Aayno(or mirror) the book revolves around a mirror in the latter half. In the initial half, we are introduced with 3 lead characters: 2 male friends and a woman whom both love, forming a love triangle. Now the first pitfall comes here the depiction of relationships, building of their intimacy is bit poor in my opinion, too much care is taken to describe the beauty with a bit of eroticness too, yet what my point is the woman charcater marries one of the guy but loved the other one more, but it was mentioned that she saw her more as a friend, but then at numerous events they flirt, they have intimate pics which the husband himself clicks, which seems bit odd to me, did she just marry the guy to get back at him? coz he didnt purposed her in the first place? No intimacy is shown(at least not written) between the wife and husband. So after the 1st half i proceed with a negative image of the woman(and I criticise the writer here for lack of details).
Then the male character(other than the husband) disappears, and follow up scenes are in a havelli
and revolve around one of princess of old times, her room, her lover, and her mirror(Ayono). There is too much repition of details too, like we got it bro,the princess was beautiful.
Now the wife's restlessness during the investigation is justified, assuming they were very good friends, but then how in the end she just doesn't concern herself even the slightest for her husband, she doesn't care he is hurt, he is bleeding, she could just never understand his pov i feel. And the built-up climax ends with a terribly poor ending. I understand the Author wanted to keep it open, yet some things required closure.
