In a small rural community in war-torn Asia, people live in fear of poverty, sorcery, and wild creatures. Among these wild myths is a mysterious bloodthirsty killer known in most circles as The Hangman of the Woods.

Every child is warned not to venture into the woods. The witches and their equally hated rivals, the believers, are known to frequent the dense stretch of forest. But none is as feared as the hangman. The witches and believers may have spells to bind you to them, but at least they usually let you live.

Few have seen the hangman and lived to tell about it. That is all about to change in this inspiring adventure of a young man and his quest to understand himself, his world, God, and yes, the Hangman of the Woods.

About the author

Growing up in Happy Valley, (nicknamed for the predominantly Mormon population of Utah County) I spent a lot of time playing in the desert and mountains. I loved hunting, fishing, off-roading, and all sorts of outdoor activities. During High school I got my pilot certificate, thinking that I'd like to be an airline pilot. That is until I decided that I didn't want to be a bus driver in the sky. (No offense meant towards bus drivers.)

When I graduated high school, I served a mission for the LDS church, wherein I spent 2 years preaching the gospel in the Philippines. Upon returning home, I went to college, got a degree from USU in Finance, then went to work full time as a General contractor. I also got married, got my MBA, and started writing part time.

This book was tons of fun to write. I got the idea to write it from a dream I once had several years ago when I wasn't getting much sleep. I'm not sure what anyone else will think when reading it. Most authors are encouraged to write to a specific audience, and to know who they are before they even start. I write for an audience of one--me. If others like my work, all the better.

Of course, I would say that this book might have appeal to young adults, adults, and possibly people interested in pre-apocalyptic or even slightly religious topics.

I'd give it a PG-13 rating for some violence.

As always, this is a clean read. I try to keep that annoying sexual content out of my books. I hate getting into a good novel, only to find myself skimming through several pages to get to the end of a pornographic scene. I want my books to be the type the whole family can enjoy.
