This is an alternate cover edition of the Kindle version ASIN B00MAX4ZPQ published on August 1, 2014.
Caleb Bardou has a quick answer for anything that comes at him: his fists. Barreling through life, damn the consequences, has always worked for him. With dangerous rogue wolves threatening his Pack, he must be a ruthless hunter. But when a delicate little she-wolf gets in his steamroller way, he has to find a different strategy to win the unexpected battle for her body and her heart.
Each time civilized Rielle Amoux thinks about caveman Caleb, she gets all tingly inside. Yet she refuses to be flustered by a hot-headed, chest-thumping, he-man of a wolf. Except Caleb is sexier than sin, and he arouses her on a primal level—the part of her she's always denied from fear she won't be able to control it. But if she doesn't free her wild side soon, she risks losing her wolf forever....
Between vicious rogues and sweetly seductive Rielle, Caleb has his hands full. Just when he thinks he has everything under control, his trigger temper erupts again. This time, the fallout could be disastrous for his Pack—as well as for any chance he has with the sexy little wolf who might be his destiny.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.
Wow! The story of this book is so amazing. The two main characters have very big differences but it shows that love and desire really can conquer all. Even though Caleb is a rough man he still melted in the presence of her woman, Rielle.
I like the ending because Caleb don't have to overthink his duties at the moment, he can have all the time with Rielle. Grab this book for those who want to enjoy and feel the love all over again.
Hunting Wolf features Caleb and Rielle's story, an all of the battles they have to fight to be together. Caleb is the alphas son, and pack guardian. He's acts like a caveman and believes he can solve all his problems with his paws, claws and fangs. Rielle is pretty much the opposite of most of the she-wolves in her pack. She's the pack historian, and pretty much shuns her wolf side. She lives in town and avoids the wolves of her pack, preferring to interact with humans. Besides the developing relationship between Caleb and Rielle, the rogues are back in full force attacking packmates and sneaking around. Caleb's buttons are being pushed to the max and he may just snap on Lucas for bringing them to his door.
So far this is definitely my favorite Black Mesa Wolves book. I absolutely love the sweet slow going relationship that Caleb and Rielle are building. It's definitely not a wham bam thank you ma'am thing, it's taking more time to develop. I also love how Caleb isn't what he seems, there's more depth to him that you would initially think. I think it's awesome as well that Rielle isn't the stereotypical she-wolf, she's more soft and human-far more relateable. Plus, you get way more interaction with Calebs parents, the alphas of the pack, and you get some of their pack history, which is neat. I'd definitely recommend to PNR and Shifter lovers.

Although book 3 in the Black Mesa Wolves I found it to read pretty smoothly. There were a couple of moments when I'm sure some our hero's hatred for rogues could have used further explanation. However, other than that I found the story line to be fluid and therefore a good stand alone novel.
I can't say I liked the heroine for much of the story. To be completely honest, her insistence on taking everything he says the wrong way and getting confrontational with him was annoying and tiring after a while. After the second time it felt as if it was just added to the story for the sake of not making their relationship seem to perfect and was completely unneeded, in my opinion. Poor Caleb keeps getting referred to as a caveman on multiple occasions as if the author was not just trying to make a point, she was trying to hammer it in. Was he large? Yes. Rough? Yes... on occasion. Completely ignorant of how to speak to women? Most definitely. This just makes him really bad with women. Not a caveman. It also makes Ree a pretty nasty and ugly person on the inside to refer to him as such just because he's not discussing Plato or quoting beautiful prose to her annoyingly pink fru fru outfits.
That being said, Hunting Wolf was an enjoyable read. I loved Caleb. He was adorably stupid in the ways of women, but in my opinion it just made him all that more endearing watching him fumble to say just the right thing. Rielle on the other hand I could do without. Given that it comes as a huge surprise to me that I would definitely be searching out the previous books in the series for future reads. The story was engaging, entertaining and held my attention captive. I would love to see Caleb redeem himself some day and look forward to reading as much in future stories

This is the 3rd installment in the Black Mesa Wolves Saga and I have to say the series just keeps getting better and better.
This is by far my favorite book in the series. I love the way Rielle and Caleb have what the other needs. She needs someone to help her realize that being “normal” isn’t all its cracked up to be and he needs someone to calm his inner beast. They fit so well together and I know this is going to sound cliché but they really do complete each other.
I also loved the fact that we got a better look at how the Rogues came to be, and from a very surprising source I might add. For me anyways, it just helped me understand them more. But I did think it was funny that no matter how much logic Rielle threw at Caleb regarding the Rogues, he still stubbornly refused to see them any other way.
Overall this is a great book and the best in series yet. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

