Like the streets, love can be a sweet, yet heated affection. Heartbreak, love, betrayal, and trust are the main factors when it comes to loving a hustler. Kimora Wallace is a young woman, who has been forbidden to be in love with the man that she wants to spend the rest of her life with. While her mother is completely against their love affair and even tries to break them apart, will she continue to love and hold her man down? Will their love be able to withstand all obstacles in their way?
If you have done that then you are ready for this. Enjoy
This book was different for me because it didn’t have the guns blazing and the shootouts that I first thought when I saw this cover, I mean look at this cover. Nice right, I mean I thought so ooh the colors girl. The book of the week is Can’t Leave My Hustla Alone by Yasmine Davis. Side not Jamarion is fine oh my gosh. Ooh wee. If he was a neighbor across from do you know how many times I would walk from the house to the mailbox just to see him out his window. But enough of that, let’s get into him, it lets get into it. The story thrown me for a loop because I literally thought it was going to be about a boss and his wifey, but it wasn’t. It started off kind of sad because you see Jamarion in jail for a bust gone wrong. And his girl Kimora, is holding him down. But she has a few problems of her own mainly her mother. I just want to say for the record mom I love you very much. Yeah you heard right this mom made me have more respect for my mom because if my mom was like that. Yeah, yeah mom I love you So, Kimora is living with her parents who thought they broke up and at first her mom was cool with that but when Jamarion got out and they were everywhere together then yeah the monster came out. Ha. But Jamarion and Kimora are not without their problems. Jamarion makes this promise to Kimora that he was finally going to leave the streets and he did, he got a legit job and they moved to a different state but then the streets started calling. On Kimora end well, besides the love story I really thought this book was mostly about her. I felt like she was at war with everyone around her, except her best friend, they were cool. I mean, she had health problem, man problems, and family problems. She really had to make some real decisions. Personally, their relationship kind of pissed me off, well mainly because I wanted to be with him, but all jokes aside. Their relationship was rocky. Jamarion was feeling this pull back to the streets he just didn’t want to her Kimora and the whole time I’m thinking oh she going to find out. And Kimora I liked her and hated her sometimes I liked her because she held her man down and I was mad at her because of what she was doing to Jamarion. Oh, come on she was forcing her man to suppress a calling kind of sounds like her mom who forced her to make a choice between family and her man. I honestly feel like if there is a second book, I would want to see them apart, like epic break up. So, I can get with him oh yeah, kidding, kidding. But they need to be apart to grow individually. I feel like Kimora needs to find who she is outside of her family and Jamarion because I felt like she was just following her heart and that can be good thing but I felt like it was for the wrong reason. I mean she had no identity of who she was, she needs to find that and Jamarion I honestly want him to go back to the streets, hear me out though. The streets are either going to make him huge and give a better way to take care of Kimora or something is going to happen to where it is going to make him see the light of day and leave the streets. It’s a win win either way, come on. But seriously they need to find themselves apart to grow together. Yasmine thanks for hooking me up with this read and feeding my reading addiction. Ms. Mocha is signing out.
I really enjoyed this book. It almost made me miss my stop on my train ride to work. I love in New York. Will be reading her other books. Great story, cousin Yasmine.
I really enjoyed this story that focused on the love Jamarion and Kimora shared. I must admit Kimora held her man down to the fullest. Charlene and Jarel really pissed me off and I can't wait until all of Charlene's secrets are at the forefront. Lorel seems like a good friend but at the same time I feel as though there's more to her. Poor Denise. I hate the circumstances got so far gone that she didn't keep her promise to her sons. Now where did that bird Shante come from? She deserved just what Kimora dished out for her being disrespectful. For some reason I don't trust Rick. It's something about him that I feel will cause Jamarion to get caught up. Lawd knows Jamarion needs to check his temper and have better control when certain situations present themselves. Hopefully part 2 will be coming soon and Jamarion doesn't fail at keeping his promise for the one who holds his heart.
Love the relationship between Kimora and Jamarion the history was well detailed the courtship was cute the background was defined..... Let me say how proud of this order that I hardheaded but finally learned to pay attention that's right I love the story of what got me was the determination just like YAZZY this couple were determined to be together AGAINST all odd Kimora held on to her thug and I'm so proud of you babysista you wrote this book and it song to me ..... Now we gonna work on the some drama and forefront because girl I think you on to something listen learn keep being persistent you would definitely prevail.....GREAT JOB
This was very good book for the most part. Kimora's mother and brother is too annoying. Kimora got on my nerves too. She need to learn to stand up for herself to her mother smh. I applaud Jamarion for hanging in there but I don't see how he doing it lol. I hope Kimora fight for him more than what she doing for her parents eventually push him away. He definitely being patient smh. Something about Lorel is a lil off to me ever since Jamarion went to visit Amir at the house. I will read part 2 to see what become of Kimora and Jamarion's relationship.
I love how to young people shared so much love for each other no matter who tried to break their bond. Great read kept me interested from beginning until the end. Can't wait for part 2. Great job Yasmine Davis!
I enjoyed this book. Never read anything from author. Glad she reached out. The story was realistic to things that happen in relationships. Ready for Part 2.
