Tangled Desires #4

Maximum Rush

Rate this book
Rush Hadley wants two months of my time in exchange for the only interview the magic man’s ever done. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. A make or break point in my journalism career. All I have to do is entertain the famous magician.

A billionaire playboy who doesn’t understand the word no, he’s stubborn, one-track minded, and set on getting me into his bed. Men like him ruin girls like me with their dirty mouths and wicked tricks, but I’m not gullible enough to fall for his charms, even if his touch feels like magic.

Maxi O’Keeffe is a sexy little challenge I intend to have my way with. She might have said no, might keep saying no, but I always get what I want. The quirky goody-two-shoes isn’t going to hold out forever.

Uncomfortably awkward and downright weird, she shouldn’t be the only person who gets me. She shouldn’t be more than a way to pass time in this boring old town. So why does she get me higher than any audience screaming my name?

Misti Murphy writes sweet and funny, sometimes frustrating and always swoony romantic comedies with just a teensy bit of angst.

When she's not writing she lives in an imaginary world full of happy humans, glitter, and unicorns.

Not that being a mother of four, plus four fur kids isn't practically the same thing. Except when they steal the Tim Tams.

(Kangaroos are practically unicorns, right?)

The Hadley siblings have all found love with the exception of one hold out—oldest brother, the famous magician, Rush, 30. He has no time for it and doesn’t want to be tied down by it, but when an Australian reporter is after him for an interview and Rush is on his way home for family weddings, he decides to bring her along as his companion.

Max Holland O’Keeffe, 21, feels guilty taking off for two months on an assignment. She has her own family to look out for, including a niece that she’s recently become the guardian of. Max is quirky to say the least. She wrestles with issues of insecurity and self worth and often drifts off in her mind.

Despite his playboy ways (which thankfully aren't depicted) Rush is quite the enigma of a man. He’s a private person though ironically he prefers being naked and letting it all hang out.

“‘It’s a magic wand that grants orgasms.’”

Rush omits confidence and sex appeal and is what Maxi needs to come out of her shell, or shall we say head. Told via Maxi and Rush’s alternating first person POV, the story (like the previous books) is largely lighthearted, pleasantly void of OW/OM drama allowing it to focus on the building of the romance, and full of sexy times.

“‘Oh, I’m going to lick you sweet cheeks. I’m going to tongue fuck you until you see stars.’”

Will Rush discover that love is more rewarding than the applause of the crowd? Will Maxi find that two months with the Hadley’s is a life experience that will provide more than just the answers to her interview questions? The theme of balancing work and family come into play.

Maximum Rush can be read as a standalone although fans of the series will enjoy glimpses of the couples from the previous books.

Somehow, even with all our modern gadgets, social media, author and blogger friends and our book besties, I LIVE UNDER A DAMN ROCK!!

How has NO ONE suggested Misti Murphy to me before? What is wrong with you people? Like SERIOUSLY?? I thought you were my friends!!! She's got 10 friggin books already published and I find her right before her 11th book IN A SERIES is published. I happened to receive an ARC of Maximim Rush this being how I stumbled onto her.

I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. It's my first magic themed romance I've ever read and I gotta tell ya, Rush was so good with his magic tricks that I disappeared quite frequently while reading this book. Don't believe me? Just listen to my kids complain about having to eat leftovers or sandwiches all this past week because "Poof" I was gone!

So when I realized there was a fourth book in this series and the book was about Rush I was a little baffled that he would get his own book. One reason being, he was hardly mentioned in the previous three books. I felt like he wasn't even a secondary character. Yes, he's the oldest of the Hadley siblings but what did you really know about him before the end of Cocky F@#ker? I knew he was the oldest, he dated Chelsea for a short time, and he doesn't come home or talk to the family much. Even though I felt like he didn't deserve a book I went in with an open mind to see what Rush was all about. My verdict? I would've been fine without reading this book. It really didn't add anything interesting. I was glad to finish this book and dive into something more interesting.

