The Bayou Springs Dating Agency is not what it seems. And the Arnot boys ain't just a trio of swamper bubbas hanging at the roadhouse where they brew and serve up their signature beer, "Gator Piss." Nope, these good ole boys are actually good-guy aliens! They're part of the modern underground railroad that rescues human women from some seriously bad-intentioned off-worlders, and they do it by pretending to be the ladies' fiances. In this case, it's Echo Arnot faking matrimonial intent in order to save sweet Naomi. Except Echo knows Naomi's the real deal for him, while Naomi's got secrets and issues, none of which are compatible with Echo and happily ever after. Naturally, the simmering sexual tension between them is spicier than jambalaya. Despite Naomi's rebuffs, when the lady needs a southern gentleman's protection, Echo is the one to man up and take care of business. I don't do spoilers, but I'm of the opinion that just like brothers Zeke and Gunn before him, he does one helluva good job. Besides, reading his story is as crazy-thrilling as paddling a pirogue through a gauntlet of gators. And the ending? Hoo-WEE!! Makes me wish there were more Arnot brothers.