This is the first time reading this author but so delighted to have stepped into her world. The shifter world is in some ways so like the real world if you look close enough you could find a few characteristics in any human. This author has taken a tale of two shifter that are so different from each other but could if they allowed it be so good for each other. Caleb-son of alpha and also a Guardian for the pack stumbles into someone who he will soon want to protect-Rielle. Living amongst the humans with work she has always been attracted to Caleb but finds him very a gruff of a wolf. Rogues are killing but also some are under the protection of their pack which makes for a hard road to obey for Caleb. Rielle is also the pack historian which makes her a very interesting character. The two are soon around each other more than ever when everyone has to stay close to the pack thanks to killings. This opens it up for these two to learn more about each other and realize they are for each other they are mates. This author does a wonderful job in opening up the world of this dance for a reader to see the beauty of courtship between to potential mates especially these two who are so different. As you are privy to their relationship you will soon realize they were made for each other two halves that will make a whole. There is also a thread in this story that have not encountered before when one of the original pack members reveals a secret that was quite intriguing. Discovery will be a key foundation I do believe in this novel especially when Caleb is punished for a act that takes him on a different road for him. This is a wonderful tale of two who become one in the world of shifters that can this author has captured so well that also has the heat that only paranormal seems to generate. When you resurface back you will be saying I need to read more from this author. Received a copy for a honest review LOP(Lovers of Paranormal)

Caleb and Rielle, their differences couldn't be bigger. Caleb is a fighter and a whole-hearted guardian. Rielle lives in the city and tries to keep her distance from her wolf and the pack. But when the rogues come closer to the pack she has to move back to the pack and within reach of Caleb. Sparks are flying and tempers are boiling as soon as those two meet.
I didn't like it as much as the first two books, but it still was a great book. I enjoyed reading Caleb's and Rie's story and how the pack tries to fight off the rogues that pop up in their territory. I think it is a great idea to have this storyline still going. It connects all the books and ties them together really nicely.
This is a great story. Caleb is a manly man. He enjoys a good fight and he does not need much of a reason to fight. Rielle loves history, which makes her a great pack historian. She never thinks in a million years that she would be drawn to Caleb, the caveman as she thinks of him. But after spending an evening with him, she sees there is so much more to Caleb. Caleb does not think the beautiful Rielle would ever look at him twice. He always seems to put his foot in his mouth around her. Caleb is also one of the packs best Guardian. There are rogue wolves on the lose who have it out for the Black Mesa pack. Caleb's quick temper and need to fight will eventually get him into trouble. They will need to work together in order to fight this battle. This is a great love story with intrigue and danger.