Ok I have to admit I was less than thrilled with this book. I'm not sure if it was Rush with his constant sexual innuendos or something else that I have yet to put my finger on but I found myself skipping paragraphs or skimming them to move it along.
Rush seriously loves himself and I just wasn't impressed by him. Max I did like, she is young and has the pressure of being a mother. I will say that Rush redeemed himself in my eyes nearing the end of the book and taking on a young baby that is not his.
If you have read all the other books in this series then you have to read this one to finish it off.

Fantastic and so so funny i could not put this one down, i really loved this whole series to be honest and i'm so going to miss it, Rush is a sweetheart, he's like one of those guys who can't sit still and bounces off walls but when he loves he loves hard and for that he totally stole my heart, Maxi is adorable and the spins inside her head remind me a lot of myself ha dunno if that's a good thing :) hopeless romantics you are going to love this one just like Rush it will steal your heart like MAGIC.
Would Rush Be My Book Boyfriend ? He is my book Husband as are all of the Hadley Men MINE #CLAIMED !

Maximum Rush
Misti Murphy

Author review

4 magical stars.

I’m going to start this review with a big unhappy face, but before you walk away or have a tantrum hold up, wait a minute... cause then I’m going with huge smiles. I’m sad for the end of the Hadley but smiles for the oldest and pretty much the biggest douche to get his own with the best woman in the world to tame him.

Rush Hadley is a magic man, no literally – he plays for the biggest audiences and sows his seeds with any wanton woman. Unlike his other siblings, marriage , girlfriends. Not Ever Going To Happen! He is more than happy with his single life, but now he is returning to Reverence for his brother and sister’s weddings, and things for Rush are about to get really real.

One quote for Godiva magazine, that is all Max O’Keefe needs to get from billionaire playboy and world famous magician, Rush Hadley. What she gets instead is a manwhore offering her services that sweet Max really doesn’t want to handle and a huge game changer – one interview (the only interview ever given), with one huge condition. She must be his partner for the upcoming weddings in Reverence and in return she will get that one game changing interview that will escalate her job as a journalist. But having family issues, leaving her mum with a baby 2 months, and spending that time with God’s gift to women is not something she wants to do... but with an opportunity like this, her mum sends her packing.

From the 1st step on his private jet, Maxi is less then impressed by his need to overindulge himself, or she can pretend she is. There is so much more to Rush Hadley than the world sees. He is not all about sexing random women, nudity and a huge P – sorry I mean head. But once they are in his home in Vegas then in his family home in Reverence, what she finds is a whole different man. Although he has an ego to outdo the biggest douche bag, his soft sweet side is showing with his non woman by his side.

Together in his hometown and in his home Rush and Max will discover the worth of family, and despite her best efforts – each other. But as they grow closer and denial takes over, their own stupidity may spell the end of each other before they get that real opportunity to be together. For Max not wanting to open up and agree that falling for him is actually happening, her past knowledge of who he is, her home life in Australia not being anything like his and her hilarious inner mind that plays out during the story.

For Rush, wanting and getting women was never a problem, but feelings he never expected blow his world apart for his little nun. This woman who was uptight, quiet and would blush at the thought of nakedness has turned into a partner but his non woman. Stupidly he sleeps with her then basically breaks her heart with his constant push aways. But as their time comes to an end, Max questions her job wants compared to family, and although she knows there is no long term with Rush she discovers being a journalist may not the best option for her and Sarah. Rush doesn’t know what hit him until Maxi leaves him and returns to Australia. Cross wires and dropping out calls may be the end of the pair... If only Rush wakes up in time to realise Maxi is his woman.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

After reading Cocky F@#ker, I fell head over heels with all the siblings in the Hadley family and had to know more about each of them and their love stories. So when I got a chance to get my hands on Rush and Maxi's story, I was giddy! I couldn't wait to get an up close and personal look at the “magic man” and the woman who falls for the man behind the magic tricks. Rush and Maxi are troubled, endearing, and sizzling whether they are running from paparazzi, performing magic tricks, or getting it on!

Maxi O'keefe is working her way to the top as a journalist for Godiva Australia despite the devastating and life changing year she has endured. Now she is offered a chance to interview the world's most famous magician but she must leave her family and responsibilities behind and avoid temptation with the sexy “magic man”. I adore Max with her nonstop inner dialogue and crazy, anxiety driven antics. She is the perfect match for Rush's dramatic flair and gives him all the excitement he could ever ask for out of the spotlight.

