I've been on a Tess Oliver kick this week and can you blame me? I mean, these covers are just pulling me in! And I'm so happy that this phase hit me because I've missed reading this author. I actually can't believe I went so long without one of her books.

I really enjoyed this one and the unique spin that was put on the usual romance books. Rafe was a great Hero and I really liked how his sweet side wasn't hidden, instead it was more prominent than his badass side. I just loved getting to know him and him with Eliot was just swoon worthy. I liked Eliot a lot too, especially how she had no problem helping out her family and we never saw her complain from working so hard. She genuinely liked to help people and it made her character easy to like.

Overall, this was a sweet and fast story to read that I highly recommend. The Hero is hot and has many adorable moments, and the heroine was easy to connect to and enjoyable to learn about.

First off, I must confess that Oliver has some of the best cover models and for this book, she's outdone herself. Le sigh.

I digress. So, I didn't love this story. Why?

It's got a really nice premise and a nice cast of characters. Moreover, individually, Eliot and Rafe, our protagonists, were extremely likable.

I'll tell you what didn't work for me.

1. The book was less than 300 pages with double or triple spacing; so, if it had been single spaced, we would have less than 200 pages. Even for Oliver, who is a gifted writer, that was too short to have a proper story arc. I like to know my book characters. I want to hear their inner musings and feel their emotions. And that wasn't possible. Plus we had all these other characters who did nothing but subtract from the time our protags ought to have spent with each other.

2. There was so much dialogue. Perfectly written dialogue, but blimey, it was too much. These 2 just talked and talked. As did each and every support cast. Again, this detracted from the plot and deprived us of getting inside the heads of the MCs. A longer book could have accommodated the constant dialogue but not one that was this short.

3. Oliver might have just written one of the strongest book heroines ever. Eliot was studying Biology in college, worked 2 jobs to support her mom and sister and was selfless and kind to boot. Yet, the overarching impression the author gave the readers was that Eliot was sorely lacking in self-confidence as well as being a push over. That didn't quite work for me.

4. Lastly, I wanted, no, needed more time with Rafe and Eliot besides the 6 weeks spent on the set of the Bachelor. I needed to see them grow closer and to feel their love blossom but alas, all we get is a couple more chapters and even more dialogue with other people.

Overall, this wasn't for me but please don't let my opinion deter you from checking this out.

Loved the story. Rafe and Eliot were just perfect together. First they became friends then lovers and finally soul mates.

This was my first Tess Oliver read.
The blurb was anything but original but decided to take the plunge due to good reviews and I can't sleep late Saturday night.
This book made me realise why I never watch those dating games on tv, and why I should have just trusted my instict and pass on this book.
Well, it started ok. Eliot was endearing. I can't help but feel sorry for her.
Rafe though, I don't know. Eventhough he's like an adonis, I didn't feel it!
1. That book cover is anything but hot to me, if anything he looked like a grunge/meth addict/drunken rock star bordering on loser, imo.
2. He was portrayed as a big player with loose sexual morals right from the beginning. Like, come on! He was banging some lady in the hotel that is bethrothed to someone else. Then once inside the compound, full of 20 women throwing themselves at him, all of a sudden, he can't be with any of them because he didn't want to "hurt" them?!!
3. The sex scenes. Oh dear, that was a disappointment, imo. He was anything but hot in the sheets. I guess it's because the story build him up to be a (sex) god but I did not feel that in the story. Or maybe it's because the word "pu$$y" got thrown in there multiple times, it made me cringe!
4. Him being an ex-army ranger slash millionaire is just too over the top. Totally unnecessary and unbelievable.

Overall it wasn't too bad. But definitely not 5 stars. More like 2.5-3.

3.5 stars!!

I enjoyed this book enough and have read a few Tess Oliver to know I do enjoy her writting.
This for me was just a meh book ... in my language means it's was good and I enjoyed it but I won't remember it.

Basically its this self made super hot rich guy who loses a bet to his friend and ends up on a bachelor show dealing with a hord of crazy females who all want to Be the one who gets the proposal at the shows finally. He's obviously your typical non committed hit is then miss it guy who has no interest in marriage but is going along with it because of the shows contract. That is until he meet Elliot.
Bring in his newly promoted assistant Elliot who's basically the hero of the show with two jobs but still dirt poor because she's helping her sister go to collage who also happens to have medical problems and a mother who's constantly self diagnosing herself. But even with all the stress is still a student hoping to make a bright future for herself.