Caleb is a guardian of his pack and he love a good fight. He tries hard to protect his packmates. Poor Caleb has no filter. He displays his feelings like a open book. Luckily for Rielle, she loves to read. Rielle is the pack historian and owns a dress shop in town. Rielle has been mingling with the human world too long and she has suppress her wolf. When Caleb and Rielle is get together it gets explosive in a good and bad way. I love how they both try compromise and understand each other. This novella is the third book of the Black Mesa Wolves Series. I really enjoy this series. I hope Ms. Karper continues with this series. I enjoyed the story of Caleb and Rielle. It developed over time in a very realistic way. I liked the way Caleb's hot temper attitude changed to thoughtful and caring when he was trying to win Rielle over. He is like two different people, the Guardian Wolf and the man who loves Rielle. Rielle is sweet, innocent, intelligent and she has to learn to let her wolf come into her own.
I also enjoyed that story about the rogue wolves. I am looking forward to finding out how that mystery plays out.
This was the best book of the series and I am looking forward to reading the next one.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review for LoP. I really enjoyed this series so far. Novella's are not my fav books to read, because either there is not enough to the story, or too much cramed into not many pages. Harper had no problems with this at all. This story was entertaining and had enough romance and shifter awesomeness to keep me reading! In fact my only issue with the series is that I wish they were longer! I loves Caleb and would read a series based on him alone! He has a temper(as per all male shifters) and enjoyed seeing him tryto reel it in. I will continue to read the series, and if you love paranormal romance pick it up it will not disappoint!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)*
I really liked this book. It was well written and easy to read. I enjoyed the love love story between Rielle and Caleb, the caveman. Rielle is the Pack historian. She lives and workes in town, away from all the other wolves. Caleb is a Guardian and the Alfas youngest son. He loves to fight. Hands, fists, jaws, paws, anything goes.
It is funny and the story builds up for the next book, so it kind of hard for me to wait for the 4th. Book to be reeleased. I recommend it and it's a fast read.
I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for this book. This is my favorite book in the series so far. I felt like the characters were very well developed, the romance was sweet and sexy and the plot was not rushed but given time to run it's course. And I was left ready for #4 to find out what is the big plan from those pesky Rogues.
love this series .book 3 in series.Great storyline , this was a lesson in the male having to woo his mate. also needing to learn how to control his temper .i enjoyed the whole book ,i am interested in learning what Caleb will be doing with himself now that the Alpha has come down on him for disobeying orders
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review for LoP. I love this book and the characters are great. Rielle lives with humans not with her pack. Caleb a guardian is having issue with all rouges. I can't wait for book 4. I highly recommend this series.
Caleb has a real hard time controlling his anger and he usually deals with it with his fists. Now a lot of the time that works just fine, but there are times when it just gets him in more trouble. With rogues still a worry and of course the fact that he can't confront the ones his father the Alpha has decided will be able to start their own pack just irks him.
He's barreling down the street in Durango, thinking about said rogues when he slammed into a woman. It's not just any woman though, it's a pack member.
Rielle mostly lives in the city and runs an upscale clothing store. She prefers to spend more time as a human than wolf and since she's the pack historian she can research anywhere.
Caleb gets a bit confused while arguing with her as his wolf searches for her wolf. Apparently, his wolf senses something he doesn't. That and even as they argue they both sort of notice an attraction. Caleb really is concerned about her lack of attention since they don't know where the rogues are. He also realizes when he needs to back off, but not before he sticks his foot in it...again.
Rielle's freedom in town does get curtailed however, and there is another stunning revelation. She and Caleb are mates. How that's going to work out is both fun and intriguing.
Rogues, fights, scares, new and very interesting people and just the right amount of sizzle.
I am already reading the next book of this series.
I loved this book when I read it as part of the Black Mesa Wolves Box Set. Black Mesa Wolves Box Set by J. K. Harper is a set of nine different books of the series all put together into the perfect reading order in one group. The nine books included in this set are: Guardian Wolf, Alpha Wolf, Hunting Wolf, Wild Wolf, Solstice Wolf, Christmas Wolf, New Year Wolf, Protector Wolf, and Fire Wolf. Every one of the books in this set was a wonderful read. Each individual book features a different couple who were forever mate and all of the stories are tied together as members of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack. I think anyone who loves reading about shifters or paranormal romance will love this box set where everyone eventually gets their happy ever after ending.
Well written story with an actual plot that connects to other stories but can be read as a stand alone with a HEA ending.
Son of the Alpha and Pack Guardian Caleb is fighting the outlaws and rogue wolves coming in from Canada to try to take the women and destroy the Pack. When he meets his mate his life turns tipsy turvy, can he keep both his newly found mate and his status as a Pack Guardian?
Talk about sitting on the edge of your seat, this one puts you there wondering what is going to happen. You can always tell with wolves that their mates are important to them. I love the stories you find out while reading this book.
You will find yourself laughing and crying while you read. Always hoping for the best. When Caleb gets in trouble with the Alpha you will find yourself holding your breathe too.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Caleb is a wolf shifter with a temper and he is learning to control it . Arielle is the pack historian who lives with humans but when she dealing with Caleb her wolf side comes out. So cute and awsome
Although this was another fun read, I get as if their story is incomplete. The way that they got together after fighting each other so long, just didn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the books. It was hard for me to believe that they went from strangers to mates overnight. I am glad they got there happy ending though.
Boy, do opposites attract in this novel. Caleb and Reille are so very different and yet they are so right together. I really enjoy this world and these shifters this author has created; her writing just feels so real that I could fall into the story. This is a wonderfully warm read and I recommend it to anyone who wants some romance in their day.
Caleb and Rielle's story in Hunting Wolf .is another great addition and book to this Series that I thoroughly enjoyed!I I loved all of the excitement and romance. Just like with the books prior to this one, I'm really excited for the next book in this Series!!!
Third book in the Black Mesa Wolves series, and this is the story of attack-first-then-think Guardian Caleb, and the pack's historian, shy Rielle. Well told, a good plot, nice protagonists (though Caleb came over as a bit dumb initially) - all in all a very enjoyable story to read, like all the others of this author I was able to put my hands on.
Caleb and Ree - what an adorable story! It's a typical yin/yang romance, but Harper's storytelling makes it a lot of fun. Plus, the story arc of the Black Mesa Series keeps things interesting. Onto the next one!
these wolves are seemingly insanely handsome and beautiful. are all shifters handsome and/or beautiful? got it, not all of them are. this family and their mates do appear to all be so. good series of stories.
How do a liberian and a pack guardian get together as mates? You have to read the book to find out. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is very well written!
