Every High school has its rock star. Maybe it's the quarterback, head cheerleader, or the valedictorian--the one student who outshines the rest. The one everyone knows will be successful in the years to come. For Nolan that was a lifetime ago, before he lost his sight, before he even knew what a Leech was.

Now all Nolan wants is seeing Caleo survives to fulfill his destiny. A task that has become increasingly difficult as the government wades into the war, and the number of people trying to kill them skyrockets.

I’m really not sure where to begin with this review. I liked the first book. The second I loved. But this third one, was just okay. Honestly, it was just the ending that took it from me liking it to just being okay. It was still worth the read just a bit disappointed in the ending.

I wanted to finish the series badly but now i don't know how i feel about it. I liked the end or not? I've mixed feeling about this last book. So sad for Nolan but happy for Caleo and Jack. Many events to follow and a bit hard to follow the plot.

what a wonderful conclusion to this series. Almost hate to see it end. But maybe James will be kind enough to give us a "Leech: The Next Generation". :)

I seriously am not okay with this. I am legit pissed, sad, and frustrated. I can't even with this right now......It's going to be hard to write this review as impartial as I can make it. So i'll start with the non-fanboy review.

Spoilers below....

1. Plot(3 out of 5):

This is truly the first book in the trilogy where I definitely felt the plot of the story actually had a purpose. I always felt the first two books were a bit sort of 'works in progress' and just merely going with the flow types of things. It is really hard to pinpoint a plot for those two books but for this book...it's the final book and Caleo wants Alix dead for all the hell has caused his family and the war is about to break loose.

On that note, it is good because we finally have a purpose. The problem with this is the fact that this whole entire plot basically makes ALL the characters look stupid.(More on this below).

Overall a decent plot if you overlook the stupidest reasoning of all.....

2. Writing(2 out of 5)

Can I say that I am glad that James has found a much better editor this time around. One of my least favorite things about Caleo and Jack's books were the numerous errors. Even the names of the characters were spelled wrong at times or they were using the wrong character's name.

Don't get me wrong...there were still errors in spelling that should have been caught in Nolan's book but far less(probably less than 10) than the previous books.

The issue this book had is pacing...It started off well-enough and the action of the beginning was good and then it slowed down to a decent pace only to start randomly going in so many directions that didn't make sense and the ending was INCREDIBLY rushed.

We get to the big fight...the big confrontation and it is merely over in the span of say....a few pages. We had far more intense fight scenes in the beginning of the book as well as in Caleo and Jack only to get such a lukewarm ending.

Another annoyance is the book's need to interject humor(which felt force) at the worst of times. Literally someone would be cracking a joke when something bad was happening and I am like "Okay can any of you be serious?"

While this was a much better improvement over Caleo(and especially Jack), Nolan's book still isn't where I need it to be because the pacing of the story is off.

3. Characters( 3 out of 5)

I had been waiting for Nolan's book for ages since reading about the dumbass that is Jack and it did not disappoint in the least on the front of what I expected from Nolan. I absolutely love Nolan and I love his backstory, his present story and his blind(no pun intended) devotion to Caleo. In truth, Caleo does not deserve Nolan but I want Nolan to be happy and he wants Caleo. Nolan as a character is amazing because he is strong, alpha male type with a heart of gold and he will protect those whom he cares about...doing it while BLIND. Love, Love, Love Nolan...which is why the ending pissed me off(More on this later).

Caleo's character is a mixed bag for me.....I liked Caleo most in Jack when he was mind controlled by Steve and basically acting as a cold blooded killer(Again no pun intended). Caleo's character in the first book was a whiny boy who was basically every worse stereotype for a gay kid...and in Nolan, he basically goes back and forth between the two. While he didn't make me roll my eyes as much as he used to, Caleo is not a good character in the least because I really can't say I rooted for him. It got bad when I was just hoping someone would Kill Caleo and let Alix win....Caleo spends way too much time overthinking and then he takes charge but then has the stupidest idea and one track mind.