They're romance was sweet even though she was up against a hord of beautiful women Rafe didn't really give anyone else a chance. He was all for her. The build up to them finally getting it on was intense and a little frustrating because you know it's going to happen but it took for ever.(even though it's a relatively short story.) there wasn't much in the way of side characters other than Jackson who's Elliot's bff and work colleague (also he used to be the assistant/butler which is her now job). I missed having the nice connections of the side characters. I also found that in some parts the story just dragged. There wasn't nearly enough time with just them as a couple or even just being together, not surrounded by the "set" or any of that crap.

So all round I enjoyed it enough, it was a cute low drama/angsty book with a happy ending wrapped up in a little bow. But it wasn't enough for me to be wowed by nor remember by next week. That won't deter me from ready this author again though because some of her books I love I guess this was just in the middle for me this time.

I'll start by saying I'm not a fan of The Bachelor reality tv show. I personally find nothing interesting about a guy (or girl) and a whole heap of girls (or guys) playing up to the cameras to try and convince us that the two at the end are really in love. I also know I'm in the minority (especially when it comes to my family and friends) but whatever... :) So I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did.

Rafe (the bachelor) is a self-made multi-millionaire who has trouble connecting with women past anything more than a casual hookup. He signs up to the bachelor after losing a bet with a mate, but pretty soon comes to regret it after meeting Eliot (seriously? a girl named Eliot???) who is assigned to be his assistant.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. Rafe and Eliot were sweet together, and I liked how their relationship developed. It was a little weird that he was also having to get to know 20 odd other women, but for me, it wasn't that big a deal.

However, I couldn't give it 5 stars because the story was awesome, up until the end. Just when I think the book is going to start delving into Rafe and Eliot's relationship and seeing their interaction after the 6 weeks they were together taping the show, it all just stopped. It was like as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, we get a ridiculously fast wrap up and then it's the end. I was more interested in seeing how they fit into each other's lives after the show, and how their families reacted to them. I wanted more on Eliot's family, especially her sister, but other than a vague mention of a guest house being decorated for her, there was nothing. It was a bit of a downer after such an engaging story.

So it's an almost 4 star rating for me - more like 3.75 stars. I would have liked more, but I did enjoy the story for what it was.

Eliot is our heroine in this book, I had a real soft spot for her. She does so much for everybody around her and works herself to exhaustion juggling two jobs and college classes to help her family out with finances. She's a very unassuming heroine, not at all conceited and just generally a sweet girl.
Rafe is our tall, dark and handsome hero. They meet when Rafe signs up to to be the eligible bachelor on the show Eliot works for. Her job is that of the bachelor's assistant, the show is kind of like the American show The Bachelor, similar format to that where the bachelor is filmed over a period of several weeks getting to know a group of women and whittling them down to a final one with the intention of there being a proposal by the end of the season.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and got through it in less than a day. I found it to be a sweet, easy read in keeping with Tess's usual writing style with likeable characters, a sweet and humble heroine and a sexy, bada$$ hero with a soft side. I find I always connect well with Tess's writing and stories and this one was no different. This book is a standalone so if you're looking for a sweet story to get stuck into in between series then this is the book for you.

Rafe sure knew the right things to say, “nope. That’s what they call cocky effing confidence along with an incredibly hot, naked woman lying next to me.” I really liked Race he seemed like a genuine guy.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to admit I am not a fan of the TV reality show, The Bachelor, so I was skeptical about this one. That being said, I am a huge fan of Tess Oliver, so I was intrigued to see where she went with this. This is another hit by Ms. Oliver. I loved this brilliantly told story. The cover model that Ms. Oliver choses are always something I look forward to…always drool worthy. This story is about Rafe and Eliot. Rafe is a war hero, a self-made millionaire, not to mention a sexy as hell man who loses a bet with his friend, so he has to be picked as the new bachelor on Sealed with a Kiss, and if he is not chosen then he has to cut his hair, which would truly be a crime in my opinion. Eliot is a low self-esteem, guilt-ridden girl who goes to college and works two jobs to support her mom and sister after her father dies. People describe her as everyone’s “chum”, and she tries to just go about her day not being noticed by others. She works as a crew member for the show Sealed with a Kiss. There are some position changes as the crew returns to the set for the new season, and Eliot is now the assistant butler to the new bachelor because she is what the bosses call, the “safe” choice. Rafe finds he is over his head, and really does not want any part of the show, and asks Eliot to help his with choosing which bachelorette stays and who should go. Their feelings for each other grow as they spend more time together, and soon Rafe finds the only one he wants to choose is Eliot. Now, add in the pesky fact that there is the contract that he signed, which states he has to choose and get engaged to one of the 20 contestants, and remain engaged for six months.

