Lynn and Conner’s love story is told in such a way that it sweeps you off your feet right along with them. Both of the characters are believable and totally likable. Conner’s wife is a real piece of work. Lynn has issues with her best friend that she didn’t even know existed, and her bestie is the kind of lady that doesn’t want to be deterred. Add in some drama from a niece and nephew and you have the ingredients to create a “spicy” love story.

The author, L. Loren, spins a tale that is filled with ample humor and interesting characters. I loved that Lynn seemed to be starting over in her life after shouldering the responsibility of raising her niece and nephew. Her new love story comes at a time when she is ripe for fresh adventures. The perfect setting for a new romance.

I won't kid you here. There is explicit sex in this story. Nevertheless, those erotic scenes emphasized Lynn’s feelings for Conner and made their entire love story more credible.

This is L. Loren’s debut novel, and there are plans for Lynn and Conner’s love story to continue. The Wanderlynn Experience – Island Adventures, is the title of book two. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Conner and Lynn this time! I know it will be a fun and humor packed adventure.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review===>3.5 Stars

Connor is a man in a love/sex-less marriage. He finds out on his wedding day that he has been duped by his bride. He wants kids and his new bride quickly informs him that she has no intention of having kids -- ever!

In order to distract himself from his ratchet life, Connor throws himself into a mentoring program where he meets a 13-year old named Kaleb. They become close but soon afterwards Kaleb and his sister lose their mother in a tragic accident.

Enter their Aunt Lynn whom Connor meets at the funeral -- he is secretly and inappropriately smitten. Fast Forward in the Time Machine ... Meredith shows more of her true colors. Renea loses her damn mind. And, some men refuse to take "NO" for an answer! I'm going to leave you hanging here so you can read the book for yourself.

There is something that is subtlety mentioned that happens in this book. I have my suspicions, so I made a special highlighted note, nothing jumped off in Book 1, which means the author is saving the hi-jinks for Book 2. I'm looking forward to finding out if I'm right -- or wrong! Book 1 of 2?

L. Loren makes a great erotica debut! ♥

I put my heart into writing this. It is my first attempt at writing in the romance/erotica genre. I call what I write LoveRotica because it is a love story with an edge of sexy. That means there are some sex scenes, but they are there as a normal progression of the relationship. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it. Book 2 of the 3 book series will be out soon.

2 “Didn’t connect” Stars

I have a lot of mixed emotions on this book. Mainly because, I know this is the first book by this author and I think it is a great achievement for them to put their work out here and share it with the world. However, this one was not for me, I had a very hard time connecting with both Conner and Lynn throughout the whole book.

The writing started off really stiff and the dialog came across as really formal but as the book progressed the writing did improve some. I felt there was some issues with past and present tense which was a bit confusing. The author did a lot of telling us what was happening or was going to happen instead of using her words to paint a picture and show us.

There was a lot of drama for what seemed like drama sake that could have been cut out or dealt with a little differently. There were murders, parental drama, nasty spouses., jealous friends, unwanted admirers, a nasty ex-boyfriend situation, and more. I felt like there was so much thrown at the main characters that it probably would’ve been better to focus on only one or two of those dramatic issues instead of having them all in there.

I would’ve liked to seen how the deaths that occurred in the beginning of the book help to shape who Connor became as a man. Also, how becoming the guardian of her niece and nephew changed Lynn’s live. We get a little tid-bits here and there but again we are told and not shown how these dramatic events affected the characters.

After writing this review I went back and read some other posted and she has several very great reviews on this book some 3-5 stars. So maybe this was the case of its me not you. Not everyone is going to love every book they read and that’s okay.

This book is the first in this series of I believe three books, and it does end in a sort of cliffhangerish manger. Overall for a first novel I felt that this one was okay. But I honestly don’t feel the need to read the following books in this series. I wish L. Loren all the best in her writing adventures and I hope that her next project had even more success than this one has had.

This is my honest review of a book that I received for advance reading/review. It is a very sweet story and I loved the main characters. I enjoyed the way Lynn was portrayed. She was intelligent and independent and successful. She didn't need anything from Connor, she wanted him for himself and the mutual attraction they had for each other was adorable. I also enjoyed how it went back and forth from her point of view to his throughout the story. Highly recommended!

Worth the read.

Lynn and Connor are perfect together. This story is well paced with a great flow. Ends on a slight cliff-hanger, but could be read as a stand alone.

This was a really cool story, I don't like cliffhangers but thank God I read this story when part two was out. So I am cool to see what's next for Connor and Lynn and the twins

A powerful novel from an author who many will love. This is romance, love, and life at it’s very best. “The Layover” from L. Loren is a hit from the very first word.

“The Layover” is one of the most powerfully emotional and honest novels I’ve ever read. It is the story of the resilience of the heart, even in the face of devastating loss, and of how the capacity to hope and courage to love, despite all risk, define us as human. This is love and lust at its literary best.

Lynn Sutton lives a great life, with the smarts to match and no strings attached. As the successful owner of a luxury travel concierge service, she is building an empire that only a goddess like her can handle. Until one day, life throws the ultimate curve ball when she loses her only sister in a tragic car accident, and becomes the sole guardian of her niece and nephew. After years of focusing solely on the twins and her career, Lynn is left with the empty nest syndrome when the twins go off to college. She decides it’s time to refocus on herself and her love life. And she’s got her sights set on one man. That man is Connor.

