Alex is a woman who never knew her parents, she was adopted at birth and has nothing that connects her to her birth family. She is an art student and a bartender, out on the worst tindr date of her life. The guy is a non stop talker and is boring as hell. She can't get in a word edgewise. When they are in the restaurant, Alex swears she can see someone watching her, so when her date goes to get the car, she crosses the street and hears her name being whispered, until her self centered date yells for her. When he is finally heading to drop her off, his car slams into something. They get out to find what he hit, and Alex watches as he is pulled up into the sky by some unseen creature, she tries to grab his ankles but can't catch him. She is then grabbed up and fangs sink into her neck. She wakes at home with Dom, Lisette, and Bronson, who she had met that night at the bar. She is told she is a powerful witch and that Dom was the one who gave her to her adoptive parents, because both her parents used too much magic and burnt out and died. She finds Bronson has been watching out for her family for thousands of years, and that he was the love of her many greats grandmother. He was attacked and turned vampire before he could finish an ancient right, where he would make love to her grandmother. Alex is a very powerful witch that needs to be protected and taught the craft so she can find the missing stone that will allow vampires to go out in the sun and act as if human. She finds herself attracted to Bronson, but in love with Dom.
As her powers increase she lights up like a beacon and attracts all the vampires that want the stone. Will she be able to help the ones she loves, or will the evil kill her before she can even do what she is fated to do?

I have to say this lady is starting to get good hardly any mistakes yes there is some typos, it still was very good. I'm enthralled at the very beginning right through to the end, not boring, Yep, I wanted to keep going. This book is really good, and I have to admit this is the best that Ms. Martha has written.
Alexandra is a human and a Tinder though she is tied of  all the losers she keeps getting. On one such time she literally ran into a Vampire, wait a vampire they're real? Well he told her, she is a very powerful witch like her great-grandmother, the females down her line, they're all witches.
Bronson, Lisette, and Dominic aka: Dom are Vampires who have traveled for decades being loyal to a promise that one of them  made. They also are looking for a stone, think they'll find it? Can a vampire walk around in broad daylight?
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Vampire and Witch love

This was a wonderful story of love that lives for centuries for a vampire and a witch through her granddaughter 3x removed. I loved how the writer made these vampire characters very likable. Alex is a student that was adopted with no knowledge of her parents. Bronson is a vampire who loved her great, great, great grandmother and is seeking a stone she his that will make him and other vamps able to walk in the day. Only Alex can find it, only she has no idea of her heritage as a great powerful witch. Bronson, Dom and Lisette protect her while she learns her craft. The whole time she and Dom are becoming more attracted to each other while Bronson also holds a place in her heart. Will she be turned to a vampire, can she trust them, will she find the stone? These questions and others lead her on a intriguing journey, full of danger, mystery, list, sexual tension, trust, self discovery and love. I loved this story and hope book 2 will answer any unanswered questions. Great read.

First of all, I want more!! When I read a book that I enjoyed as much as this one, it is almost necessary to have the other books in the series immediately available so you can keep learning about the characters.~ Secrets of a Vampire is considered paranormal romance but it is so much more than that. Its intriguing, the characters are relatable and the love story, of course, is central to the plot. I am giving it 4 stars and the only thing keeping it from 5 is a little of what I think of as character clutter. There's great back stories as well as necessary background detail but perhaps, for this reader, not enough concentration on just the 2 main characters. I have a feeling though that in the connected books this issue will make more sense to me as story details unfold. I loved Secrets of A Vampire and cannot wait to read more by Martha Woods.

Daywalker's Stone

Loved this book.
Story follows the life of Alexandra a.k.a. Alex.
Thinking she is just a normal young adult working as a bartender in Richmond, she soon discovers that things bump in the night and everything isn't just a myth as books perceived it to be.

Alex meets three Vampire's one night after having a serious bad date with self serving Matt, and soon she finds out that she is more than just adopted, but that she's a powerful witch too..

Follow the story and meet Dominic, Bronson and Lisette the vampires, you'll fall in love with them..

Quick read, but is packed with love, secrets, danger and adventure..

I read the Daywalker's Stone and loved it. With how the story was written, everything flowed smoothly and left you craving more. It was fast paced, short and easy to read. Gotta say I was really feeling the mythology. Alexandra's life is in danger. She radiates light like a beacon. With power like that, you can't help but draw unexpected visitors. She meets three vampires, Bronson, Lisette and Dominic who she feels a connection with and finds out that their lives have been more intertwined then she could of imagined. The men in this book are delicious. I like both Bronson and Dominic but I mean come on with the chemistry she shares with Dominic. There's potential there. *dreamy sigh*😍

What?

What happened here? I am so confused. The storyline didn’t make sense, nor did any of the characters have anything appealing about them. So she suddenly is making out with Dom, but WAIT! She makes out with Bronson too! But meh. That doesn’t cause any problems. Ever.
Why did Bronson bite her? His explanation didn’t make sense. Why was Estella threatening her one moment and training her the next? What was the point of Sam and Lisette?
I have so many questions, that I also really don’t care about being answered.
I’m very disappointed in this book. Sorry, Martha!!

Giddy

The adventure continues as Alex comes into her power. Meeting her biological father. Visiting her roots. Learning about her craft. Joining a coven. Getting her masters. And rescuing her boyfriend Dom. So yeah Dom goes missing and Alex is depressed until something happens to clue Alex in on what really is going on. Things aren't what they seem when those two vampires from book 1 make their appearance. This story continues to excite me. I'm left feeling giddy. Of course their are typos but like last book not enough to deter the plot.

I can't find the actual book for the second book of this series, but this was the title and author of the book. The description of this is for the first book. So what happens in the second book is the main character's boyfriend has gone missing. She has to save him from the evils that captured him before he dies. They find his location and have a battle. I thought this book was good. I do eventually want to read the third one.

Rushed ending

I would have given this 5 🌟s but the ending felt like it was rushed. Left me feeling like I was missing part of the story. Otherwise I love all the characters and look forward to reading the next book.

An unexpected treat! A vampire romance told in a premise I never before considered. I liked all the characters, but grew to love Alex and Bronson,Dom, Lisette and all the others. The ending was most satisfactory.

Just ok

Honesty I almost out this book down several times. It was hard to keep my attention with the frantic miss-match of stories. I get the objective, I’m not a fan of the path. It’s good enough and has a HEA.

Loved the book, felt ending was rushed thoury.

Great book, totally free me in. The only complaint I have is the end feels rushed. It just seems top quick. Almost like the author just wanted to end the book. I loved the characters and hope there is anor.

For a paranormal 'romance' book, this didn't have very much romance. And there were so many plot holes it was like walking through a rabbit warren with your eyes closed - you couldn't help but break your ankle.

Two stars for the author mostly being able to write decent English and for her clearly doing her research into witchcraft and the book location. It did feel like I was being fed the research notes at times but at least she had been thorough and put the effort and time in.

Amazing

I love the characters she has created. There is romance but there is mostly camaraderie between the characters. It left me wanting.

Not too bad

This story wasn't too bad. Not sure if it needs a part two or not. But a very interesting story especially if you like vampires and witches.