Rush Hadley is an ambitious man who spends his life traveling around the world and charming fans with sleight of hand and daring stunts on stage and impressing the groupies with his prowess in the bedroom. That is until the quirky Maxi walks in to his life requesting an interview and for the first time he considers giving the media what they want... but only for a proposal of his own. Rush is a delicious enigma with his penchant for mastering illusions, sexy bedroom talk, and even sexier moves. The minute he started calling Maxi “little nun” and seducing her with his filthy talk, I was a goner.

Misti Murphy once again takes us to the town of Reverance to spend more time with the beloved Hadley family and fall in love all over again. I highly recommend Maximum Rush for another steamy and heart stopping romance that will give Misti Murphy's fans another Hadley fix to feed our addiction! I can't wait to see what beautiful and sassy heroine and mouth watering, dirty talking hero Misti Murphy will deliver next. Until then I am going back to the beginning and spending some time with Razer and Claire in Prick Tease! I am sure I will be left panting and with even more of a craving for the Hadley bunch!

This one was a bit hit and miss for me.....the premise of the story, the majority of the execution were mainly done well.

Rush was a good character- he was handsome, funny, witty and smart....and a famous millionaire magician who was taking the world by storm- he got what he wanted, how he wanted, when he wanted- no effort required

He is notoriously private- he gives "Quotes".....never ever interviews- no way, not happening.....that is until Max comes into his life- she goes for a "Quote"- but leaves with the promise of an interview as she is the only person whom has ever turned him down- how dare she spurn his advances.

But the interview comes at a price- she must accompany him to his home in the USA from her home in Australia- which means leaving behind her nearest and dearest for 2 months.

Max- or Maxi as Rush affectionately calls her was the spoil in this story for me- she is the reason I have downed this from a 4-5* read down to a 3.5*. She is such a needy character- yes she has had a shit ton of responsibility thrust upon her at a young age- but she's smart and professional- and too much in her own head with her little fantasy world....in which either Rush loves her- or the majority of the time hates her.....and she let these spill over into her real life- I know we all have doubts in our little heads- but this was over the top......as soon as I hit one of her little dramas in her head and the wiring went italic I skipped the whole passage.....sometimes there were pages of it- and after the first 2 or 3 little fantasies I just stopped reading them- they didn't add or subtract from the story.

She acted too much on these things that played out in her head- and for me that ruined it a little

If only incest wasn't wrong, I would take all of the Hadley brothers (including Razer) to bed and never let them leave!

Misti Murphy is one of my favourite authors and "her" men are one of the reasons!

Rush - a world famous magician and illusionist with no commitments except to riding the high of a 50 thousand strong crowd and dipping his wick in every candle that offers.
Maxi - a struggling journalist with more family commitments than any 21 year old should have, and a strong aversion to men like Rush.

What draws these two together?
Is it the chase that draws Rush in? The challenge of a woman who says no?
And why is this man, a candidate for an ADHD diagnosis for sure, drawing her in against her will?

And why am I rooting for a couple that can only spell out heartbreak?

The last and BEST book of this series.
Reading 'The End' is so bittersweet, leaving me longing for more. However, every storyline is perfectly closed. I loved the previous couples' weddings, but I'm sad that those events were cut short in details.

Grateful for my 4 days with the Hadley family.

"I will miss how they come together in a mass of jokes, teasing, and name-calling. And most of all, love. Every time they’re together I can feel the love and respect."

A somewhat unique read - read on KU

I read this some time ago but failed to leave a review. I believe I did review the previous books in the series but can't remember anything about them. I didn't remember this one either and even as I read, I only got a vague sense of familiarity. In the past, when I re-read a book, I usually can remember a lot more when I read it a second time but I have been reading a lot more in the last 2 years. I read 400 books in 2021. It is still surprising I didn't remember this because I have not read many other books, if any, about magicians.

Obviously, the aspect of a fake relationship isn't unique but Rush doesn't try to pass their relationship off as anything other than what it is so it really isn't a fake relationshipbook but that is the closest trope I can think to group it in. His family is very aware she is writing an article on him. They are very welcoming of her despite that.

