My day job is about as uncreative as it gets. I do medical transcription, spending numerous hours at the computer each day trying to decipher the mumbled, garbled and often unrecognizable words the physicians are dictating, in an effort to make a complete and comprehensive patient record. It’s almost as bad as trying to read their handwriting!

3.50 Stars. Nate, a member of Carpenter Security Services, is shocked when his ex-fiancé shows up at his door. He hasn’t seen her in over three years, when she broke his heart. Once Nate realized Sheri’s situation, nothing would stop him or his fellow team members from protecting her from a dangerous, obsessed stalker.
Like with the other books in this Series, there is a good blend of action and romance. Though, not too much suspense, as the stalker’s identity was quite obvious. Now, I will say the book ended with suspense and intrigue by setting up the next book with Gunner as the lead.

Why did she call after all this time?
She had broken his heart when she left him. Now she wanted to talk why? After hearing her story he knew he wasn't letting her go again. They just needed to find out who and why. Another great story

I quickly fell in love with these characters and they way that Kathy Ivan writes! There was just a good feeling with these characters from the beginning, even though they have a past and have tried to move on, you still felt the connection between Sheri and Nate. I love how Nate was still willing to drop everything and take care of Sheri even though they were not still seeing each other, and also the way that Sheri felt she could still run to Nate for help even after their relationship had ended.
Sheri has been getting threats from someone for some time now, even when her and Nate were still together. Sheri never told Nate about the threats though because she was hoping that they would just go away. When they ended up getting worse instead of better, she started to worry about her own safety as well as Nate's. Sheri broke things off with Nate in order to keep him safe, but once the threats still came in even though she was not dating Nate, Sheri feared for the worst. Sheri had not been in contact with Nate for some time, but was able to find him now due to her over protective father and his good research that he kept on the men she dated. Nate was surprised to say the least to see Sheri on his doorstep, much less asking him for help.
Nate knew that it had to be pretty serious for Sheri to come and find him and ask him for help with this situation. When they started to sit down and track down when and where the threats were coming from, they were still coming up with very little to go on. As time went on and Sheri and Nate did what they could with the help of Nate's buddies from the security agency that he worked for, sparks began to ignite between them again. Could Nate forgive her for leaving him, even if she was hiding the truth from him?
This is a great story that I could not put down once I started. I wanted to know so bad who the stalker was and how things were going to end for Nate and Sheri. I am not going to give anything away because you have to read this one for yourself. Such a great read that will leave you longing for more for sure! I can't wait to see what is next from Kathy Ivan! Hopefully more in the New Orleans Connection Series!!

Wicked Obsession is a thrill ride.

Wow...what a rollercoaster ride or emotions and suspense. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end because the villain of the piece is not easy to spot. If you love second chance romances filled with emotional suspense this book is for you. Nate and Sheri were engaged to be married when she called the wedding off with no explanation. Nate was devastated but finally moved on with his life vowing to never let another woman get to him like that. What he doesn't know is Sheri was being threatened by an unknown person and when that same person threatened to kill Nate she walked away.
A few years later Sheri is being stalked again and she doesn't think she can take it again. After the emotional backlash of giving up Nate almost destroys her she runs to him to protect her.
As you can imagine sparks fly and the story will keep you guessing. This is one of Kathy Ivan's best in the series. Her books are standalones but share the same group of security consultants. Her women are likeable and independent and her men are pure alphas through and through. You will read this in one sitting

This latest offering by Kathy Ivan is part of her New Orleans Connection series and while I haven't read the rest of the books, I thought it read just as well as a stand alone because the author did a good job of recapping some of the previous characters and storylines. Nate Blackwell and Sheri Vernon are opposites in every way. He's a brooding Alpha male who's bossy and opinionated and I didn't like him at first, but as the danger to Sheri escalates he becomes protective and his softer side makes him a much better man. Sheri is a wealthy and pampered socialite which would lead you to believe that she's shallow, but she's smart, ambitious and feisty and could care less about the trappings of her wealth. While this storyline is fast paced and interesting enough, I feel that it's somewhat predictable, and the terror and imminent danger that is missing would have made this a much more interesting read. Overall, I would give this book 3 & 3/4 stars. I received a free copy of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review.

This was packed with danger, mystery and lost loves reunited. Great story!
Sheri and Nate were supposed to be married. But the obsession of a mad man made her make the hardest choice she's ever had to make. Leave Nate. To keep him safe she had to give him up. But now after a few years the stalking has started again. And she has nowhere to turn but the man she has never stopped loving.
Nate was torn apart when Sheri left. And vows to never let another woman have control over his heart. But when Sheri comes seeking him out for help and protection he has no other answer but yes. He has never stopped loving her and will do all that is in his power to keep her safe. When suspicions arise that it could be someone extremely close to her, things escalate and the raging madman comes calling. Will Nate and Sheri be able to take him down or will they lose their love and possibly their lives to this wicked obsession??

It was nice to see how they all banded together to help Sheri even though they didn't know her, simply because they knew she was important to Nate.
Even though it's part of a series, this book works as a standalone. It won't feel like you're missing anything if you haven't read the previous books.
I would recommend it for readers who enjoy romantic suspense.

Non-stop action blends with romantic suspense to keep you turning the pages for a complex mystery adventure. Sheri Veron is running for her life from a stalker in her Dallas hometown right into the arms of her ex-fiance. Nate Blackwell is now part of a high end security company in New Orleans and has the resources to find the wack job that was the real reason behind Sheri ending their engagement three years earlier. The story grabs your attention immediately and you won't put the book down until you finish it. The characters are realistic and the security company makes a great background theme. An entertaining, on the edge of your seat adventure that is not to be missed.

Sheri was the one that broke Nate's heart years ago, so when she called and said he needed her help it was hard to say no. He wanted to do it on his own turf to show her how far he had come since the last saw each other. Sheri was scared that someone was trying to kill her. She had a stalker and he was escalating the scary level in his contact wit her.
Nate had never gotten over the pain from Sheri leaving and vowed he would not let anyone heard him again. But when she was saying she was being stalked and thought she could get hurt, his attention was on finding who was after her and why.
Will they be able to put the past behind them and work on this case? Or will the pain be more then they want to deal with.

Nate is shocked when his ex, Sheri, turns up asking for his help. Feelings he thought long gone start to surface again. He realizes he will do anything and everything he can to protect Sheri. Sheri doesn't know who to trust, except Nate. She turns to him for help. Sparks fly once again, but can Nate ever forgive her? This book kept me hooked throughout, and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this one! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great story in this series. Nate and Sheri have a history. Sheri broke Mates heart and he never knew why. Until she shows up on his doorstep. Great storyline with suspense and action. Well written complex characters. I loved this story and can't wait for more.