And then there's Jack...I'll say this...I didn't hate Jack early on in Nolan....Jack actually was tolerable and I enjoyed his time. I realize the reason I hate Jack is caleo....Caleo ruins Jack's character because for a good part of the book, Jack isn't with Caleo and he barely gives him much though(focused on his nephew) and that is when Jack is the most interesting. Jack's character unfortunately goes downhill when you bring Caleo and their 'romance' into the equation especially now with Caleo & Nolan's romance.....I thought after things had finally been set in stone for the choice of Caleo, that would be the end of it, but nope...More on this below.

The villains of this book are as one dimensional as ever....in fact we really get absolutely no depth to Alix or Steve's characters. I got more motivation from side-characters such as the agents and Mickey as a cat than I got from these 2.

All in all, the characters excluding Nolan are all forgettable. It gets 2 stars for Nolan alone and 1 star for making Jack somewhat tolerable, even if it didn't last long.

4. Romance( 1 out of 5)- Spoilers below this point

This is the biggest issue I have with Leech. If you take out the romance aspect of it all...it would actually be a great book. In fact, make Nolan and Jack Caleo's best friends instead of love interest and it would have been nearly perfect.

The issue I have with books like these are the fact that the romance starts to become the focal point of the story instead of the overall plot. Characters die...are raped...are tortured. You have a child who has been taken and no on knows if he is being harmed. But all they can think about is

"Omg, I love him."
"Sexy times."

"I am jealous."

It would be tolerable if the romance is actually GOOD....I only root for Team Nolan to get Caleo because I love Nolan. I'd rather Nolan be single tbh.

Jack has done absolutely nothing to deserve the romance and in fact for a good part of their lives, basically ignored Caleo and showed absolutely zero interest in being gay until...wait for it...Nolan shows an interest. Now Jack wants Caleo and is in love with him.

Nolan at least earned the respect and love of Caleo...and has numerous times shown that he would die for Caleo(he has nearly died and my god that ending).

Caleo even FINALLY has sex with Nolan in this book(Go Nolan!) and chooses Nolan...and Jack surprisingly, hurt, takes it well and doesn't treat Nolan badly or Caleo weirdly......so tell me why does Nolan have to die in the end?

I should've suspected it...Nolan has sex with Caleo.

Caleo chooses Nolan.

We get flashbacks to Nolan's life.

I should've called it because things were going Nolan's way too perfectly. I would have been okay with Nolan had he died by his own hands(Nolan was ready to kill himself to save Caleo...) but nope...Steve takes that from him and kills him and then they don't even get to say goodbye.

To slap all Nolan fan's in the face, after Caleo chose Nolan and they are basically an item...Nolan dies and it is just Caleo and Jack. So of course they get together. Why not make them be brothers(Since they are foster brothers) and best friends. Why do they need to end up together?

It's so offensive and it basically cheapens everything Noleo had in favor of Calack. I am not okay with that and this alone basically ruined the book for me. I can deal with the pacing issues...I can deal with spelling errors...I can deal with the mess that is Jack

But you ruined one ship by killing the character to place them with the other ship and then Nolan is basically buried and no longer mentioned.

Okay then. But that is not the worst part of it all.......

5. The ending(0 out of 5)

The anti-climatic fight basically annoyed me but it took them 3 books to discover, Alix wasn't the issue but Steve was....every single character is a complete dumbass. Even my baby Nolan. It basically is in your face all 3 books long...Steve is the cause of every single thing that has happened....

But the focus is on Alix...even when Nolan and the others know Steve is up to something they still utilize his help....

Steve is the cause of everything. Jack even mentions this early on in the book but wastes no time to call on Steve....he is a dumbass yes but I expected Jack to have some sense of common sense.

The biggest moment of all that made me roll my eyes...Jack becomes a leech. And that would be okay except...of course Jack

A. Gets a power that saves him(And Nolan dies).

B. He gets the power of basically ever Leech he has seen and can copy their powers and take them away(see Steve).

Okay.

It ends with a happily ever after for Jack and Nolan and looking in on friends/family...and it is absolutely ridiculous. I was so hurt reading this ending.

