brief moment, “I” was the main character. Threw me for a bit of a loop, and then we switched back.)

But all in all, a good little paranormal romance that cost me nothing, and while I don’t particularly want to read the rest of the series, I also don’t feel like I wasted half a day to read it. No regrets. 🙂

This read only took a couple of hours to get through, but was totally addicting. Amber is pretty smart, even though a couple characters call her dense. The pack itself brings a good dynamic to the story. Jasper is a good Alpha overall. I really enjoyed the comical relief that the supporting characters added to the story and they played just as much a role as the main characters in my opinion. I actually hope several get their own books in the series. The only real fault I had was the author seemed to rush things once Jasper and Amber meet each other. I wish she had slowed things down and added in more details instead of just rushing straight to the finish. This story can be read as a stand alone.

Being a supernatural creature sounds awesome and all but it's difficult when you don't understand what exactly is happening to you.🐾 So I get Amber's need to feel normal again. She's alone with this. She doesn't have anyone to confide in. She wants what every one hopes to find one day. True Love.❤️ But to also live a full life where she isn't afraid of herself because of this curse placed upon her. So looking for a cure seems the way to go. Jasper wasn't looking for his mate. Honestly he didn't really want one. He thought when the moment came he could just ignore it. That seemed easy enough until he met Amber. She brought out feelings he couldn't deny anymore.🔥 Not that he fought too hard I feel.😏 This was fast paced and by the ending left you wanting more.🌙

A sweet, scary, intro to becoming a wolf shifter against your will.

She had been attacked in the full moon, when she woke everything was changed. She didn't understand til the next full moon, then she feared she'd become a monster. Amber then moved to a small town where a doctor lived who was supposed to know how to cure the problem. She had no idea the town was mostly wolf shifters, and that the alpha was looking for her when members of the pack told him about her.

Meh. Jasper started out as a world class prick to me. Only redeeming feature was the patience he showed his mate. Other than that, found the story to be bland.

Pack is family

A good shifter book but in need of some proofreading. A strong plot and good characters. Amber is a strong female and Stone must accept her as his mate.

Book 1 in the Stone Pack series,

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I felt at first that it might have been better for a younger reader, but the more I read, the more I realised I was wrong.
Amber is a strong young woman that has had a rough time with her parents passing away and then being bitten by a wolf. Moving away from her life and her brother is hard.
Jasper is an alpha with no plans to ever find a mate. Fate could have other ideas.
As with all good books, there is a bad guy who really needs to be caught, but there is also a great group of people who would like to keep Amber safe.

This was a quick, entertaining read. I don't think I've seen wolf shifters handled in quite this way before. It was an intriguing approach to a paranormal creature that's seeing a lot of popularity of late. The sparks fly from the time Amber and Jasper first try to resist each other and it makes for some laugh-out-loud banter. I really enjoyed watching these two and their relationship. Though it was one of the secondary characters that stole the show for me: I adored Zoey.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Amber

A shifters delight as the many plot evolve and transition to a marvelous story as the love story continues between Amber and Jasper. .As well as a great suspenseful mystery of the not so nice doctor's true motives.

This was a great introduction to the Stone Pack! Amber was attacked while hiking in the mountains near Seattle. Seeking a "cure" to her affliction that happens every full moon, she heads off to a small town in the hopes of finding and working with a doctor who supposedly is working on a cure.
There, she meets Jasper, the alpha leader of the local Pack. Unbeknownst to her at the time, all is not what it seems to be in the small town, beginning with Jasper.
I loved the character development here, you really could understand the angst Amber felt, how alone she felt not understanding fully what she was now dealing with. It was heart wrenching to read how she had to hide her condition from her brother Brent, who she is very close to.
Also, Jasper was a great alpha leader. Yes, he was in charge and yes, he was thrown a bit in discovering his mate, but he treated her very kindly and with understanding as she coped with accepting who and what she had become. I really liked the mutual respect they had for one another as the story progressed. I highly recommend this - also no cliffhanger!
Although I was gifted this book via an author group Giveaways promotion, that in no was effected my opinion or this review.

Wow, i absolutely adored this book!!! So much so that i read it in an afternoon! This author is extremely talented and i am now dying to read more of her books, especially if they are anything like this book! I voluntarily reviewed this book and am super glad that i did!

This is a must read book, it's very compelling and as soon as you start it you can't stop reading, there is a need to keep on turning the pages just to find out what happens next. It really is an addictive read, it's fast paced and full of action.

One of the things that spoke to me throughout this book was accepting ourselves the way that we are, that we are all who we a re meant to be and i loved reading that! The other big thing i loved was the inner strength that Amber has, although she is running there is a reason for it and you can see her developing throughout the book, the more she accepts who she is the more her confidence in herself rises.

Jasper was brilliant in this book, the thing i liked reading about him was the fact that he is the Alpha and he is so controlled with everything and he is determined to keep it that way so i love reading how that control is broken down when his mate appears.

This really is an amazing book and i really suggest that everyone reads this!!!!

Cute and sweet

Great book! I love Amber's spunkiness, and determination. She's gone for what she wants, the possibility to find a cure for her after being bitten by a shifter. Withe everything Jasper saw his father go through once is mother passed, he's determined never to take a mate...he just doesn't realize he really doesn't have a choice. Amber is his mate and his wolf is making sure he knows it and he can't deny it if he wanted to. The crazy doctor she works for is grasping at all he can to try to take the wolf from his daughter. Only they're not werewolves like he believes, they're shifters and once they embrace their wolves, it's an amazing thing for both forms. I was so happy to see Amber finally accept who she is and find a place for herself. Can't wait to see what happens next in the series. Thank you for a great read.

Amber and Jasper

This is a short standalone paranormal romance series opener. It has a number of grammatical errors, missing words and bonus words, but the storyline is good. Amber Wesley was turned into a wolf shifter when she was attacked while hiking. She has moved from Seattle to a small town several hours away to seek out the help of a doctor who is reportedly working on a cure. Jasper Stone is the town's sheriff and the local pack's Alpha. He has been investigating disappearances of some of his wolves when he is informed of a rogue wolf who has moved to town. When he meets her, he realizes she is his mate. But he doesn't know that her move to his town has put her in the sights of a killer.
