I was given this book to write an honest review from the goodreads group LOP lovers of paranormal.
I do like this author and enjoyed the book.
Having read previous books of the authors work I found this to be just as good.
The book was easy to follow with likeable characters. Tate was such a gentleman even though he didn't want to be! Claire was an feirsly independent women who was torn throughout the book, I liked her story of how she became who she is.
It was a standalone book which did touch on characters from previous books which was nice.
if you like your shifter books this one is for you.
Thanks

Tate Bardou is a guardian with the Black Mesa Wolves, but his true passion is training horses. There is not enough hours in the day for his passion until he came across a lone wild wolf. Tate knew instantly she was his mate. Claire Amarok is an established author who stays clear away from any packed wolf. Tate has to use all his knowledge and training to convince Claire that they have a chance of a relationship. It is a sweet and very steamy romance. It is a great addition to the series. I received this complimentary book from the Author in exchange for an honest review. (LOP or Lovers of Paranormal on Goodreads)

***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
***Contains graphic sex and language. Not for young readers***
***Cassandra Delorie #NerdGirlLola’s Review***

This is the 4 installment in the Black Mesa Wolves Saga. It is a standalone but, in my opinion, to really get the whole picture all previous books should be read in order.

I am torn with this book. I really liked the story of a Pack Wolf and a Wild Wolf getting together but the book left me with an uneasy feeling. Unlike the other books in the series the ending left me unsatisfied.

Before this book I had no idea that there were even Wild Wolves so that was a nice twist. I really liked how they also seemed to have that “love at first scent” thing going on. With the other books it took the couples a little while the figure out they were meant to be. Sometimes I just love reading about how explosive a LaFS romance is. And believe me the first time Claire and Tate come together it is like 4 tons of C4, that explosive. **fans herself**

I did have one other small issue with the book. There were quite a few errors in the book. Sometimes double words that didn’t make sense or a rather weird misspelling. The only reason I point this out is because the other books were damn near flawless in the grammatical error department. With this one I found myself having to stop and reread some sentences quite often.

All in all the story was good but I think my favorite is still the 3rd book in the series.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal)

I love books that are a part of a series that leave me wanting more of the characters. This was one of those books. I got to the end of the book and added these characters to the long list of characters I am not ready to part with at the end.

I felt like I was just finally getting to know the main characters, Claire and Tate, when the book ended. I wanted more and loved it.

My first book by this author. Whilst I generally stay away from books that involve shifting I thought I would give this one a try. For the main it is well written and easy to follow and the characters are largely realistic. The plot seems to be non existent except for raging hormones between he hero and heroine. When it seems to surface the plot is rather weak.

There was a threat from rogue wolves (an ex) but nothing that would have you sitting on the edge of your seat. In addition, the two female wild wolves would probably have outwitted the delinquent rogues rather easily and without too much of a fuss. The ending leaves much to be desired. It was rather abrupt, dissatisfying and the reader is left feeling is that it?

Of course as with many books these days spelling errors and grammatical faux paus abound throughout thebook. Was no editing done? A good and successful author has no errors throughout her work.

I loved this book when I read it as part of the Black Mesa Wolves Box Set. Black Mesa Wolves Box Set by J. K. Harper is a set of nine different books of the series all put together into the perfect reading order in one group. The nine books included in this set are: Guardian Wolf, Alpha Wolf, Hunting Wolf, Wild Wolf, Solstice Wolf, Christmas Wolf, New Year Wolf, Protector Wolf, and Fire Wolf. Every one of the books in this set was a wonderful read. Each individual book features a different couple who were forever mate and all of the stories are tied together as members of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack. I think anyone who loves reading about shifters or paranormal romance will love this box set where everyone eventually gets their happy ever after ending.

Beautiful and Exciting

Well it looks like the last of the Alphas cubs have found their mates, or has he. This is a very interesting story with twists and turns and excitement. Wolves always love a good chase and Claire gladly will give Tate a run for his money and maybe his sanity.

One of these stories won't be worth the read without the rogues that show up to cause trouble. More answers seem to be solved. I would love more of Tate and Claire's story.

4rth in the series. This can be read as a stand alone, but characters from the other books make an appearance. This was a freebie from Amazon.

For some reason, this story didn't hit me right. It was ok & I was able to get through it. I didn't really care for either the H/h. The hero talked in an exaggerated cowboy accent. None of his brothers or sister did. The heroine was annoyingly obstinate & acted TSTL towards the end. There's a danger that's threatening the heroine, but "Hey! Let's have sex". I'm just not into that stupidity.