It’s very rare to read a page-turner of a novel that not only entertains, but also lays bare raw, and very honest, emotions – from hopelessness and despair to elation and joy. “The Layover” is that rare book that stays with you long after you finish reading it, and makes you think about what is most important in your life. It’s a beautifully written story, its language both straightforward and poetic. With descriptions that are as vividly drawn as the authors thoughts and emotions.

I must mention Connor Wyatt. For me, he was an excellent character who has been given all the hallmarks of success—but has never managed to fall in love. He desperately wants a family and when his marriage breaks up he rediscovers how exciting it can be with Lynn. He is such a strong character I was hooked on every word written about him.

This author surprised me. I was entranced with her characters, their chemistry and the way she put emotions to paper. This is a book that you should be reading. Beautiful writing does not do it justice. I would read more from this author and have no issue at all with giving her five stars!

3.5 stars....This book was a hoot! I really enjoyed Connor and Lynn POV. The only problem I have is that we don't see Meredith much. I was hoping she would be the one causing the drama. Insted of Renea, who I felt was a bit too much and too random. I can't wait for part two.

This was an interesting read. Well paced with interesting characters. I loved that there was no cheating in this, and the H/h were very likable. There was a little lag in parts, but overall great job. Would certainly check out more works by this author....oh, and steamy sex scenes. *winks awkwardly*

Good start

Considering this is the author's first novel I would say she did pretty good. I was happy to see Connor's dominant side making an appearance towards the end.

I LOVE Lynn and Connor! It was nice to read a love story featuring two very adult, likeable characters, dealing with mostly realistic dramatic situations, which were happy, tragic, funny, and irritating. The interactions and conversations between the H/h were sweet, and the sex was steamy.
The author brought the characters to life with her writing skills, and the book was a literary treat with very few editing issues.
The story ends on a cliffhanger, but I didn't much mind that, as I have the second book to read ASAP...lol

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. There were some things I found really cute about this story and other things that didn't quite sit well with me. I actually liked Connor better than Lynn and it's rare that I like the hero more than the heroine. Connor wasn't perfect by any means, the drama with his wife Meredith in the beginning drove me batty. For this to have been LL's first story, I think she's off to a good start.

The couple: Lynn and Connor

Romance trope: contemporary
Series: WanderLynn Experience
Length: 163 pages

Plot: Connor is trapped in an unhappy marriage when he meets Lynn. She is the guardian of a young man that he mentors and it's love at first sight. But they are constrained by Connor's marriage and so they become friends. When the opportunity arises for them to finally be together, they grab that change, but there are outside forces conspiring against them.

Commentary: There are some things that threw me off in this book. One is the amount of yelling and hollering and screaming, with it being announced by dialogue tags and capital letters. I feel that if a writer is skilled enough, the scene should indicate that level of excitement. Writing a word in all caps is usually juvenile writing.
The story was solid - I liked the idea of them finding each other but then sticking to their integrity and values and not starting an affair. I felt like the character development was a little sticky, though. There were two villains, and they were melodrama victims, sans twirling mustache. In some ways, Connor was presented as a stereotypical nerd, but it was only mentioned briefly, while other times, he was presented as a dirty-thinking alpha. I wish there had been more integration of the two - he would have seemed more well-rounded. I liked Lynn - she was kind, if a little materialistic.

Grammar/formatting: some mixed-up words, such as "amble" for "ample" and "viral" for "vital."

Next book in the series: Island Adventures

Crazy People

I have mixed feelings on this one. Loved the billed up to the relationship, but all the side issues seemed to take away from the story. Her friend and her crazy client relationship didn't seem to felt. It felt out of place. I hope the second book gets rid of the low hanging fruit and focus more on the main characters.

The Layover?

I guess I missed why the story was called The layover. Anyway, this was a nice IR story with a good chemistry between the couple. I only have one complaint with the story. The C word usage for his thing. It's so old-fashioned. Otherwise, it was a nice quick read.

Enjoyable

Loved the story line and the two main characters. I think there were too many interruptions by Lynn's wanna be lover's. But it's still a good read none the less and looking forward to the sequel.

Connor and Lynn were two good people that deserved to have someone special in their lives. Lynn stepped up when her sister passed and the way Connor was hoodwinked by his wife someone who he really didnt want to marry was just wrong but we also need to know what is really going on with malcolm and renea

Finally love

This was a nice story I enjoyed how Lynn was so devoted to her family niece and nephew. Connor was a good man he been through some hard times but that didn't change the fact that he was a giving person. It was really nice to see Connor and Lynn come together. I didn't understand all the drama what the best friend and the client.

A little stiff

The writing was a little bit too stiff for me. The dialogue was extremely proper and the author didn't let us experience any actions or emotions between the characters. We were told what was happening/had happened instead.

Outstanding!

This was perfect. Slightly older characters. Her self made business was unique and I loved reading how she built it up.
Pleased to see 2 is here.
Love it and the drama. The kids were well written too
