To the naked eye, Veda Vandyke has it all. An amazing boyfriend who’s madly in love with her—with savage bedroom skills that bend her spine nightly, a flourishing medical career that brings her a sense of accomplishment, and even a few new friends who keep her in good spirits when times get tough. But Veda Vandyke has a secret. A dark secret. A secret that could erase every inch of adoration that gleams in her boyfriend’s eyes. That could end her medical career and land her in prison for life. It was a secret that could cost her every loyal friend she’s made since returning to that sleepy island called Shadow Rock. Veda Vandyke has a secret… and an insatiable thirst for revenge. She wants revenge more than she wants friends. She wants it more than professional success. She wants it more than the tantalizing, forbidden love of her beautiful Italian boyfriend, Gage Blackwater. She wants revenge more than she wants a friendship with that brooding detective, Lincoln Hill, the man who'd saved her life. The man who's closing in on her secret much faster than she’d care for, reminding her that a prison cell is just one foolish mistake away. But Veda Vandyke doesn’t plan on making any foolish mistakes. Her only plan? Finish her medical residency with minimal drama, exorcise the darkness that invades her heart like a virus, and become the kind of woman who deserves Gage Blackwater’s undying love. Veda knew she wasn’t that woman. Not yet. Not until she finishes destroying every last monster who’d destroyed her, ten years ago, on that sleepy island called Shadow Rock. — TINGLE is an interracial romance. Triggering elements. Strong sexual content. Strong language. This story ends in a cliffhanger. The Revenge Series is written to unfold over multiple volumes. Book 1: Quiver Book 2: Tingle Book 3: Coming Soon

I'm fascinated by deeply flawed people in impossible situations, and insane people who don't know they're insane. Perfection puzzles me, so my characters are always just a little bit evil--whether they know it or not!

*Blurb*

My review: Honestly, the blurb says it all. This is book 2 and the shit keeps on rolling. Veda metes out justice to the 2nd of 10 men who had raped and left her for dead nearly a decade earlier. Meanwhile, her relationship with Gage hits a dead end while Linc continues to fascinate her. This ends with a cliffy; so, be warned.

I absolutely loved this one. It was funny. It was suspenseful. It was romantic. I wasn't expecting a lot of revenge. The revenge in this series is very slow going. I don't know if I will read 8 more books, but I certainly plan to read book 3.

Another "10" Star Read

Better than the first one, more suspenseful ... full of heart-stopping moments that I nearly stopped breathing! This one had me on the edge of my seat!

=============>UPDATE:<=============
=>Purr - Book 3 (The Revenge Series) by Trevion Burns<=
=======>Coming November 2016
<=======

"Purr" Teaser #1
Veda drank in his naked ring finger. "Linc, don't you want to find her anymore?"

He cut a look at her ... "All I think about is finding her ... but I won't see you get hurt."

"Purr" Teaser #2
It had to be someone else.
It couldn't be him.

She clawed her nails down his back, a moan tearing through her as he found her G-spot with his thick, smooth fingers. She threw her head back with a breathy moan and he took advantage of the exposed underside of her chin, covering it with heated kisses. Her moans moved to whimpers.

No one who made her feel this good could be her number ten.

He couldn't be.

Can't please them all...

Let me preface this with saying that I absolutely adore this author. And a month ago, I would tell you that the first book in this series, Quiver, was my favorite work by her. So where did this go wrong for me?

The main character, Veda is an absolute bumbling idiot. Even though they set this up to be along the lines of Count of Monte Cristo/ Revenge the TV show. A lot of the time, there was so much waffling/angst/indecisiveness from Veda. I really didn't feel like the plot moved as much as it should have. It sped up at the end by adding new players and making it appear as if a love interest is one of the major villains. But it wasn't enough for me to want to read the next book in the series. I will admit that maybe I had my hopes too high for this book. Maybe it's because I couldn't suspend my disbelief for many things like the anal sex scene or the fact that there are numerous people that go missing from this islands every couple of months/years. I could have accepted this if this was a book in the science fiction genre but this book is supposedly grounded in reality and frankly that would be too preposterous to think that the elite could get away with it for so long. Even to the point of having the wife of a detective disappear.

I suspect that I am in the minority for giving a less than stellar review and I am glad for that. Because Ms. Burns is a superb writer. She deserves her loyal fanbase. This book just wasn't where I expected the story to go and that's okay. Very little grammatical errors, colorful main characters and quirky side characters made this book interesting enough to finish it in one day. Here's to hoping that Veda gets to exact her revenge by the end of the series.

