“Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.” If one more person says that, Ava Jordan is going to scream. And now she has to be in her brother’s wedding before she can hang up that ugly taffeta permanently.
Even worse, the man she’s been avoiding is the only other guest in this destination wedding to Antigua. Sure, she’s had a crush on Grant for as long as she can remember, but he’s out of her life. Their steamy fling that turned way awkward made sure of that.
Now she’s going to be stuck on a small island with him—so maybe she could have one more steamy fling before it's over for good? But Grant wants forever. And he’s going to do everything he can to convince her of that.
USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times bestselling author Margo Bond Collins is a former college English professor who, tired of explaining the difference between "hanged" and "hung," turned to writing romance novels instead. She now writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and science fiction romance. Sometimes her heroines kiss aliens, sometimes they kill monsters. But they always aim for the heart.
Beach Blanket Bridesmaid is book three in the Necessity, Texas series by Margo Bond Collins. This is a very short, fluffy little story about two people who have long been attracted to one another.
Ava Jordan is one of only two guests attending her brother Seth and his fiancé Kristin’s destination wedding in Antigua. The other guest is her brother’s best friend and best man, Grant Porter. Ava has had a crush on Grant for as long as she can remember. They grew up together. A year and a half ago at a New Years Eve Party with the help of a few drinks, she and Grant spent a wild, sexy night together. But the next morning, he was just gone. In the time since then, Ava has done everything in her power to avoid Grant. But that’s not going to be possible while they are both on the island. So she’ll have to just pull up her big girl panties and power through. She can do it.
Grant was sixteen and Ava was thirteen when he first noticed that his feelings toward her were changing. That he was no longer thinking of her as a buddy. But she was his best friend’s little sister, still is. That alone makes her off limits. So why did he let his guard down at that New Year’s Party? And now he can’t get her out of his mind after the night they spent together. But Grant is a petroleum engineer. His job is mostly on the road. Ava loves living in Necessity. She deserves so much more than he can offer her.
“She was Seth’s baby sister, and she deserved better than anything he could ever offer her. She deserved a real life, full of laughing children and a real home in Necessity.”
As the wedding nears and Grant and Ava spend time together it is clear the attraction is still there if not stronger. So Ava contemplates the possibility of one more fling while they are on the island. But Grant knows his feelings run deep. Maybe it’s time to finally lay all his cards on the table and tell Ava how he feels.
This was a very short, sweet little story. It was pretty fluffy but I enjoyed getting to know Grant and Ava. I loved that they were both moving towards each other, even though each had different motives. Will it just be one more night? Or will Grant and Ava finally get their HEA?
I'm not normally a fan of novellas because they always seemed to rushed to me. I very much enjoyed this one though! I would definitely recommend it to others!
Short and Sweet! Beach Blanket Bridesmaid was really cute, and I love second chance at love stories! Ava is the bridesmaid in her brother's destination wedding in Antigua, and it's going to be a small wedding, so it is just Ava, her brother, her brother's fiancée, and her brother's best man, Grant. Ava and Grant have a past, and both are feeling nervous about seeing the other, so they both have thoughts of avoiding the other, but when wedding activities push them together, they are finding it hard to maintain their distance from each other, and old feelings begin to resurface. Ava and Grant are cute as they try to deny the attraction they feel for each other, and they definitely have some hot moments! I really enjoy books with weddings, and the book being set in a beach town led to some interesting, steamy times. Since this is quite a short read, we don't get too in depth with the characters, but I appreciate what we did learn about the characters, and the whole story was very enjoyable. I definitely would love more for the ending, but the story ends in a nice place. I love that we get POVs from Grant and Ava, so we get a look into how both of them are feeling, and both are likable characters. Loved this sweet romance!
Well written, short and sweet story. Great locations and descriptions, and I have put this on my to be re-read pile. Does have a happily ever after ending and some heat.
Another great read by Margo Bond Collins. Ava has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Grant, for as long as she can remember. She hasn't seen Grant since their fling a year ago that ended badly. Now Grant, her brother, his fiancee and she are all in Antigua for her brother's destination wedding. Avoiding Grant on a small Island shouldn't be too hard should it, or should she go for one more fling with him before never seeing again. Grant has lots of things in mind for Ava and her hiding from him on this trip or her ever getting away from him again aren't in his plans.

This is a fun trip to Antigua. Always a bridesmaid never a bride does not apply in this situation. Beach Blanket Bridesmaid is a heartwarming story about two friends finding their way back to each other after a misunderstanding. And, there is nothing like a wedding to stir up emotions.
A cute, short read that will melt your heart over and over again as you progress through the pages of Ava and Grants story. Ava's big brother Seth is getting married, and because of some ugly circumstances at home, him and his fiancee have decided to elope in Antigua with only Ava and Seths' best friend Grant, as their witnesses. Only one problem...Ava has been crushing on Grant since early teens, and after he left her high and dry almost two years ago from what appeared to be a one night stand, they've been avoiding each other...completely. But, how could she possibly say no to her only brother? Grant knows in his heart that Ava deserves much better than what he can give her, what with his job that has him more or less living out of suitcase. Ava deserves the cute little house with the white picket fence and a bunch of beautiful children running at her feet. But as their time on the island flashes by, the more Grant comes to realize...he wants to be the one she's with. He loves her, and not in that brotherly way either. Will they be able to crawl over past hurts and find a mutual love? Or will they forever be doomed to avoiding each other, the only one they both will ever love? Beach Blanket Bridesmaid by Margo Bond Collins 4 Stars
An island of paradise, perfect for a wedding. Only Ava, the sister of the groom must come once again face to face to the man who left her 18 months earlier. Grant left her after their one night stand and has been regretting it ever since.
A trip to a secluded cove on a island and more than sparks return to both of them.
Good YA Read. Short and Sweet

A quick and easy story about second chance love. When her brother and his bride to be decide to wed on a beach, Ava must be tortured by sharing the time with her brother's best man whom she had a fling with. He left her high and dry the next day and now she must spend time with him much to her dismay.
This novella is about Ava who wants a wild island fling with her brothers best friend. This is sweet, sexy, romantic with realistic characters that have real emotions and flaws. I really enjoyed reading this novella. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

This was a quick read, but a really good one. You can almost feel the emotions that the characters are experiencing. The emotional struggle between them is spot on as to what you would find in a real relationship too. A must read!
This was an enjoyable story about Grant and Ava. These two have such a long history and they were friends until a fateful New Year's Eve. Now what will happen when these two get together again at her brother's wedding. This story flowed nicely and kept my interest!
This is a steamy little read, I had no idea it was book 3, so I suppose it can be read as a standalone. Ha! I was looking for a quick read, this was a great one for that. Ava and Grant are trying to avoid each other when they are the 2 other people on the destination wedding. Groomsman and Bridesmaid. I liked that there was a bit of back story, since this is book 3 novella, there was a possibility that there wouldn't be. Thank you Margo for that. Watching these two skirt around what they feel and talking to them selves they way they do, it might have been a little steamer if they had talked out loud instead of internally, but this totally worked. Now I have to seek out book one and two.
A nice and quick read. "Beach Blanket Bridesmaid" is a romance novella about Grant, Ava's brother best friend and Ava herself. Knowing each other from their teenage years and having spent a "drunken night" together half a year ago, they swore to never talk again until they found themselves stuck together in the paradisiacal island Antigua for Ava's brother wedding. They eventually realized that they attraction is still in the air, but above all love too.
