Rate this book
Finley Gallagher has a business to run, a sexy-as-sin neighbor to avoid and no time for everyone’s fascination with the city’s mysterious vigilante who’s putting criminals in their place—until she’s attacked. With no one else to turn to, she’s forced to rely on the two men she’d rather not have anything to do with. One hides who he is, unleashing her deepest fantasies from the shadows, while the other slowly disarms her with one devastating smile after another.

Trace Fairbanks is determined to do whatever it takes to keep the streets safe, even if it means leading a double life. He’s wanted Finley for months, and now that he knows she’s more into his alter ego than he ever realized, he’s willing to blur the line between fantasy and reality to prove he’s the only hero she’ll ever need. But getting the girl might not be as hard as keeping her alive if he can’t trust her with the truth before it’s too late.

A born and raised Maritimer, Sydney Somers fell in love with writing when she finished her first story, Jenny and the Glowing Green Mittens. After attempting her first book in high school, she set writing aside to focus on school. While getting her degrees in psychology and education, Sydney tried her hand at journalism between part time jobs before finally returning to her love of writing.

Twenty-five novels and novellas later, Sydney is thrilled to spend her days slaying demons, running with shape-shifter packs and making the people in her head fall wildly in love. When she’s not writing or curled up with a good book, Sydney can be found chasing after her herd of kids, talking her way into a gourmet meal, exterminating rogue dust bunnies or joking about the pending zombie apocalypse. She loves hearing from readers and invites them to contact her anytime.

The only complaint I have is I wish it were longer. Great story line! I love the superhero angle and who better than Trace to fill that role. It would have been great to have more background information on him and his family but this is a good quick read. I think we all want to be Finley! When you read this book you'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Sizzling!

Thank you Sydney Somers! I look forward to reading more from this very talented author.

The opinion expressed is my own.

I just love Sydney Somers writing. It's so wonderful. It keeps me engaged and devouring the book. I mean, have you read her Pendragon Gargoyles series?? I blew through them very quickly, they are that good!

Okay. Now that I've gone on a little rant, let's carry on to the review. :)

I can say I have never read a book with the trope of the hero being a vigilante or super hero with a super power like in comic books. For this alone, I knew the book was going to be good. Finley was great to read, but she was out-shown by Trace. I mean, who can beat out a FREAKING SUPER HOT VIGILANTE?? Some scenes were lighting up my kindle with the sparks flying between the characters. I enjoyed the depth we were able to see in the two. It added a wonderful nugget to the story.

My only complaint is that I wish it was slightly longer. Of course, I can also see if I beg her enough she'll cave and write another book, turning this into a series! *wink, wink* *nudge, nudge*

This was a quick easy read filled sexy hot scenes, real and fantasy along with a sweetheart of a man and a very likeable woman. I could visualize this entire story perfectly while reading. I love when this happens because it makes me enjoy the story more. Finley and Trace had a push/pull relationship that. Neither were ready for a relationship, but when they did come together, it was fun, hot, sexy, loving. I loved the way he took care of her and then she ended up doing the same for him. Kinda makes you want to go out to find your own hero.

What do you do when you're a vigilante with a secret identity and a hot neighbour who doesn't like either of your personas. Trace is about to find out when his neighbour Findlay is attacked walking home from her store one night and the Night Watcher steps in to save the day.
What follows is a sweet story with some very steamy love scenes, both real and it becomes clear that the attack on Findlay was no chance encounter and the pair gradually move from neighbours and friends to something else.
Waitin' on a Hero is a quick, fun read .

Wow! So much fun! Waitin' on a Hero by Sydney Somers was a wonderful, humorous and fast read. I loved her characters. Trace and Finley just stole their way right into my heart. How lucky is one girl. She got two for one when she got Trace. The sexy neighbor and the dark, dangerous mystery man. Trace gets a sexy, sweet woman. Together they made me laugh and smile while reading their crazy adventures. The story moves fast. Sydney Somers did an excellent job with this story.

I can only think of two books I've ever read where upon completion I immediately wanted to flip back to the beginning and experience the tantalizing flow of emotions all over again. Waitin' on a Hero is now the third.