2022: still in shock at how good this series is.. lol definitely DO NOT remember them being this short because omg. going through them like water.

2016: I read this book in one complete sitting immediately after finishing the first book, and I'm having mixed feelings.

The first book I considered a strong 6 stars, and this one I'm feeling like 3.5 (whether rounding up or down I can't really decide that)!! YET AGAIN A MOMENT OF CURSING GOODREADS FOR NOT HAVING HALF STAR OPTIONS.

The characters I still love. But this time my love shifted more from Veda to Linc and Gage. Gage because he'll just never stop loving with all of him and then Linc because I mean come on? He's Linc? And ok there's an issue here when I'm potentially shipping someone else with the heroine more than the hero.

But then other times I'm not shipping ANYONE with Veda! Because Veda is too busy getting on my nerves with her secrets and lies!!!! So busy that I just want to hold Gage and shield him away from the lie that is his lover because I couldn't take itttttt. Veda just kept getting on my nerves with how little she was opening up to the important people around her. I just didn't get it.

And then another con, the sex being used in place of them making up. Come ooooooon.

And ANOTHER con, was the cliché of the spy. Fiction or not, I just don't believe in any case that it's that easy to spy on someone and get all that viable information that easily without getting caught. I just don't see it. He had to be a freaking invisible spirit to get some clear pictures like that of exactly everything he wanted and needed it of. No way dude. No way.

I really enjoyed this book. I was on edge, but I was also waiting for things that never came. But the series isn't over. I just don't know if I'm willing to keep reading for the CHANCE that it ends on the right foot. Apparently this is a long series, and that is not my cup of tea. I need answers, and I need them now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But since that won't be happening for another 8 books, no thanks. Even though it hurts that I won't be getting answers... adios! I enjoyed Linc, Gage, Coco, and Veda (on a good page) while it lasted! *blows farewell kiss*

((Even though I will definitely be reading the sample for book 3 just because I'm nosey and apparently like to torture myself))

Loved It

Omg I knew it I knew it. Not giving anything away but Trevion I think I had a mild panic attack finishing this book. I can't wait to book 3. Please please let it come out soon.

Number 10 can't be who I think it is. I still need to know what happened to Linc's wife. Celeste needs to go down she irks my soul. I'm still team Veda and Gage but I might be team Veda and Linc too. I'm so confused lol

Love your book can't wait for the next one.

Happy Reading!

3.5 I really want to like this series. I am interested in if she will finally get revenge, but she is so frustrating. Gage is a psychopath and I don't understand why she can't see it. I'm confused...lol

Wow

I wish she could have been truthful with Gabe because all this is going to backfire. I hope his whole family get what's coming to them especially his Mother, but I think his Dad had something to do with it and Linc is going to have to save her. Hope it's not a long wait for the next story.

Dark Revenge MF Romance

Revenge series are one of my absolute things types of series.

Veda is hell bent on revenge and had gone through something awful that warrants it. She is making her way through her kill list and ensuring what happened to her can't happen to someone else.

I love her. She is strong, capable, and intelligent. And absolutely determined to see it through to the end.

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Recommend for those who like the Mindf*ck series by S.T. Abby.

Feeling let down

I enjoyed the first book and really looked forward to reading this. I'm disappointed as I'm not pumped like I'd like to be for the next book. This book felt weird and confusing with more questions than answers. The book was also extremely long for the way it ended, and repeated itself quite a bit.

This book was as good as the first. Veda is still on her quest to extract revenge but now she's not just working for retribution for herself, but for others who have been victims of the men who brutalized her.

There were many times where I just wanted Veda to stop and really think about what she's doing, to quit altogether bearing she's had so many, too many close encounters of being caught and arrested. Her thirst for revenge has made her a bit sloppy, painted a rather obvious target on her back. But she's in too deep, and as she learns more details about those on her Kill Bill hit list of sorts and their connection to other cases of missing underage girls, it fuels her. She did a lot of back and forth with herself on whether she should stop versus keep going and I felt that was human and realistic. But at times I really did want to slap her.

I loved her relationship with Gage in Quiver, but in this one I found it not as explosive, and kind of a hindrance. Gage is like Veda's drug; she uses him to keep the darkness at bay, and when he's not around to give her orgasms she becomes single-minded and obsessive. They're in love but they hardly know anything real about each other for me to believe that they're fated soulmates and all that jazz. I feel she has a deeper connection with Linc who I like a lot more than Gage because he's not polished, and he responds to Veda in a way he doesn't to anyone else. So when they have scenes dedicated to them, I grin like a loon. Plus the fact he took his mama's advice and put on a button down when he went to see Veda, *cue fangirl squeals*.

