I don't know about "mastering," but this book provides an excellent introduction to modern wushu, including stances, stretches, hand/foot techniques and an introductory routine. In a year in which I've been exploring tai chi forms as well, I feel the Wushu stances/stretches in my approaching-middle-aged hips much more, but I like the physicality of the practice as a complement to other disciplines and a reminder of how elite athletes can train/move.
