This book is... Moderately ok. The author writes clearly, and DOES summarize a considerable amount of technique and advice when it comes to situational awareness, avoiding trouble, and dealing with personal safety.

However, I found a considerable amount of this book to be fear-mongering. While I appreciate the anecdotes, I think it would be easy to come away with the idea that going through the drive through at McDonald's (or, heaven forbid, the bank) is FOR sure going to get you robbed.

Also, this book picked a few scenarios (being a taxicab driver, for instance) and spent a considerable amount of time discussing them in a way that didn't feel like it added much to the overall instruction.

Want to avoid dangerous situations? About one third of this book is about how to avoid danger as a taxi or limo driver, so if you're not a taxi or limo driver, you've got a leg up from the get-go! Also, carry a gun everywhere you go, because you will absolutely be able to shoot anyone who threatens you and there's no chance you'll accidentally shoot yourself in the foot, or kill an innocent bystander, even if you're under extreme mental stress and have limited training. SAFETY Y'ALL!