6. Overall:

As you can see I am a bit pissed because going in, I expected great things from Nolan. And on the character of Nolan, I was not disappointed.

But the fact of the matter is this is Nolan's book and Nolan is treated as a secondary character...I can understand to Caleo but to jack? No...At least Jack got most of his book to himself....Nolan has to share the spotlight...I guess that should have been my first sign he was going to die.

It's not fair to the character. he deserves better.

But an incredibly anti-climatic battle, characters realizing the true enemy was Steve not alix AT THE last minute, and Jack basically becoming Overpowered....ruined this book and I am so disappointed with this ending.

Nolan you were great and you deserved so much better than this....but I will say I am glad for James showing me the sexy beast that is Nolan.

At last, we have the final book in the Leech trilogy for me to review, having finished it.

So, here's where I'm at with this book. As usual, there are some spelling and grammatical errors throughout, but I do feel like this book is the most polished as far as spelling and grammar go out of all three. The formatting for this book is also very cleaned up and the font the book is written in is much easier on the eyes than the font used in the other two books.

Now, I do think this was a pretty decent conclusion to the Leech trilogy. Again, the combat moments feel a little confusing and rushed at times, but overall the events that happen are a decent close to the story. And it ended in a way that made me quite happy. Plus, Mickey. Mickey is arguably the best character in the entire trilogy in my personal opinion, and he shines pretty bright in this book.

Here's my one issue with it all:

But overall I'm happy I've finished reading this series, and I'm glad that I bought it. I definitely enjoyed the world and concept that Crawford created, and if he ever chooses to revisit this world or build a similar one, I'd like to see what he writes next and how he grows as a writer.

Definitely mixed feelings on this one. First, I am happy to read about Caleo, Jack, and Nolan again but so much happens so fast that it was difficult to keep up with them. It was also difficult to remember who the enemy is since it is always changing. I know there's a war going on and people dying left and right; however, I wish there could've been more personal interaction among the characters. There's anger, betrayal, confusion, love, and jealousy but not enough expression of these emotions. As another reviewer pointed out, Nolan and Caleo never got a chance to talk about the situation, especially as it drastically changes. Finally, the ending needed a lot of clarification. I didn't know who was where, or even who was alive and who was dead. Unlike in the first two novels, characters drop out quickly without others taking their place. Nevertheless, there is enough action and suspense to recommend this book to those who want to finish the series.

Wonderful series!, July 2015
I've enjoyed this ride from the beginning back when we were barely getting to know Caleo, Jack, & the whole Leech world. Nolan was a great sequel with several new twists! His character has been one of my favorites ever since we were introduced in the previous book. The whole mixed feelings love triangle made it hard to decide which team to choose! Crawford has created a wonderful getaway for us that is action packed, emotional, & very entertaining! I truly never saw that coming!! I am eager to see what kind of awesome he brings us next.

Good book with a million typos. I felt the story concluded well. Overall it wasn't my favorite series but I find the world interesting and the characters compelling enough to want to love. Really didn't like Nolan's character from the beginning so I was okay with the conclusion. Enjoyable Read.

This is titled Nolan and we do learn a lot about his past, however the POVs in this book remain to Jack and Caleo. However, the name Nolan is very important. This book pushes more the triangle relationship with Caleo stuck in the middle between Jack and Nolan. Although I will say there was a shower scene in book 2 where Jack and Nolan were naked that I thought it could really go somewhere and end up in a very complicated triangle with the 3rd wheel being dumped by 2 guys lol. However it still remained with Caleo at the center. Nolan does everything to save Caleo and agrees to work with his brother (Steve) to erase Caleo's mind. Steve also forces Jack to talk with the govt to get them to attack the Leeches, Jack also ends up learning more about the history of Leeches and notices that there is only a discussion of one Angel, yet in the Leech "bible" there are 2 different angels drawn. Jack is captured and then is presumed deceased when is tranfered to another location where they are holding Leeches. Caleo gets his memory back by accident and is heartbroken so leans on Nolan for comfort. However when Jack and Caleo meet up it causes tension between them and Nolan himself is pissed at the connection that is between them. When they attack and Caleo is able to kill the Angel, his grandfather, and then they are betrayed by Steve with Nolan paying the price. Jack close to death wanting to save Caleo wants to become a Leech to die and save his love. He end up turning into a Leech but with a variety of powers to take on Steve and end the struggle. Caleo and Jack now become the law enforcement on Leeches as well as their protectors in the epilogue. Below in the Spoiler section are questions I asked of the author and his replies, so should be read after completing the series.