Gage was just too weak for me at times, too emo, and I'm not against men showing emotion, I love it, but he was watered down in this book. He made a sacrifice for Veda and their relationship, but I don't know if he really does have the gravitas to stand by her side should everything blow up in her face. If she ever tells him the full and real truth, that is. Guess, I'll see in the next book.

And as for who I think the 10th man who raped Veda is, it might be Gage's father, but I would hate, HATE for it to be Gage. Does he have a brother we don't know about? A cousin? I hope it doesn't take 8 more books for that answer to be revealed.

This book really dragged for me. A lot of repetition. Veda's indecisiveness was getting on my nerves. If your sole purpose for being back in Shadow Brook is to exact revenge, then why is she so on the fence about doing just that?!?!?! And she's so clumsy about it which means maybe her heart really isn't in it. Maybe she needs to take a step back and plan better. Wait a year and try again. Also, how can all these people go missing in a small town and it not be national news?!?!?!?! And the local police seems so complacent about it. I guess as a reader we are supposed to suspend belief for the sake of the story. Anyway, I really love Linc. Gage is creepy, super intense in the non-sexy way and could be one step from being a serial killer. I mistakenly read Captive first so I know who Veda ends up with. I can see why people were so disappointed.

Ooh La La This is so look good!!!

I adore this series, adore it and definitely did not want it to end when it did. Trevion Burns you are a one in a lifetime author. You have such an incredible way with words, the way you build on action, suspense, emotion is amazing and we'll done. Kudos to you my friend keep up the excellent work. Now to those that don't like series, cliffhangers or multi-part books, too bad for you I LOVE it. I'm the type of reader that prefers series to movies. Series last longer and they allow me glimpses into my favorite characters even when I know they have already received their happily ever after.

I mean, Veda sure is lucky. Gage is willing to do ANYTHING to be with her and keep her in his life. I am actually feeling sorry for ol boy. He needs to get up from his knees for this woman, she is walking all over him and whatever she got going on with Linc, I believe is inappropriate. I can't figure out if she really truly loves Gage or not. All I know is, he's got it BAD. Now, question remains, could he possibly be connected to her attack 10 years ago? Geez, I pray he is not! Then I retract all my feeling sorry for him musings in this review lol

Are you kidding me!!!!!!

OMG! My heart is literally in my damn throat. Sigh this series might give me a high BP lol but a BP worth having. The thrill and heart stopping moments in this book was so crazy. I’m definitely happy that I started reading this series when all the books are out because I think I would be pulling my hair out while waiting to see what happens next. Sigh... deep breaths... so now I’m about to start book 3 and see what happens there.. lol even thought I’ve read some of the reviews and guessed. 😉

Funny, messed up plans, too many unplanned mistaken mishap with the revenge and the nearly getting caught crime had me shouting at Verda on many occasion while reading this 2nd book! Can't wait to read the 3rd......my anticipation is at an all time high.

WOW!!!

The suspense is killing me, luckily I don't have to wait for the next book. Now, both Gage and Veda are suspected each other for different reasons. Will their love survive this mess!? Will Jake be able to keep Veda's secret?
So much mystery and intrigues!!
Well, I'm ready for book 3!!

Another rollercoaster book. Veda sets out on target number 2 while building her relationship with cage and friendship with Linc. As swoon worthy cage was in the first book I couldn’t help feeling they’re just too opposite and also she wants to destroy his friends! This could be one of the best series I’ve read

This was a good read but I don't think I can go a whole entire 8 more books on this same situation. Hopefully, she'll combine 2 or 3 of her intended victims into a single book to make this series shorter, or else I guess I'll just be left wondering what happens...

A need for some speed!

This story has great potential however, the author of more effort in fact, way to much in the erotica. This story can be a block buster but there seems to be a drag in the plot for revenge. I just hope the next release moves a little quicker.

Gage really loves Veda and his entire family sucks. They are so manipulative and show love only when Gage is being the dutiful child. Tough times are ahead for Veda for sure.

This is my review and how I see it. This series keeps getting better and better! Author Trevion Burns keeps adding to the suspense as Veda is searching for that elusive tenth male. She has an amazingly jealous boyfriend...their one-night stand turned into so much more or did she turn him out, after all, he did catch her crashing his engagement party...

This is my review and how I see it.
