Arriving at Mordeaux Castle to claim the woman he loves, Lady Nicola Mortimer, Fawkes de Cressy finds that she is no longer the woman he once knew and vows to discover the dark secret that is tormenting her so that they can start a new life together, one filled with trust, love, and passion. Original.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give this 1 star or 2. Usually when I give 1 star I can’t even stand to finish the book, but I did read the whole book. This could have been a much better story, but it just seemed the plot was only there to loosely link the sexy bits together. I love romance novels. I really do not mind explicit sex scenes, but this was over kill for my taste. If you are looking for something to steam up your dreams this is not a bad choice. Another thing that takes this book down to the bottom for me was, Nicola was not very likeable. She was a liar and she knew that she was so very wrong. The most annoying part was she kept lying. Again and again and again. For a short while, I was hoping something would happen to her and Fawkes would find a nice girl.
