I was born in 1959, grew up in Massachusetts, attended SMU (U. Mass, Dartmouth), and moved to Wisconsin to work for TSR (the Dungeons & Dragons people) in 1980. I’ve been here ever since, writing stories, drawing, and raising kids with my wife (who I’ve been with since 1980 as well).

I’ve had more than 30 books published (not counting the anthologies, but counting the ghost-written stuff only alluded to on this site). I also run a small publishing house, Walkabout Publishing. Recently, I've started posting new stories for Kindle on Amazon, in addition to my print work.

You can write to me: fanmail@stephendsullivan.com – but please be kind (and patient), okay? And don't forget to check my web site. You'll like it. Adventure guaranteed. (Monsters optional.)

Finally a great Dragonlance novel that hearkens back to the original series, and the Kender is quite funny too.

My actual rating is 3.5 stars.

This takes place in the Dragonlance universe. A ship and her crew are looking for the Dragon Isles where the good dragons use to call home. They hope to find a vast treasure.

When I first started reading this novel I was disappointed because I found a mistake that goes against a concept that is set in this world. I almost stopped reading because of it. I continued on and this turned out to be a good book. I thought the author did a good job with the characters (esp. the kender) and he did an excellent job with the action scenes. The best part of this book was the setting he portrayed as he brought to life the under water world. Overall, this novel doesn't affect anything in this universe but it is a nice single story set in this world.

If you are a fan of Dragonlance and you esp. enjoy dragons, this book is a solid read.
