An audit from heaven. A murder from hell. A mess only a psychic can sort out…
Mary Catherine Mahoney, MC for short, has her work cut out for her. When a notorious bad boy turns up dead in Miami, the ex-wife turns to MC for help. It turns out the deceased left the ex-wife an envelope with instructions on what to do after his death. With the envelope empty, only MC’s psychic genes can solve the case.
When Sister Hildegard and Sister Matilda come to town, they call on MC as well. They’re being audited. Not by the IRS, but by the Vatican! The feisty nuns tell MC she needs to handle the audit so that a certain “something” stays a secret.
Throw in some zany Greek aunts, a treasure hunt in Key West, and an encounter with her ex, and you’ve got more than enough work for MC to handle. If she’s up for the jobs at all…
Feisty Nuns is the third book in a series of cozy mysteries. If you like zany, relatable characters, upbeat cinematic stories, and edge-of-your-seat plot twists, then you’ll love Rita Moreau’s lively whodunnit.
Rita Moreau is the author of the Mary Catherine Mahoney cozy mystery series and the Ghost & Camper kooky mystery series.
A workaholic by nature, upon retirement, Rita began work on her bucket list, writing a book. Traveling the national parks with her husband George in a vintage Bluebird motor home, (on George’s list), Rita completed her first novel Bribing Saint Anthony in the Mary Catherine Mahoney cozy mystery series. Back home she kept going and completed 5 more in the series. During the year we entered the twilight zone Rita completed the first two books in the Ghost & Camper kooky mystery series and kept going and completed 2 more in the series. Rita lives in wacky Florida where her dear husband George always had fun telling folks he's the author’s husband. Rita lost the love of her life after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She misses him every minute but promised him she would continue writing so he could tell everyone he meets in heaven that he's the author's husband. Okay book about the Archbishop trying to close the convent down if they didn't follow what they wanted The church men didn't think the nuns did anything worth while. The nuns were treating badly and did not get the same things other did in the church. Some of the nuns were psychics . Pirates , a treasure map , old artifacts come in to play and a iguana named Izzy come to help them . Kind of weird toward the end to me.
Laughed over this one. An outrageous plot but politically relevant concerning RC church and Vatican Bank and other scandals along with politically active nuns.
This story is a delightful mIx of mystery, romance, psychic insight, pirates, aliens and humor. I dint like spoilers so I well let you enjoy the story as it unfolds.
What’s not to like? It involves a map to a hidden treasure, church politics, government cover-ups, dedicated women from different walks of life, a story of lost love found, and of course, feisty nuns who try to find a way around the patriarchal church leadership so they can use a treasure to benefit the local residents. Despite some typos and a few misspelled words, it was enjoyable from cover to cover.
This is a light-hearted mystery with fun characters. It has something for everyone, except graphic violence and sex! There are psychic accountants and nuns, a possibly psychic lizard, a government secret, a religious threat, and two men fighting for the love of the heroine. This book was funny and entertaining. It is an easy read for whenever you just want to relax. I can easily recommend it.
This is my first M C Mahoney book..l wasn't sure if l would like a psychic accountant or nuns but did enjoy this book. Crooked cardinals, bishops and politicians intent on hiding stolen treasure at the Vatican...what more could you possibly ask for??? I've already bought the next book...
The bishop has aligned himself with this powerful cardinal, and wants to make a statement, by doing the first audit there. With orders coming from the Vatican. The Superior has always keep the nuns under the radar. Now they want MC to handle the audit and keep the secrets. The laughs are many along with a zany cast of characters. Delightful to read.
Another fun book about the feisty sisters of Saint Anthony's and the former IRS agent, Mary Catherine! This one has some fun, unexpected twists along with the intrigue that MC always seems to live with.
I've grown to love these characters that include everything from feisty nuns to southern red-neck. This was such a fun book with a crazy twisty plot. Let's just say it was UNEXPECTED. Great conclusion to the series.
This is a fast paced, intoxicating mystery with a nod to the government, the Vatican, mafia types, nuns and the elites in coastal setting of Florida. I almost forgot Izzy, an iguana with attitude. Mix it all together for a very enjoyable few hours.
This is the best book in this series so far. The first was good but a bit convoluted, the second was a bit woo-woo but this one was interesting, with a clever plot and an unpredictable ending.
Rita has a way to capture your attention. Just like the first two books in the series, you don't want to put the book down. I can't wait to start the next book. Great job Ri
Just because you are a Nun doesn't mean that everything is hunky dory, does it??? MC has to work around all the obstacles in her path, doesn't she??? I enjoyed this story and Izzy and recommended the book.
I loved the antics of MC and Velma. They get themselves into trouble without trying. The tax office is always open and poof in walks the feisty nuns or their fun loving aunts!
The book was good, but I loved the Feisty Nuns. The actual nuns. It was so easy visually imagining the conversations they had with MC and her Aunts. Great ending.
What a great title for this awesome read! Nuns trying to help women and the diocese was trying to get rid of them due to a treasure supposedly on that land. This is a definite must read to find out all the things going on