Nolan (Leech, #3)
By James Crawford
Four stars

I really did enjoy this series, by a young author, that is a sort of teenage apocalypse action adventure. At the heart of the Leech books is the love between best friends Jack Barley and Caleo Anima, raised as siblings by a crusty older woman who runs an inn. The YA core story here—Caleo’s secret love for Jack, and Jack’s inability to admit his love for Caleo, is the lynchpin of this rather wild story of a race of super-humans (not unlike the Mutants of the X-Men world) and their internal politics. Some of the Leeches just want to be left alone; while others want to enslave humanity and rule the world. (Again, the similarity to X-Men can’t be denied.)

Nolan, the title character, doesn’t get as much page time as one might expect, but he is a key player in the nearly operatic last act. His relationship with Caleo is crucial; but it is Nolan’s brother Steve who is the archnemesis here, his ability to autotransport (apparate in Hogwarts terms) makes him into a troublemaking will-o-the-wisp (young people, go google that). My largest disbelief in this whole series is that nobody seems to zero in on Steve as the real problem from the get-go. This leads to another overall comment—these kids are all semi-incompetent and whiny the whole time. But, oddly enough, that’s something I grew to like in this book, because the teenagers never stop being teenagers. Their world has been literally blown to bits, and they have been thrown into a life that seems to be either living hard or running for their lives. But, in moments of quiet, they revert to their eighteen-year-old selves (or maybe nineteen by the end of the series). These are young people on the cusp of figuring things out, and then the Leeches turn their world upside down. “I thought we had it bad, living in the burnt out basement. At least there we had a couple of days in between people trying to kill us.”

Perhaps one of the most effective and frustrating aspects of the series is that you’re never quite sure who the enemy is at any given time. The Blessed are Leeches sworn to protect humanity from evil Leeches. But, under the influence of the uber-Leech, Alix, known as The Angel, they seem to have become something sinister. I say seem to be, because sometimes they help and sometimes they try to kill our heroes. The fact that Caleo seems somehow to be The Angel as well is a mystery that is only partially explained.

There is a lot of killing in this book, some of it graphic, and nobody is untainted. I liked this and this bothered me, both. The moral ambiguity of the whole epic is both smart and frustrating. We all want our heroes to be pure, but even the gentle, bullied, beautiful Caleo is not allowed to be unsullied. We have to focus on his moral purity, because we know his heart, and we know his intentions.

The whole series reads like a complicated, visually explosive, very violent video game. The writing is pretty good, but the grammar and editing are slipshod. Crawford keeps the pace up, and we do really come to know the main characters well enough to understand them. I hope Mr. Crawford keeps writing and keeps on improving. His voice is interesting in this world of gay fiction, and I always like interesting.

This is the third book in the Leech series. I really enjoyed it.

Jack Barely is a fantastic character. I loved him from when I met him in the first book, Caleo. He is a very confident young man, who usually has a great sense of humour. However, he has one regret: that he didn't tell Caleo how he felt about him.

Caleo Anima is a wonderful character. I really liked him. He is a warm and loving young man, but because of his pale skin and snow white hair, he is seen as an oddity and is shunned by most of his peers. He is a Leech, someone with an extraordinary power. He can manipulate temperatures and can freeze people and things with only a touch. He also has a destiny as the one true Angel.

Unfortunately, due to my rather large reading list, I've not been able to read this book as quickly as I would have liked. In fact, it's taken me two years to get to read it since I purchased it and I apologise to the author for the delay.

This book continues on from the end of Jack (Book 2) and follows on with the view points of Caleo and Jack. The war between the two camps of Leeches is still raging. Caleo is still struggling with his growing feelings for Nolan, and Jack is determined to find both Caleo and Nolan and escape the clutches of Steve.