They have a fun time together. His family is great.

There wasn't much I didn't like about it but her insistence to herself that she isn't allowed to have fun in her life because of her sister's mistakes got old. Really old. Yes, her sister has seriously altered her life in a very lasting way but she doesn't need to punish herself for something she didn't even do forever.

The other thing I didn't like was the epilogue. It isn't that the HEA wasn't what I would have wanted for them. The end result was good but the epilogue was very weak.

Ms. Murphy made a number of grammatical errors. It surprises me at what a large percentage of British and Australian authors I read that get personal pronouns wrong. I/we/he/she are subject pronouns. They do actions. Me/us/him/her/whom are object pronouns. They have actions acted on them and are usually preceded by prepositions. It is extremely rare to find a sentence that begins with an object pronoun that is correct. (Her obviously can also be a possessive determiner and can begin a sentence when used in that form.) This is a huge pet peeve of mine and a habit I'm still trying to break in my 20 y.o. daughter. It makes a person seem ignorant to make these errors. There are several of these errors in the book. Another common and similar error, even for those who know whom is the object form is to incorrectly consider who as an object when it is really being used as a modifier to describe who is doing the action or being discussed. That happens in this book, as well.

I obviously did enjoy the book and have read most, if not all, of her other books and look forward to new releases.

The Hadleys have two weddings in the near future; which means Rush needs a "date", " interference "? Enter Maxi, she has shown up at his show to get just a quote, since he doesn't do interviews. rush decides that they can help each other. For the next two months they stay together, while she writes her article, and he attends his families weddings. This is an enjoyable story, and shows you the oldest Hadley in his element. They do get an hea, and the siblings are present in this story, while not under the same roof.

This is my first read by Misti Murphy and I absolutely loved her writing style and will be reading others now I have found her.
Maximum Rush was a typical billionaire romance, but unlike all the rest, this story had a totally different outlook which I found really refreshing. This is not your usual hot guy meets girl, where they share a moment of attraction, sleep together endlessly and ends with a HEA. No Maximum Rush is so much deeper, with an attraction that develops throughout the story and leaves you hoping, cheering and blushing the whole way through!
Rush Hadley is a totally hot magician with the world at his fingertips. Max O’Keefe is a young reporter looking for that story that will skyrocket her career.
Sent on assignment to get a “quote” from Rush Hadley, she pushes her luck hoping the ever elusive Rush will give her what no other reporter has been able to get…an interview!
Rush doesn’t do interviews, he does woman and plenty of them. Waiting backstage for Rush to finish his gig Maxi is hoping to convince Rush to give her that interview, but what Rush wants to give Maxi is a quick bang in the back. But Maxi isn’t every other woman and won’t jump him just because he is hot, she has a career she needs to concentrate on so she can secure a future for the sake of baby Sarah.
Rush having never had a woman reject him before, sees this as a challenge. Knowing how desperately Maxi wants that interview, he gives Maxi an ultimatum, spend two months with him (no strings attached) apart from having to attend the weddings of his two brothers and she can be his one and only exclusive interview ever! How can Maxi say no to that?
From here this story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion. Not knowing where it will go, keeping you guessing to the end. This story also had depth with family connections and their unconditional love. Sometimes you need to listen to the ones who know you best. I absolutely loved all the supporting characters, fascinating in their own right, but Rush and Maxi are two characters that I fell in love with and so want to know more.
This is a great read with all the usual characteristics of this genre, love, sex and a HEA but you also get a really good read! I recommend this book to any true romantic.

Hot magician anyone?

This was a good read and the last in the series. Other books featured Rush's family members and characters included in this book, all hot reads with great characters.

The plot: Rush is a famous magician and Max is writing an article on him. Rush never does interviews so this is an exception with a catch. Max has to spend two months with him.

I've read similar stories with rock stars where the reporter has to go on tour with the band but this is different Max has to attend family functions and family gatherings and spend time with Rush in exchange for an interview, after a while the hot famous manwhore of a magician she dislikes starts to magically disappear as she begins to see a different side to him.

