Too Many Notes🎶 The book is an ADULT historical romance set in thirteenth century Scotland. It also has paranormal elements because the Matheson descendants are part fae, and have certain abilities, such as second sight and empathic ability.
I did have some problems with the number of characters, which I found somewhat confusing at times, especially in the beginning. The book is a little bit like a soap opera, in that the characters keep changing partners, too, which added to the confusion. The dialogue between the principal characters skipped back and forth between a Scottish brogue and modern speech and phrases which didn't belong in a period romance. Some happenings that were left out of the book but alluded to, should have been included, to improve the story.
ARC Received from Booksprout🌱 This ebook was $3.99 on Amazon at the time of this review. Opinions Expressed here are my own.
The book does have some continuity problems regarding modern language and terms in a few places, as well as some things that had not been invented yet being in use. Overall, it's an interesting story and a quick read.
When two are meant to be together, how can they not? Coll MacKenzie and Fiona had soul bonded when they were young, whether they acknowledged it or not. But is seemed they were destined to be pulled apart. That is until Coll comes home after being away and she is there. I really enjoyed this well written story as the 9th book in the series. I think Coll is really one of my favorite.! Don't miss this one or any in this wonderful series.
Joanne Wadsworth weaves her usual magical way of writing with her latest book, "Highlander's Touch". This is Coll and Fiona's story, both have fae blood and are soul bound mates. Fiona knows that but Coll fights it all the way, putting honor for his clan before anything else. There were a few times I wanted to smack him upside the head for his stubbornness....good thing he's sexy! lol It's up to Fiona to make him see the truth of their bond and what follows is a chase through the beautiful Highlands and passionate moments that will surely make you curl your toes:) There are some humorous scenes as well...loved it when Fiona tastes the chocolate covered strawberries for the first time!! All in all, I loved the story from start to end and highly recommend this whole series.

Coll MacKenzie and Fiona both have Fae blood and were attracted to each other. But Coll had been commanded to marry a Laird’s daughter to bond the two clans, so he will not accept Fiona. When the marriage has fallen through, Fiona will not accept him pushing her away again when she now knows they share a soul bond!
Unfortunately, Coll does not accept the idea of a soul bond. Fiona will have to leave to make the hunt occur to convince him they are mates. She knows it is time to enforce the mated hunt, a chase all her Fae kind long to begin. Theirs is a battle of heart and soul, desire, and a hunt across the wilds of Scotland. When Coll finally gives in to the hunt, he chases Fiona and they will feel the mated bond begin taking form between them. Will he then acknowledge she was telling him the truth? Are they really soul mates? Will he finally give in and accept her as his?
This was a good story of a determined woman having to forcefully win her stubborn man’s heart! The characters were well presented and kept the reader’s attention to see if Fiona could invoke the hunt, especially after being pushed away the first time. Does she win his heart at last? Grab your copy and find out whether they truly are soul mates meant to be together.
Coll MacKenzie has been commanded to marry another Laird’s daughter. This will confirm the bond between the two clans. Fiona has a fae bloodline, and she has always had a bond of attraction with Coll, but as he’s agreed to wed another, she has a plan to save herself from her father’s demands. She and the gentle giant, Matthew, have agreed to marry . He can take care of her as she will him in this marriage of convenience. They’ve been honest to each other about marriage expectations. She loves Coll, and Matthew still mourns his dead wife, Elspeth. He and his wife had been captured together as children, and they loved each other deeply even though the marriage wasn’t consummated due to his castration.
Months later, Coll’s planned marriage has fallen through. Since he cannot have Fiona, he enters into another agreement with a different laird’s daughter. When he returns to his brother’s keep, Coll discovers that Fiona has been widowed and resides there. After a dream-like encounter, Fiona leaves so that the “hunt” can begin and show Coll that they are fated mates.

