Desperate Measures: A Mental Love Affair

Rate this book
It seems that the beautiful Ann has been choosing the wrong type of guys for practically her whole life. The older she gets the crazier she picked them. Right before she finally decides to fall back to take a break and focus on herself, her best friend Christy comes along and begs for her to give her handsome single pastor Rob a chance. Before Ann completely agrees to the two of them meeting Christy practically has the wedding planned out. After several outings together both Rob and Ann start feeling a serious connection but they aren't the only ones. While Ann was visiting the church one Sunday she runs into and old high school classmate who she hasn't seen in years. To Ann there was always something unsettling about Lisa but from the looks of it God has delivered her from her demons, or has He. It wasn't a secret that Lisa was one of the pastor's helpful servants down at the church. She made sure everyone knew it and when she sees things start to heat up between her pastor and his new love interest all hell is about to break loose. The mind is a powerful weapon that could be used for the good or in the case of desperate times can cause a disaster so big that God Himself may need to step off of His throne.

This was really a good read. The characters were positive & likable, for the most part. I liked Ann & Rob's relationship. He was a true man of God & Ann was good for him. Ann's BFF Christy & her dude Leo also made a good couple. Lisa was a vindictive chick whose actions could not be overlooked. I was hoping she would get herself together, & soon. Minor editing issues. Overall, storyline was pleasant & an enjoyable read.

The title says it all

This was my first time reading anything by this author and I will definitely be looking for more of her work. The title says a mouth full, Lisa was a special kind of cray cray and she was the like so many women in today's society. I am glad things worked out for her. Ann and Christy shared a unbreakable bond and I love how they looked out for each other. Overall this story was very well written and a good stand alone novel. I couldn't stop reading until the end.

Review

I enjoy reading Christian fiction from time to time, and this book confirms why. The stories just reel a reader in with the way they add bible verses to the story.

Good read!

This was a good Christian read centered around patience, obedience and faith. What I took from this book is: He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all we ever asked for. Which is is something I remind myself of daily.

What a beautiful story!!!! Love and forgiveness

I loved this book! The story is very realistic, we've all had terrible relationships and wondered God what is wrong with me? When the right one comes along we are sometimes hesitant to allow love to be. Thankfully Ann and Rob didn't let that detour them from what God preordained. Now Lisa was a little cuckoo and I'm a lot like Christy.....I love the Lord but you can steal catch these hands!!! Pray for me lol. Great job Tammy!!!