Max doesn’t come across as a reporter, she's an odd ball, the plot regularly goes to her thoughts and she's quite a daydreamer and goes into her own head a lot, this kind of throws you as you read, it took me a bit to get used to it, I couldn't tell at first what was real or actually happening and when she was fantasising.

Lots of innuendos in the beginning, flirting on Rush's part, he's a man used to getting his own way, mostly women who fall at his feet but Max is very much stuck in her prudish ways and Max is well aware of his reputation, other than Max's fantasizing she's quiet reserved, shy even and you get two sides to Max.

Maximum Rush had humor, good family times, hot fan me down moments, was told in dual pov's and leads to a hea.

An enjoyable read and great characters.

Recommended series.

Title: Maximum Rush
Author: Misti Murphy
Series: Tangled Desires #4 (can standalone)
Genre: erotic romance
Themes: opposites attract
Archetype: playboy
Heat: 3/5
Rating: 4/5

This is, without a doubt, Misti Murphy's best work yet. I've followed this series from the beginning, and although I've enjoyed the stories and these characters, and particularly the family interactions, I've always struggled with the internal voice of Murphy's characters being too present. This is the first time Murphy's writing has shown the maturity (and the humour) she is capable of.

I found both Rush and Maxi's characterisation absolutely brilliant, but particularly the latter, with her quirks and fantasies, and her angst which actually felt real, rather than forced. She was one of the strongest written heroines I've come across in the romance world, and it's fantastic to see so much attention being put on the female character as well as the male.

Rush. World famous magician. Billionaire. Play boy. The man almost every girl secretly wants to land.

They were a couple I was absolutely rooting for. One thing Murphy is excellent at is writing strong sexual chemistry and anticipation for the characters, and this doesn't disappoint.

This was a really fun 'opposites attract' love story to close off the Tangled Desires series, and the plot meant that we could read the happily ever afters of the previous characters and members of the Hadley family. It may not have been the strongest, most interesting series I've ever read, but I'll miss it.

So I started the Tangled Desires Book at Book 4- Maximum Rush. Not a big deal, as you don't need to read the three prior books to fully enjoy this book. It is a stand alone. But holy cow, it definitely makes me NEED to go back and start the series.

Max O'Keefe is a journalist for an Australian magazine. She is tasked with getting a quote from Rush Hadley, the Magic Man, who is the hottest magician known. He doesn't do interviews, but will give you a quote. He is also a known to be a bit if a dog and will sleep with any woman that is willing. Well, Max isn't willing. She is a professional and wants to do her job. When Rush realizes she isn't going to fall at his feet, he doesn't like that he isn't getting what he wants. He always gets what he wants. But, he realizes that Max is different. So he offers her the opportunity of a life time. He will do his one interview, EVER in his life, if she comes back to the States with him and accompanies him to his families weddings over the next two months. That way he doesn't have to worry about leading her on, and she can get her story. He also can try to get her let her walls down and let Rush in. What happens when Rush realizes that Max is more than he was looking for?

I really liked this book. Max and Rush are SO HOT! I loved how Rush kept denying his feelings when his whole family could clearly see. Max's character was well written. Just the right mix of innocence and spitfire. The dynamic between the characters was great and it was fun to watch their story unfold on the pages. I also loved the Hadley family so much, I now have to go back and start at the beginning to find out their stories.

I received an arc in exchange for a honest review.
Firstly let me say this book is fantastic and I couldn't put it down.
I ended up reading it in one sitting.
This is the 4th book in the tangled desires series and sadly the last.
I love Misti's books but this series is my favourite.
The Hadley family and the town of Reverence are a little bit of magic you will want to keep a hold of.
Maximum Rush centres around the magical Rush Hadley the playboy billionaire magician who spends his life touring the world doing his magic tricks and hooking up with random chicks. He loves his life and wouldn't change a thing.
Max O'Keefe is an entertainment journalist for a Sydney magazine called Godiva who is asked to get a quote from Rush after his show.Shes beautiful, sassy, slightly neurotic and a wonderful person. She just needs to learn to live out of her head a bit more and stop zoning out into fantasy land once in a while.
She's had it tough recently and her life has been turned completely upside down so when Rush offers her a once in a lifetime interview (he NEVER does interviews) this could set her career up forever.
What then unfolds is a fantastic book that will completely hook you in from the first chapter and keep you thoroughly entertained right up to the last page.
I really hope Misti decides to grace us with another Hadley family book in the future as I will really miss this special family.