I have read several books in the Matheson Brothers series, and unfortunately, I have found them to be of variable quality. I find myself disappointed in this particular installment because the presentation is choppy and just odd. So much action seems to happen outside of the pages of the book, off screen so to speak. We are just told of things happening, not shown them, and then are only shown some repercussions of what we were told about before the book moves on to the next somewhat discombobulated telling portion. This book is just odd. And I would call it steamy to the point of being crude, which is not my favorite. I don't mind a certain level of explicitness in intimate scenes, but it can be taken too far in a book that isn't specifically called erotica. This book, I think, teeters on that edge. While some of the books in the series are worthwhile, this one was just disjointed and strange.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
It is Fiona and Coll's turn to see if they are able to heed the call of their soul match or let life get in the way. This couple already had to deal with other people interfering with their destiny. The way their story unfolds deals with Coll's sense of loyalty and Fiona's strength in the face of adversity. This book picks up where the last one left off and flows right into Fiona and Coll's part in this family saga. I have enjoyed all the books in this series thus far and find that it is easier to follow if you start at the beginning. I started in the middle and went back just to fully understand all of the players. All of the characters are interconnected with some crossover in each book. If you enjoy a good paranormal book with a hint of fantasy, then you will enjoy this entire series. I recommend giving this book and the rest a try.

Really enjoyed this book! This is the first book Ive read in this series and I couldn't put it down! Fiona and Coll have fae blood and have been drawn to each other for years. Coll turned away from her once before and allowed her to marry another, she refuses to allow him to do it again now that she has discovered their soul bond.
During the time Coll and Fiona have been apart, Coll has promised to marry another to strengthen his clan. Fiona tries to convince Coll of their soul bond but Coll denies it. Fiona is determined to show Coll that they are soul mates and enforces the mated hunt, a chase all her fae kind long to begin. And although Coll does not believe they are soul mates, he gives in to the hunt and chases Fiona. What will happen once he catches her? Will Coll give in to the pull of his soul mate and his love for the fiery Fiona?

This book in the continuing series by Joanne Wadsworth revolves around Coll and Fiona. As with all the books to date in this series, there is a touch of the paranormal as well as hot highlanders and strong-willed women who know how to go after what they want! Coll was stubborn to a fault but Fiona knew just how to make him see reason. She was bound and determined not to lose him to his sense of duty and obligation for a second time! It does help to have read the previous books in the series since we do get to visit with all the previous characters but it is not absolutely necessary to enjoy this book. Very good!!

The Laird of Carron Castle, Coll MacKenzie has promised to marry the daughter of an allied chiefs daughter in order to secure the future of his clan. Being half fae he does not understand that he is soul bound to Fiona who is also half fae. In order to strengthen the fae blood in his clan the immortal fae princess, Cherub will not allow Coll to marry another. This is another great Highlander Fae book byJoanne Wadsworth. I have enjoyed all of the series and can't wait for more.

This is such an awesome for any fan of this author and any one who loves historical highlander's with a touch of the paranormal! The plot, characters and story building were off the charts. I loved Coll and Fiona and watching them grow and come together in the story. Their both interesting and feisty characters bound to be soul mates. Their interactions and banter made me laugh and made for a great read a must read for any fan! I can't wait to read more!!!

This was the lighthearted yet steamy story of Coll and Fiona. I enjoyed the snippets from Cherub and Kirk about “the next bonded mates” setting the scene for Interesting things to unfold for this pair. It was humorous yet frustrating watching Coll struggle to deny a bond partnered with Fiona repeatedly running away. With clan commitments, words of honour and a Fae bond all in the mix, there were so many twists and turns in this plot. How can one deny something that was meant to be. Loved it!

This author has away of delivering some great storylines that flow easily and this is no exception. Coll and Fiona are a strong pair it was a delight to finally have them have their HEA once the mule opened his eyes to the truth. As always the characters are well developed and engaging making for a treat to read.

Perhaps a new beginning? The books in this series just get better and better I look forward to reading Ms. Wadsworth when I see she has one of her books on Booksprout. This quick read is just as sensational as I was expecting. Coll and Fiona's story had some lovely twists. Sometimes characters just need to let fate take over and perhaps a new beginning can occur. I loved the book and highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Obstinate man, stubborn woman, and fiery red hair can only signal an unforgettable mate bond. However, it can also mean a clash that could lead to a lifelong heartbreak. Fiona and Coll must find a way to work together or separate forever. Highlander’s Touch is an enjoyable novel that I recommend.

Men can be so stubborn! Honestly, there were times I wanted to smack Coll upside his head.....which is just a testimony to how well this story is written and how successfully it draws the reader in! It is another fast paced piece of the saga, and I cannot wait for the next installment.