This was such a heartbreakingly, beautiful love story that was told in a way that only Tess Oliver could tell it. I think our reality TV show producers of the Bachelor and the Bachelorette could use some tips from Ms. Oliver, then maybe I would watch it. This book will have you feeling everything from happy to sad, laughing, anxious, and so damn hot and bothered. The love that these two characters have for each other is so beautiful. The chemistry is off the charts, which leads to the most delicious sex scenes that once again only Tess Oliver could deliver…if I only had a pool or a lounge chair (sigh). I could not put this book down. I was sucked in from the very beginning. This is a must-read book. If you are like me and do not like the TV show, please do not dismiss this book and miss out on reading this. You will not be disappointed. I love every single one of Tess Oliver books, and My Bachelor is one of my favorites. I cannot wait to see what Tess Oliver has in store for us next.

From the first page of this book I was captured, what a lovely romance story Eliot and Rafe have. Rafe entered a contest on a bet, Eliot works for the studio where Rafe will be competing. Rafe is a ex army ranger with tattoos a well built body and tall, Eliot has been invisible for a long time working hard for her family. Rafe was captivated with Eliot from the moment they meet, then he finds her being made his assistant on the show, this is where they both realise they have many things in common and feel like they have know each other long. When things go wrong for them and Eliot is no longer his assistant will they get there happily ever after. This is an amazing book 10/10

Awesome!!! Awesome!!! Fantastic!!! Holy Moly, I am in Love!!!!! I am finally out of my reading slump. I have been struggling for over a week to find a book that I wanted to read to the end. My Bachelor is it. I wanted to ignore my responsibilities and just keep reading. I wanted to crawl into the book and never leave. I needed a t-shirt saying—Don’t bother me, I’m reading.
Rafe has a lot going for him—ex-ranger, self made millionaire, down to earth. Oh, and GORGEOUS!!!!!! But what blew me away was his insight into love, soul mates, destiny. This was the one guy that should never been the bachelor that has to choose a bride from a group of contestants.
Eliot is put into to the position of butler/assistant. She is to help Rafe during his six weeks on location. She was given the job because she was “safe”. All she did was work at the studio, work at a bar, hide in her clothing, study, and help take care of her mom and sister. Her life was complicated. She was alone by choice. Her walls were impenetrable.
Rafe wants real. Rafe wants his other half (get ready to swoon when he denies soul mate). Phony won’t work. The contestants are so far from real it is nauseating. The games. The Flirting. Rafe has to rely on Eliot for insight.
Rafe becomes the bachelor Doug, the producer, never expected. He can’t be manipulated. He doesn’t play games. He is as real as the woman that he wants. The question is will he be able to have her. Will she risk all to be with him?
Get ready to sigh. Get ready to fantasize. Get ready to drool a lot. Rafe will be the star of many dreams in the future.

4 out of 5 stars (for the book), 5 out of 5 (for the cover)

I can be deep sometimes, a thinker and a ponderer. And I can be shallow, attracted by the superficial. And in the case of My Bachelor, I will confess to 100% shallow to the max in getting this book when I spied the cover. I mean check it out! Is he not just one of the finest specimens of cover models or what? I hit that buy button without checking out what the story was about, who the author is, reviews, basically none of the research I usually do before buying a book. I want to print off the cover, enlarge it and hang it on my wall, I am that shallow.

And now that I’ve outed myself on the shallow reader I can be, on to the review. Once I bought the book, I checked out the author and storyline and had to grin. I’ve read a few Tess Oliver books in the past and liked them, so all’s good on that front. And as for the storyline, I have a funny relationship with The Bachelor, the television show. I’m appalled by the whole concept, a bunch of women (or men) vying with each other, often drunkenly for the same guy (gal) and who cry like their world has ended when they get sent home. Meanwhile they barely know the person. The fact that I actually watch it shouldn’t be held against me. It’s what’s called a guilty pleasure. I don’t plan on watching, I just seem to find myself sitting and watching it so I can complain about it with a coworker friend who has the same kind of hate/can’t give it up relationship. So when I saw this was the theme – well I was all in *grin*

Our hero, Rafe Rockclyffe, and yes there are some funny bits about his name, is the next Bachelor. Although the fictional TV show has a different name, it is so The Bachelor. He lost a bet with his buddy and the loser has to appear on the show. Rafe isn’t the normal type of guy to be on the show. He’s real and totally unaffected. He’s only rich almost by fluke so his wealth hasn’t gone to his head. He’s also been quite a hit with the ladies if you get my meaning. But still he’s thrown for a loop over the whole television show. His only link to normal is his assistant Eliot, yes strange name for a heroine and yes, there is a bit about her name too. Although he doesn’t feel any ‘connection’ with any of the bachelorettes, he does feel one with Eliot and Eliot feels one for Rafe. But that’s a complication that isn’t good, he’s signed a contract to get engaged to one of the women for at least six months. So what are they going to do?
Well, that’s what the book is about.

