As an author myself, I read a lot of 'newbie' authors (hoping to find good ons to add to my list and maybe to learn something). I see some good and some bad. Once in a great while I see something great and this book fell into that category! Proofing and Editing were both very acceptable, characters were well developed, the story was intriguing and fun. I only get to read for a short while each evening and absolutely looked forward to picking up where I left off each night. This author could have a wonderful writing career ahead of her - this was a great start! For me, her book was well worth the read and I'll recommend it to any reader that enjoys this genre. Kudos, Ashley Scott!!!
I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It had a very good story-line and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the writing style is different than I'm use to and it took several chapters for it to start flowing easily for me. That could be completely different for someone else. I am hoping their might be a second book in the series, though they did bring it to a close quite nicely!
This was a really good book. I have been reading for over 40 years and am picky. But I can say that this book with its wonderful storyline and characters was not a chore. Everything was interesting and easy to keep up with. I say give it and read and be surprised with this new author.