The cover look great!

Wild Wolf

This is the story of Tate and Claire. The story is formulaic and only mildly interesting to me. But, I’ll give the author points for trying. It seemed that every time the story started showing some “oomph” it quickly stopped and couldn’t gel. The story that was there was not bad. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers.

Interesting book

This book has a very good plot and storyline. This is about a wild shifter wolf and a pack wolf shifter. They meet by chance as humans and both immediately know they are mates.
There are some rogue wolves, that turn out to be something else, and want the female shifter themselves.
I do recommend this book!

I love that at no time does the h’s choice get taken away (except very briefly from the baddy ...but y’all know what I mean) and I really respect that she’s never forced to choose, and the writer stuck to her guns and didn’t make her suddenly “want to for the sake of love” either. Loved it.

ARC review/unlimited

For honest review. This story is of Tate the youngest of the brothers and is a wolf shifter and horse whisper with a heart of gold. Meeting Claire has him trying to tame the Philly. This one was not my favorite but it's very cute.

Interesting story

Black Mesa wolves are a fierce pack that protects its own. J. K. Harper spins a story of two fated wolves, one pack and one wild. Leaves tears and pulls at your heartstrings. Tate is a Guardian fated to Claire, wild and free. Can it work?

Protecting his wild mate.

Absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it to any readers who enjoys great romantic shifter tales. I hope that others enjoy the tale of this pack cowboy wolf shifter and the wild beautiful wolf that is his mate.

Clair and Tate, what a pair. Her a Wild Wolf and him a Pack Wolf. Some adjusting to make it work. Rouge Wolfs that had gone crazy and full of hate. An amazing story. Full of wonder, love and danger. Very good story.

I enjoyed this immensely

I enjoyed this book, as we see the main female character be very independent and stand her ground a lot. I loved the story and characters who were all believable. The scenes were hot and charged, you could feel the tension and heat.

My favourite couple of the first four books in series, but abrupt endings always leave me a bit unsatisfied. Guess I need to read next book to see how their relationship works out.

You can never take the wild out of a wild wolf and put them in a pack, or can you? Another great book. Off to the next.

One of the worst story’s of the series. No substance. No clear resolution to their problems. Just sex. If you have nothing but sex between the characters DONT write the story.

Only one thing that bothered me,the use of the name Christ as an expletive when they mated was not really needed.

I gave 3 stars. Could’ve been 4 stars but the ending needed more. Or an epilogue. The ending is more like the beginning of their relationship.

There was absolutely no resolution to anything in this book. They literally admitted they had no idea how to make their relationship work and then the book ended?

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Lovers of Paranormal

Sexy as hell…

Loved Tate and Claire who are both dominant in their own way, yet tender. This is the first book where one of the brothers new his mate on sight. Claire however needed a little more convincing and ran from Tate when they first met.

Tate Bardou is a horse trainer and also a guardian wolf in the Black Mesa Pack.
Things are starting to look up for Tate. Some of Tate's favourite clients had taken such a shine to him they'd been recommending him to all their high society friends.
Tate is torn. He does not really want to be a guardian. He would rather work with the horses. But he will always stand by his pack.

On a trip to Denver with Caleb he catches an alluring scent. One he must find. Getting out of the car and following his nose, he sees her, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, who also happens to be his mate.

Clare was a wild wolf, which meant she was free of the politics and regulations of the rest of the shifter world. Claire lives in a neutral zone where pack rules didn't apply, and she was not bound by them. But there are rules to being a wild wolf.

No joining forces with any rogue wolves.
No trying to coerce any pack wolves into living as wild wolves.
No sharing with any humans, ever, the existence of shifters.

For Claire those rules were easy to keep. Now if only she could get The Ex! No Good to leave her alone!

Whilst walking down the street Claire sees Tate. He tries to talk to her but she runs from him. Tate being used to dealing with skittish horses does not give chase but he will find her.

I loved the romance being built up over the whole book. The fact Claire made him chase her and didn’t just roll over to his demands was a refreshing change.

As usual we had the rouges and after reading the other 3 books before this one I did let up a little cheer.
We learnt some more about what the rouges are up to and they involve Clare and Melle.

I was a little sad for Melle (Claire’s mother) and would love to read more about her.

Can Tate keep his independent mate safe without making her run from him?
