Moralities

Rate this book
Why do sex scandals no longer sweep presidents from power? What political impetus has produced the first war crimes trial since Nuremburg? What social currents cause thousands to demonstrate against globalisation? If the 20th century was characterised by the struggle between freedom and tyranny, the great battle of the 21st will be between global capitalism and human rights. Our moral barometer is shifting, ejecting church and State from our private lives to a secular code based on justice, equality and human rights. argues Joan Smith in a powerful polemic that captures the face of the changing political and social landscape.
