HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A SCORNED WOMAN… WITH A BLOWTORCH

Brought up by her strict, religious father, the child was no stranger to the hidden basement beneath the kitchen. The basement where she had been beaten and left chained in the frigid darkness to repent her sins on numerous occasions.

Now, with her father dead, Victoria is an attractive young woman. Psychologically damaged, she struggles to make her way in the world. All she wants out of life is a husband to give her a baby – a child who will love her unconditionally and to whom she can be the mother she never knew. But her deep emotional scars prevent her from having the family life she so desires. When she discovers that her husband is cheating on her, her fragile sanity finally snaps and the cobwebbed walls of the secret basement will echo with screams like it has never known before.

Inspired by WH Auden’s poem, ‘Victor’ – Daddy’s Girl contains scenes that some readers may find disturbing.

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned!"

This is my 4th book by Mr. Anton Palmer. This book was Impressive! Had everything I been looking for; Gore, Horror and Revenge! And I wasn't disappointed!! The blurb made it sound like the main character got abuse This book remind me of the movie, "Carrie!" But instead of a crazy mother it was a crazy father. The father - was something else with his twisted religious manipulative ways... Basically brainwashing his daughter into religious observance through religion's rituals... And one scene had me like; (Omg! *Ewww*)

Victoria, I truly felt for her. She's a very good person. But very naive, sexually inexperienced, sheltered and socially awkward.. Always picked on by her co-workers (for being different) All she ever wanted is a husband and a child to love and be love back in return... She ends up meeting the handsome, Marcus.. Fell hard for him.. And then married... But after 6 months of marriage (she ends up finding out, her dear husband is laying with another) And let me tell you; " ALL. HELL. BREAKS. LOOSE !" I was grinning the whole time, like the Cheshire Cat from 63% till ending! The way the author wrote out the torture scenes was so well-written and detail (it was like watching a movie)

The way the story ended - Awesome. Well done, Mr. Anton Palmer! Victoria, finally got what she always wanted! wink!

Contains: Cheating, Graphic Violence. Religious Talk, Self-Flagellation, Sweet Revenge And Torture

Talk about snap. Poor Victoria...and I say this even knowing what horrible things she did (and believe me, the torture in this book would make you cringe). Still, her life totally sucked. Raised by a father as crazy as hers happened to be, she didn't have much of a chance at being right in the head. She married Marcus with only one hope--a baby. Too bad you have to have sex to make that happen. When a series of events unfolds, each one harder and harder for Victoria to accept, she just snaps...and boy do people pay the price. My only complaint is the lack of detail between the first date and the wedding. There is literally nothing, and I would've liked to have seen how Marcus wooed the crazy girl.

This was totally f*ckin' awesome. Someone else mentioned Stephen King's Carrie in their review and I get that. Think Carrie White all grown up, only instead of having telekinetic abilities, she uses her father's (instead of mother's) abuse tactics to torture those who have pushed her over the edge. This was an awesome revenge story. Without spoiling it, just let me say: buy this damn book!

Sick in the head. This story started off crazy with the overly religious father inflicting gruesome horrors on Victoria's mom, and then it just escalated from there. Daddy was a deeply twisted character and he passed down his psychosis to his daughter

This was my first book by Anton Palmer and it was a great one!

This story was written very well that had me hooked all the way through. Sometimes, the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree...

This is a grotesque and fucked up story about a father and daughter and I absolutely loved it!

No Thanks

I read this story with the hope that at some point it would become a book I could find something about it that I could enjoy. That didn't happen. Dull and predictable.

Thou shalt not commit adultery…………… unless you are Marcus and Anna. But then you really shouldn’t do it to the girl brought up by her crazy, twisted father!
Victoria proves to be “Daddy’s girl!”

Okay...no sure where to even begin. Did I like this book?? Yes parts of it. Did I hate it?? Yes parts of it. This is a very gory, disturbing book especially since it's a woman doing these things. Aside from their very sickening torture parts I actually liked the story.

Enjoyed it

The reason I give four stars instead of five is that I think the story can be flushed out a bit. There's a bit of a jump in the story that had me turning back to make sure I didnt skip a chapters.
That ending though. Wont get it out of my head for weeks.

Whew! "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"'

Bloody, Bloody, Bloody!!!

If gore and splatter are your thing than this will work for you, though a little much for me. Glad I didn't finish just before bed as my dreams and sleep would have been extremely restless.

An entertaining afternoon read

Fairly middle of the road as these things go. Victoria, our protagonist, is abused as a child, and repeats the cycle with her husband. Palmer did a pretty good job of highlighting this by making the prologue and epilogue almost identical.

The story itself relies quite a bit on flashbacks, which are used well, in this case. They are relevant and fit well into the narrative. As a book, especially one competing in the extreme horror market, DADDY'S GIRL might seem a bit tame to some readers. However, I think that makes it more palatable for most folks--it would probably make a really good film if handled well.

I have no major gripes. The typos are minimal (an oddly placed quotation mark here and there) and Palmer's writing style is engaging and makes for a quick read.

It was ok, better written than some of the stuff of this genre I've read.
