Museums ~ Galleries ~ Art Critics
The art world is full of sharks as Scott Hill tries to navigate its dark waters while fostering a secret love for the wild and beautiful painter, Lilly.

Lilly is a full time artist. As any artist knows, it is difficult to get your work displayed in an art gallery. As it turns out, Lilly is a wonderful artist. Her engaging watercolors capture daily life in the small seaside town where she resides. Lilly is sweet indeed.

Lilly's lifestyle, on the other hand, is dictated by self destructive actions beyond her control. Lilly gradually falls in love with her artist neighbor, Scott, who does his best to help her succeed in the art world and life.

I spent most of my life gathering experience for my stories. It's hard to believe but from a young age I thought writing would be the ultimate art form. The various jobs that I've worked at are common; the number of different jobs I've worked at is uncommon.

Wall Street brokerage house clerk. Manhattan taxi driver. Wooden boat builder in Maine. Winter scallop diver in Maine. Fishing boat captain in the herring fishery from Massachusetts to Maine.
I founded Maine's first grape vineyard and winery:
Cellardoor Winery

As a visual artist I worked in oils, watercolors and flame-cut steel sculpture. Stephen King owns two of my pieces.

I have lived in Maine for most of my life and worked and played on Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Having lived on three different islands, several of my books are based on the island world. Few people ever get to experience this earthy life, filled with smart, passionate and intensely wild characters.