I liked this book. It was on the light and fluffy side and didn’t dwell too deeply into their issues. I got a kick out of Rafe I must say. In another bet he made with a friend, if he won his friend had to give up his sports car, if his buddy won, Rafe had to give up his hair. This scene really had me chuckling. I liked that he was a regular kind of guy. At one point he ‘escapes’ and heads out to see Eliot at her other job. Eliot has deeper issues than Rafe. She has two jobs as well as going to school. Her mother is a flake so Eliot is responsible for the care of her younger sister, a rising soccer star who lost the use of her legs in a car accident. So Eliot has more to lose than Rafe should they be ‘found out’.

This book just hit the right spot for me at the right time. I quite happily recommend it to any and all fans of The Bachelor as well as any shallow readers such as myself who love a good cover model.

My Bachelor

Tess Oliver

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

On the last season of Sealed with a Kiss, Eliot was the social media coordinator. This season, however, she has been moved to the position of bachelor’s assistant. She’ll be getting anything and everything the bachelor needs. Rafe lost a bet and ended up as the bachelor on the hit show Sealed with a Kiss. He’s going to have twenty women fighting over him to get his marriage proposal at the end of the six weeks, something he really doesn't want, especially with any of them.

When Rafe and Eliot begin to fall for each other, he has to make a huge decision on whether to follow his heart or the rules of the air-tight contract he signed. When the end of the six weeks is up, what will he choose?

Standalone new adult romance with a HEA. Mature audiences only.

Oh, man. This book. Hahaha. I loved watching these two fall in love. I do wish that we had longer than a week with the two of them before they’re found out, though. That's really my only complaint. Everything else was wonderful!

I actually stayed up until almost four in the morning finishing it because I just could not put it down! I think this has definitely stolen the top spot of my favorite Tess Oliver books. Sorry, Gage.

This book is definitely worth a read. I totally loved it, and I can't wait to see what Tess has in store for us in the future!

My Bachelor...I was hooked from the first to the last page. Rafe and Elliot are the main characters of this fun loving story. Rafe is a ex Army Ranger who lost a bet to his best friend and now he has to become the next Bachelor on the hit TV show. Rafe is the love'm and leave'm sexy hottie. Eliot was the social media journalist of the hit TV show well this season she will be Rafe's personal Butler. Rafe notices Eliot from the beginning and he just wants to get closer to her. She feels he is the hottest thing since slice bread which he is but he also has twenty other woman trying to woo him. Eliot is just his butler right?? Wrong Rafe wants her to be so much more. Will she take the chance and take what she wants even if it costs her heart and job. She needs her job because she has her mother and sister to look after. Rafe is a millionaire but he isn't your typical millionaire he is raw, sexy and so down to earth. There is a slow build of their relationship and it's oh so good. Absolutely loved this story. Oliver writes male characters that you fall in love with. Female characters that are strong and independent. My Bachelor is another hit for Oliver. Rafe is the perfect "book boyfriend " This is a MUST READ...and you will not be disappointed.

My Bachelor is about Eliot, the woman in charge of a TV show's social media, and Rafe, the new bachelor for said show, Sealed With A Kiss. Eliot feels invisible, overworked, and just plain miserable. When she gets to the set of SWAK on the first day, she finds out she has been "promoted" to the bachelor's assistant. Rafe is an ex-army ranger, who ended up on the show over a silly bet.

From the moment they meet, there is absolute chemistry that neither is ready to admit - Eliot for fear of losing her job, her heart, and her mind; Rafe because he doesn't want to hurt any of the contestants feelings, for fear of being sued by the studio, and he doesn't know if Eliot feels the same for him.

I do not give spoilers, so that is as much of the story as I will tell. This was one of Tess's tamer stories (as far as the heat factor), but don't get me wrong: it was such a sweet, funny romance, and still had a good amount of hot in it to keep me reading. Once I really started reading (life really gets in the way sometimes), I could not stop - I just HAD to know what would happen! Hence why I'm up at 4:30 on a workday night/morning writing this review.

Get your copy and find out what happens with Eliot, Rafe, and those contestants!

Oh gosh Tess Oliver you have done it again!