I absolutely love this book! What do you get when you mix a cute, cocky magician with a young, innocent journalist? Pure Magic!!
This is a light, playful, and sexy story with lovable characters that have great chemistry. I got so lost in this story, I had a tough time putting it down. It does alternate back and forth between characters, which I like, it’s easy to follow.
Rush is a 30 year old private man in the public eye, he’s talented, a bit arrogant, and loves to have fun! He makes a deal to give an exclusive interview to a quirky, innocent 21 year old, journalist Maxi, against her better judgment, she agrees to his terms. He’s never told his story, not wanting to put him and his family’s life on display. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to get his one and only interview……except for her one rule; “I will not shag Rush Hadley”, easy right? Except he’s used to getting what he wants. There are plenty of secrets to be shared, as well as some steamy, goofy smile and chuckle moments that make this story sweet and addicting.
This is book 4 of the Tangled Desires series. I think it can be read as a standalone. I don’t feel like I’m missing any pieces by starting with book 4 but, I would like to go back and read 1-3 now because I’m curious about little things that popped up about his past. I will definitely read more from this author. Already on my TBR list!

Maximum Rush is tied with Prick Tease for my favorite of the Tangled Desires series. And Rush is tied with Razer as my favorite Hadley male. Rush is so sexy, and so incredibly naughty. Maxi is perfect. She's a little scattered, really sweet, and so determined not to end up as one of the notches on Rush's admittedly overused bedpost. When they come together, though, they are fire! He's the brother of Claire, Mace and Tom, and he's probably the most interesting of all the brothers, not necessarily the nicest (ok, definitely not the nicest), but certainly the most interesting. He's more world weary, a lot snarkier, a much bigger manwhore, and certainly richer, which is the least of his attractions. Maxi seems to fit perfectly into his life, though, in a way I wasn't expecting, considering how different she is of him on the surface.

I had been waiting impatiently for this conclusion to the Tangled Desires series, and the last of the Hadley family, and it is well worth the wait. Thank you, Misti for this amazing book in this awesome series!

What starts with getting a quote for the magazine she works for turns into the opportunity of a lifetime for Maxi O'Keefe. Rush Hadley doesn't do interviews, but there is something about Maxi that makes him offer a chance at an interview if she spends 2 months with him and accompanies him to some family weddings. Maxi wants to jump at the offer to make her career by interviewing the illusive magician, but her life is tied to responsibility in the form of her sister's daughter. The chemistry is off the charts between the two and both think they can hook up with feelings staying so far out of the mix, but even the best intentions don't turn out that way. Both develop feelings, but are scared to admit to them. The more time Maxi spends with Rush and the Hadley clan the more she wishes she could be a part of that forever, but a call from home has her running back and Rush trying to pretend life is the same as before. But when he shows up on her doorstep no longer able to deny how he feels they both get what they were scared to admit they wanted. I loved this book from Misti Murphy!! ARC given in return for an honest review.

The magician and the virgin who fall in love sums this up for me, having read the previous Hadley siblings books I was excited to get my hands on this Rush wasn't what I expected him to be at all after reading the snippets of him in the other books I was pleasantly surprised in fact I think I fell in love with a little more, as the saying goes "Those who fall last fall the hardest" and he really did fall for Maxi despite trying to convince himself otherwise. Maxi is the sweet and in a way nerdy journalist who was convinced she wasn't going to sleep with Rush never mind fall in love with him, I loved her although the way her mind wandered into fantasy distracted me a bit almost confusing me to the point where I had to re-read parts to make sure if what I was reading was her imagination or reality but anyway on the whole this book was brilliant I thoroughly enjoyed it as for the wee bit of info at the end about the next family well I nearly squealed with excitement, I love Misti's work and this didn't disappoint 5 out of 5 from me.

What to do when the magical son returns to reverence. Tricks, fans, weddings and mayhem!
Rush is at the top of his game performing at sold out shows all over the country. So imagine his suprise when a sexy little reporter, who he assumes is a groupie, sneaks into your dressing room. He doesn't do press but just maybe they can strike a deal that will benefit them both.