Although this book is named Nolan, I found myself slightly disappointed that there were no scenes in Nolan's POV to match the other books. I loved the first two books, but this one seemed to have lost something in its telling and it didn't give me that same excited feeling when reading. This made me feel a little sad.

As the story progressed, I realised how much I had missed the characters. They are likeable (apart from Alix and Steve) and lifelike. There are a lot of new characters introduced, but they never really made a huge impression on me and I can't even recall their names. I was glad, however, to get to know Mickey a lot more.

I was completely entertained by the fast paced storyline. This kept me turning the pages to find out what was happening. There are a few battles, as well as a few touching scenes that had me riding on a roller coaster ride of emotion. There are also a couple of surprising twists that I never saw coming. I love the way Caleo's and Jack's relationship has grown throughout the series. I think Nolan being thrown into the mix may not have done the storyline any favours as I am not a fan of love triangles at the best of times. However, other readers may have a differing opinion on this point. I will leave it up to you to decide for yourselves.

The story ended in such a way that I was satisfied with it; it does not end on a cliffhanger in case you were wondering.

james crawford has written another fast paced novel that kept me hooked from the first page! I love his writing style, it's easy to get lost in the world he has created. I look forward to reading more of his work in future.

This is a fantastic book in an amazing series. I highly recommend this book if you love LGBT, YA/Paranormal/Science Fiction genres. - Lynn Worton

In the other two books, I didn't see as many errors as other people were mentioning. This book though was riddled with them. On multiple occasions, I had to reread lines to hash out what was trying to be conveyed. Words were constantly missing or needlessly repeated. It was distracting.

The entire ending of this book was pretty anti-climatic. Nolan's death was absolute garbage. He tries to commit suicide to save Caleo (also Jack had no qualms about shooting him if he didn't which is messed up). Then, Steve, who has been a thorn in this book's side the entire time because he's clearly the baddie yet we somehow get hung up on Alix, kills him. I'm almost willing to forgive it because yes, he did claim at the beginning that he would be the one to kill his brother, but it makes Nolan's already stupid gesture worse because it means that Steve got his essence which means Caleo is still dying.

To save the day, Jack becomes a Leech in the worst and biggest example of Deus Ex Machina I've ever seen. He gets all of the powers that he's ever seen from the Angel? Really? And he has complete mastery over all of them so that he can save the day, but more importantly to him Caleo. We're not even gonna explain the whole Angel appearing to him thing? Like... it was weird and didn't make much sense to me after what we've been told about the Angel up until this point.

To be clear, I'm not mad that Jack is a Leech. I assumed that eventually he would be. I was waiting for it in book 2 to be honest. I'd have been super fine with that. Sure, you loose the character that the reader is supposed to relate to because he's human, but again, I'd have been fine with that. What I'm not fine with is this Rogue X-Men garbage. I didn't even think it was great when Caleo could use other people's powers by touching them, but at least I could accept it. Jack just being able to call powers to his memory exactly at the right second that he needs them. No, unacceptable.

I definitely feel that there was a better way to end this series. I feel awful for basically just crapping on this last book, but honestly, I expected more.

Wrapping up the series is Nolan. I like the characters and the ideas, but have some challenges with the execution:

-The other two books were written from the POV of the character whose name graces the cover. This one is not at all from Nolan POV.
-There are several pages where I felt like I missed something or misread and, after re-reading several times, realized that it it was written that way. The author know what's going on in his head, but sometimes misses the ball in clueing the reader in.
-Typos, Wrong words, grammar issues, etc. seem to plague the author in the third installation.

Overall it felt like the author had envisioned it as a trilogy, but, when it came around to the final book, got bored/tired/lazy and gave up.

This book did, however, make me feel nostalgic for home (having graduated high school in Mercer County and my grandparents were from Butler County). Name drops like Moniteau made me chuckle.

Also, the series was good. I think the author needs a little more experience and polish (and a better editor) and he could be on to something.