Book nine in The Matheson Brothers series and also book three in The Fae series a well written book that held my interest throughout. This series just gets better with each new book, I hope there is more to come. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 Another excellent story. This series is delightful. Fiona is feisty, opinionated, independent and strong. Coll is loyal, trustworthy, strong, stubborn, and devoted to doing what is best for his clan.
I’m afraid I would have to read the others to understand certain people and points in this one and I haven’t read the others, so I was confused with who really were Kirk and Cherub. Good story and the connection of Coll and Fiona.
The chemistry and intense feelings the two main characters share is soul deep and palpable. Coll must come to terms with his duty to his clan and true mate. must read

I enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for more from this book. They have a good page turning relationship. This is my voluntarily review from booksprout.
Highlander's Touch by Joanne Wadsworth is an entertaining read. This is a fairly quick read, a perfect choice for those with limited time for reading. Ms Wadsworth has again delivered a well written book. I love that she incorporates characters from previous books into the present book, it's like visiting old friends. Coll and Fiona's story is fast paced and full of drama, humor and paranormal hijinks. I enjoyed Highlander's Touch and look forward to my next book by Joanne Wadsworth. Highlander's Touch is book 3 of The Fae Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I received a copy of this book for review purposes.
I was gifted this book; this is my honest review. -Of all the 9 books this is the best so far and I greatly enjoyed it. -This is Coll and Fiona's story. Why do we see Kirk loving Cherub while it's not their story? -Confused. In her story book, Kyla said she would wear the name Christina again once she was wed (and she is now and was in that book already) and yet she "love being called Kyla" a name giving to her by her abductor (Colin). She was never confused at to who she was, always known she was Christina. Why keep the charade? It's downright frustrating and absolutely makes no sense at all. -Coll was gone 16 months (or 18?) but didn't bring his personal journal. Taking the chance of not writing something important and/or having someone reads his personal thoughts is a no-no. -Since it's Beth's other twin's story, her story is told as well. Only once this time. -I thought it odd that Fiona would be place in Coll's connecting chambers; no one knew they were soul bound, even themselves. This is the laird's wife's chambers. -I really, really laughed when Fiona barred her door but Coll came the other way from his chambers. -It was unfair of Fiona to think Coll would know the meaning of her wearing a certain dress. Many women think like that but no one is a mind reader. Be clear. -LOL. I had to laugh when Fiona thought petting with her knocked Coll out. He had travelled all day (or all night?) as stated not much later and that was why. -Christina says Ella takes great care when using her fae skills, which is totally untrue. Read her story to check it out. -I greatly felt her pain when Fiona returned alone to Carron Castle. -Good moments. Christina is sooo obvious when she asks Coll about his soul bound "Do you sense the need to chase her? Because if you do ...". She also ate most of the strawberries meant for Coll and Fiona. -Repeat WFW from other books 1. Matthew's demise, his nick festering. 2. The lanky-legged lad, what he's doing and how he's dressed. 3. The seagull and the chase. 4. The dangling ties where the deep V is, how it hangs loose and where she puts her finger. -Editing: missing periods, double possessions, missing words, the "over top" problem came back "crawled in over top of her" "slid in over top of her" - this is getting ridiculous!
If you haven't read one of Joanne Wadsworth's books, you are missing hot, sexy Highlanders who have a lot of passion.
Coll MacKenzie has returned home to Carron Castle after gathering more warriors to protect his clan. He left as Fiona was marrying Matthew (widower) and he was engaged to Kyla. However, things have changed within the 16 months that has passed as Matthew passed away and Kyla married her soul mate, Duncan, who is Coll's twin brother.
Coll now has been arranged marriage contact to Elizabeth MacRaes to strengthen the clan lands as he doesn't know that Matthew died leaving Fiona free. Fiona knows she is Coll's soul mate and now she must make him realize it.
Coll doesn't know Fiona is within the castle and starts fantasying making love to her. Fiona is right next door as she hears moans and decides to check it out. This is the beginning of a very passionate dream so Coll thinks, but Fiona knows differently.
Since Coll refuses to acknowledge the soul bond, Fiona must make him chase her. Does Coll catch up with her and gives into the passionate that has ignited between them? What about Elizabeth and his arranged marriage contract?
I love how Joanne weaves a story of love and passion with the element of danger. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