Maxi is an up and coming reporter looking for her next big story that will jump start her career. So She decides to go big or go home by trying to get a first time interview with the famous magician Rush Hadley. What she didn't anticipate was her bodies reaction to him. The attraction is instant but she stands her ground.

She wants an exclusive interview & he needs a date to weddings and family events. It's a win win right? What's the worse that could happen. This book was amazing and it was so so good to touch base with the Hadley's again. A funny and drop dead sexy book that had my ready to meet a magic man of my own!!!!

So I’m not sure why I have never read Misty before. I loved this book, and now I need to go back and read about all of these sexy brothers. But I will start with the last of the series, and see where it gets me.

Rush is sexy, a sold out magician, and has no issues with the ladies. He also Never does and interview. Maxi has a plan to change that. She is an up and coming journalist and wants to do Rush’s first interview. Will they be able to find a compromise? Maxi is supposed to act like his girlfriend for a wedding and few family events, and then he will give her what she wants.

These two a smoking hot together. Maxi tries to keep things professional, but Rush is sure to get her in his bed.

I’m off to read the other Hadley brother’s stories. But I do highly recommend this book.

„Maximum Rush” is fourth and unfortunately the last book in Tangled Desires series by Misty Murphy.
This book’s about the oldest brother - Rush and Maxi, a journalist. Rush Hadley is a billionaire magician, playboy and huge asshole - or he wants everyone to believe so. Maxi is a little bit awkward girl with a responsibility in the form of sweet little girl.
Maxi wants to do an interview with Rush and gets herself a deal - her article in return for two months with his family and practically acting as a human shield.

Simple? Not so much! :)

Ahh! I loved that book! Seriously, I can’t believe how much it engaged me. It gripped me and never let go!
This story is sexy, funny, well paced… just wonderful!!! I loved both characters and it was great to see the rest of Hadleys, too.

And OMG I’m gonna miss Hadleys! I love them all! The whole series is SO worth to read!

Magicians amazing right ?
They all have tricks that lead you to be believe the illusions that they have practised a million times over,
But what happens when the tricks and jargon you use for everyone else doesn't fall in your favour with one certain reporter, with his magic Rush finally be turned round and the trick played on him?

Maxi
She's set her sights and her goals on one thing, Get the one interview to make her career the only problem with this is she has to sell a little bit of her soul for 2 months,
But with what waits for her at home can she commit to something that takes her away from the one pride in her life?
Can she take the challenge and make it work in her favour and be the best support she can be for Sarah?

Only time will tell with this magic duo because when you take away the magic & mystery is it really enough so see an illusion as a reality?

3.5 stars from Amo & Sarah's Book Corner

Maximum Rush is the final book in the Tangled series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone.
Rush is a magician who's bound and determined to never fall in love he loves his life the way it is.
Maxi is a young journalist for a celebrity gossip mag who's got a lot on her plate and wanting to get ahead she's very adamant about getting that all inclusive never before expose on Rush but he wants it on his terms only after all what Rush wants Rush always gets.
Maxi is a well written character very realistic with her quirks vivid fantasies and anxiety she's very relatable. I did have a hard time getting into the groove of her inner fantasies some times it took me out of the flow of the story.
I liked how their relationship grew from friendship first even though sex was involved they took the time to get to know one another. The epilogue was really sweet and had me smiling a whole bunch!

ok, my feelings are all over the place with this one.
I haven't read the other books so I can't compare him to the other brothers (i wonder if i should get the other books?)
Rush is a magician and man whore. Maxi is determined to make Rush give her his first interview and there are "conditions" he sets to make this happen ( the mind just jumps all other the place with this doesn't it?) The sex scenes are "magical" (you knew i was going to go there) Rush is the oldest brother and probably has the worst attitude, crudest, man whore, and i am sure i could come up with more names.
Maxi is sweet, naive and way over her head with Rush, but how far would she go to get the interview of a lifetime to get her name out there and skyrocket her career?
This is the final book in the series and I am sad to see it over.
I would love to go a round or 2 with Rush <3