I realize more at the last book of this series that I am very kind to it, regarding my ratings.

This series, I find, really had a lot of potential. I really did like it, I really did, but it had so many things that I found a bit scattered or not really thought out that much. There were very exciting scenes, there were also very romantic scenes. But I felt like these scenes where not fully realized and that I was robbed of scenes that could have been so much more powerful.

I love Caleo and all his innocent soul.
I love Jack for being such a metaphorical pining power-bottom.
Nolan, though... DICK!

Could have been better. But I'll remember it, though.

Unlike the other two books in this trilogy, Nolan doesn't actually follow Nolan very much. It bounces between him, Jack, and of course Caleo.
This book is the climax and while most of it is as moderate paced as the other two, the most important scene seems almost rushed, then the pace slows down again. It was still a very enjoyable, quick read.
Nolan by far has the most errors that the author's editor overlooked; including missing punctuation, missing words, incorrect words. The missing and incorrect word errors did slow my reading pace down, thus making my adventure with this book last a day longer than I had intended.
I give this book 4 of 5 Paws and hope the author will perhaps give us a reason to revisit our immortal friends; and find a better editor.

I thoroughly enjoyed books 1 & 2 (Caleo & Jack) and this book was good, it just was not as riveting to me. Don't get me wrong, lots of action and adventure and some comedic aspects but I just felt that something was missing and sadly, I cannot explain what that might be. I will say that the ending was a surprise and I am glad the way the story plays out. I like the closure provided in the book. I am certainly glad that Steve got his comeuppance. The writing style of James Crawford is great and the narration by Jason Lovett added to the experience. A very good series.

This is the third installment of this series about humans with supernatural powers .

At first I didn't know where this was going but as soon as Nolan and Caleo made love I knew that Nolan wasn't gonna make it to the end . It kind of irked me that Caleo was so weak at that time but yeah anyway great ending Jack was my favorite with Nolan second and Mickey third Jillian comes in forth with Caleo in fifth overall a decent read thanks for sharing your story .

Terrific...but horrible editing.

Absolutely love the Leech series! The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat and is never dull. I honestly couldn't put it down. But for some reason Book 3 was HORRIBLY edited. If it even was at all! Especially the middle to end. Looking past all the spelling, grammatical and word choice mistakes became difficult at times but nonetheless. I finished it and I still recommend this series highly.

I didn't really write reviews for book one and two so I am going to kind of review the whole series in this one. First the narrating was very good. I thought he did a good job bringing life to these characters.

I was afraid to read or listen to the series at first. The name of the very nice and caring main character, Caleo Anima and the word Leech in the blurb made me feel confused and repulsed, just as some of his fellow high school students might have felt by his strange looks and weird name. I can kind of feel them but not in the cruel way that they treated him.

But the bullying isn't the main part of the story. Neither is the fact that Caleo is gay. Yes his sexuality plays into it as the series goes along and not one but two young men express feelings for him and he has to choose...maybe?

The story revolves around the leeches. Not the gross, blood-sucking, water dwellers, but beings that have angel blood in them, giving each of them a strange ability that is superhuman. It changes for them all. The conflict of the story arises not just between humans and leeches, but two sets of leeches. One that mostly has respect for human life and wants the two to coexist, while the other set wants to rule over humanity believing that their gifts makes them superior.

Besides the leeches and humans, there are two special beings in the book known as angels. Not the winged angels, but two leeches with power unlike the others. Only one should exist, and that is just one of the things the leeches are fighting over.

This isn't a romance, it's more of a ya journey of self discovery set among political conflict, betrayal, and revenge. Over the series so much happens. I found myself happy at times, and sad. There is closeness among some of the characters, and I couldn't help but want to be among them myself. There are a lot of ups and downs for sure, but as the story climaxes, I wanted to scream at the author. I thought the series would end bleaker than anything I ever read until he surprised me as well as some of the characters.

When it was all over, there was a little disappointment. A few deaths that I wish could have not been included, but were realistic in the way that casualties are expected with the type of war going on. I was happy at the relationship that Caleo had at the end though. I felt like the author did a good job wrapping everything up but I was still left wanting more. After all that the characters went through, that I went through with them, I just wasn't ready to be rid of these characters yet. I definitely can see myself relistening to these books at a later date.