This book is an interesting take on the TV show The Bachelor only in this case The Bachelor is a long haired ex-army Ranger , Medical Data program developer, who enters the show because he lost a bet with one of his friends. There is absolutely nothing in the world that Rafe wants to do less then spend six weeks with the potential wife candidates and and choose one to marry. On his way to join the cast he does have a brief encounter while driving his very large motorcycle , with a young lady driving a jalopy. It turns out that she is a full-time student, part-time Time TV show staff member, part-time waitress at a bar. She's the type of person who is everybody's best friend, chum. There's no time for fancy clothes or makeup she's got work and school to keep her more than busy. Staffing changes on the set and suddenly she is the butler or assistant to the bachelor. There are two main characters and a couple of sub characters. All are extremely likable and you find yourself rooting for El (Eliot) despite what appear to be insurmountable odds. The story is entirely enjoyable, quite romantic.

I really enjoyed the book. Rafe is an Ex Ranger that loses a bet, losing the bet has him looking for love on the TV reality show Looking For Love. He has no idea what he has gotten himself into. Eliot is a college student working multiple jobs, to keep afloat, as she has a lot of responsibility on her plate. One of her jobs that she counts on is working the reality show Rafe is now going to star on. The show has decided to move her position to be the bachelor’s assistant as they feel she is the “safe” choice. Rafe counts on Eliot to help him figure out how to handle the woman and the show, he is lost and realizing what a mistake it is to be on the show. What happens when Eliot becomes who Rafe seeks out? Eliot cannot risk losing her job, and keeps trying to keep things professional. Eliot is such a fun strong female character, and Rafe has never felt what he is feeling before and just can’t let it go. What will happen in the end? Guess you’ll just have to read to find out….

4.5 "Jack the Curl" Stars!!!!

Let me start off saying I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this book. But I'm happy to say I'm glad I did!! Eliot was a great heroine. She was smart, funny, quirky and beautiful. I loved it when she talked about that unruly curl that she named Jack. Now Rafe, my diamond in the rough hero. With his rugged good looks and his long gorgeous hair and tattooed body.
He just had me swooning all over the place lol. He was so smooth and sweet. I loved watching his and Eliot's relationship go from friends to lovers and the ending had me swooning all over the place. My Bachelor was a great surprise read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Don't let the subject matter of this book defer you from reading this book. I know he's supposedly dating 20 women but the author wrote this story so it's mostly concentrated on Rafe and Eliot's relationship and that's why I believe it was so good. Don't miss out on this hidden gem. The Bachelor gets two thumbs up from me!!!!

I do not like to read much about billionaires or famous actors or band players, but the star of this show stole my heart. Rafe is the new Bachelor, who has to find love among 20 beautiful and polished bachelorettes. He has the gorgeous bad boy look and a big heart which has half of America in love with him. Eliot is the invisible girl who has been appointed as his Assistant in the show, bland and bad dressed but smart and with a shielded heart. She becomes Rafe's friend and so much more. The characters in this book are great. Jackson is a darling, Doug is a ruthless businessman, Eliot's mother ugh.... Plus the bachelorettes. I really like the depth that Tess Oliver gives Rafe and with enough background to just love him dearly and an also love the strong woman that Eliot is with all her flaws. Great book!!!

Eliots life is crazy, running around between school, waitressing, and being the social media coordinator for sealed with a kiss, she's running low on self-esteem and happiness. Rafe is the new bachelor for the latest season of sealed with a kiss, but it was all supposed to be a stupid bet with a friend, he's not even looking for love. When Eliot is thrown into the new position of assistant to Rafe while he's on the show, everything changes, and when fate decides it's ment to be then you better look out! Loved it, I was worried that the whole bachelor thing would over shadow it for me but as always Tess seems to put a spin on it and make it perfect! Five stars!

Now this was a fun little book! This was cleverly put together with a TV Reality background that made it a very cute read! I did see some of it coming, well because you know, the girl trying to be invisible always walks away with the prince and happily ever after :), but on that note those are my favorite kinds of books HEA's! Once again Tess paints us a beautiful scenery for her story and well of course a Hot and handsome male lead, yep once again the main character Rafe will make you fall in love with him, you know in a book boyfriend kind of way. Definitely a great book if you just need to escape for a few.

So the beginning was fine. And if your a huge fan of the bachelor you'll probably love this book.

I just hated the idea of him fully getting girls to strip down to their basics, and kissing them all while deciding he was in love with someone else.

Also there is no real resolution to the legal reasons keeping them apart. If he was going to ignore them, why wait till he was breaking other people's hearts to do so?

I didn't like this, not at all.

Received an ARC from the author.....Tess Oliver never disappoints me! I love her books! Make sure you add it to your list of "Must Reads", you won't be sorry.

I really loved this book because the storyline was more different than any romance I have read. Very original. Rafe is so swoonworthy and Eliot is you classic girl next door.
