Fifteen year old Kitty Fields has had it with her parents. She hates school. She loved gymnastics, but she busted both ankles and had to drop out.
When her parents find out they've lost their house to foreclosure, Kitty decides to run away and try to make it on her own. As her journey to freedom unfolds, she discovers that living on her own isn't what she expected.
She tries living with a friend, discovers abandoned houses and apartments where she can shack up, and takes on a pet kitten. Then, she meets a guy who seems perfect for her. If only they had jobs to support themselves, life would be great.
Then life gets very complicated. Kitty finds herself in a place where she never imagined herself. What will her parents think?
Welcome to my Author Page on Goodreads! I am a full time writer working on my farm just outside Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm the mom of two young adults and a pre-teen, and I'm married to a great guy. We share our home with a Westie and two tabby cats, who keep life interesting at all times.
I've been writing since I was five years old, and writing has figured into my career one way or another my working life My life journey has taken me through law school, a brief career as a trial lawyer, seminary, and work as a Christian formation director and curriculum developer. Now that (most) college tuition bills are paid, I've devoted myself to my lifelong dream of writing novels.
My first young adult novel is Runaway Kitty, based on lots of the drama and situations I saw on a daily basis as a mom of teens. This might turn into a series. We'll see.
My next novel will be a period piece on the economic boom of the 1980's - and the sobering fall of the Yuppie glory days in the 1990's. The main character, Ginger, suddenly loses everything and ends up in Switzerland, Berlin, and Moscow as she tries to recover her money and her life. Stay tuned!
My non-fiction curriculum books are:

I usually don't read young adult books, but I really enjoyed this book. It's a very quick read, and it moves quickly. The writing is terrific, and the characters are interesting. I didn't expect this book to cover issues like poverty and juvenile delinquents, and the author tackled some deeper subjects than I expected. Highly recommended.