I'm not going to go into a detailed review but I will say after reading other reviews that I did love this book. I even read the last 10% slowly because I was so happy with the outcome. Overall the whole series was really good but I will say this, all three books need to be cleaned up by a professional and if that ever happened I'd love to have these books in paperback for my bookshelves as long as the covers didn't change because I loved all three of the covers sooo much!

As long as you don't get too distracted by errors in books I'd say to give it a try.

Thank God this book is OVER!
It was better than the other ones because it had a purpose!! yay!!! The story had an actual plot that made sense... sort of... And an ending ... which was kind of weird.. On that note there were still piece that didn't make sense like why try to kill Alix and not Steve which was responsible for most of the crap that was happening... I mean really??? You know it was him who is responsible for everything all along and yet you don't go after him until the final book!! I mean he was the real psycho!!
The characters were ok I guess.. Caleo seamed weak throughout the whole book.. which was weird because he was the Angel, the most powerful of the Leeches. Jack was a little disconnected from reality, because he didn't actually react to everything that was happening around him! Nolan was ok I guess I liked the back story but he was a bit dry, he didn't seem to have much emotions towards anything else other than Caleo.
Also the writing and the editing was better in this book, but still it seemed really rushed.
Overall, this trilogy was bad, and I am so glad it is over!!!!

I was going to give it 2 stars, but bumped it up to three. (because of the HEA) I found this book, nay this entire series frustrating, and not just because of the blatant grammatical errors, Caleo, Jack and Nolan constantly do THE WRONG, DAMN THING! I don't know how to hide spoilers within reviews, so I'll just say I was terribly disappointed with what Caleo did when he thought Jack was dead. I don't consider that a spoiler because, please, I mean COME ON! Jack isn't going to die, this isn't a George RR Martin book after all! Any way, I kept asking myself, why the hell I was reading this thing and suffering though it. Because I spent a whole dollar on it, that's why! However, unlike a few other readers, I was satisfied with the ending, though it was rushed. I found a few things a little confusing but then realized they were supposed to be confusing because the characters were confused. All this is to say, I didn't hate it.

Cute, sweet and great characters

I really enjoyed the final book of this series. I think the author did a great job wrapping everything up and giving us closure. I just love Jack and I was happy that a lot of this book was from his perspective again. I like all the characters and think there was great character development through all three books. The story concluded well and I feel like everything was answered. I'm completely happy with this ending. I really love the world the author created in these books and I'm kind of hoping there will be a spin-off series so we can run into the characters I loved from this series.

I am not satisfied with that ending. Okay I did cheer for Jack&Caleo to be a couple but the way how Caleo played around with Nolan and agreeing to be with him because he is a leech and will always be with him and Jack is a human and will die eventually is a big bullshit. So happy ending with Jack at the end is very forced.

In that book I really did not like main character Caleo.

The tried books is very unsatisfying even if we get happy ending. Author "James Crawford" blow it in third book .

Awesome!!!!

Ok, no spoilers... Such a great conclusion. I absolutely love the Jack/Caleo/Nolan triangle. So much drama and suspense. I have always been, and continue to be, firmly team Caleo + Jack, but damn I do love that big merman. Nolan is a great character. Thanks for a wonderful series.

I don't know if that was horrible or perfect, but I'd just go with good enough.

I was waiting for something though. Something like... character development, I guess. Especially to Jack, ugh! Out of all the characters I've known in all of the books I've read, Jack has a special place in my heart. Please note the sarcasm.

Awesome ending to great series
Just like Nolan's predecessors this was a very well written action packed story. The author does a phenomenal job at drawing you in and leading you through to the end. The characters are fantastic and can fill you with so many emotions. Wonderful series. Definitely recommend.

INTENSE

Due to avoiding a spoiler alert, I will say I was greatly disappointed in the direction this Book was heading, but not revealing why. Thankfully the plot redeemed itself and the right man won !!!
