"Atlantis" the first installment in The Akashic Trials by Cristiana DiPietro, is an action packed adventure story that spans centuries, where the end of the world is in the balance, and an epic love holds the key to survival.
While the book "Atlantis" is set in the present day, the adventures are all tied to the past. Centuries ago the island of Atlantis was destroyed and with it the infamous Hall of Records, all buried deep below the ocean water off Greece. The Hall of Records is known among archaeologists as the most powerful and legendary artifact, holding the knowledge to how it all began and more. New members to the archaeologist movement, Lee and Austin, bring the treasures of yesterday to the hungry adventurous followers of their live feed. Together this duo excavated digs in many regions of the world, in search of the long buried stone skull artifacts. Even though the rift of their breakup started to have ripple effects, their show continued to became a sensation, with more followers coming on board all the time. They soon attracted the attention of a wealthy group of researches, who had insights into the skulls and their meaning as an instrumental key on the now resurfaced island of Atlantis. Once Lee and Luke arrived at the island, Lee finally started to put together her visions and with it came the growing sense of familiarity to Luke. Austin in his jealousy had plans, and set in motion the keys to unlock the Hall Of Records. Here the past and present start to collide for Lee, Luke and Austin, and they begin to understand why the artifact was buried in the first place. However, even though its too late to stop the trials of the seven deadly sins, is it too late to stop the powerful artifact getting into the wrong hands, and stop the evil that is about to reap havoc into the world? Will their knowledge of their past lives and their love be enough?
The characters in this book are well developed, and continue to grow as the plot starts to unravel. Lee our female heroine in this story is easily identified with, and evokes a powerful stream of emotions. From her first heart break with her co-worker, the betrayal of a best friend, finding the need to remain focused on work challenges, to her exciting new adventures and epic love with Luke, it is easy to remain captivated by her story. Her new found energy and persistence to take on each part of the adventure and battle the seven deadly sins shows how she really has changed throughout the story. Luke, her side kick, has known that Lee is his true soul mate while watching their live stream, remains loyal and trustworthy throughout the adventure. Knowing he would move heaven and earth for her, adds to the element of romance. Seeing them grow stronger from being united again really adds more depth to the story.
With every hero in an adventure story, there is a villain. In this story it is Austin. Portrayed from the beginning as an attention seeking, selfish psychopath, Austin's character continues throughout the story to become more repellent. In the trials, his need for power and wealth, really show evil in it's true self. Cristiana DiPietro's portrayal of the villain add a definite exciting and thrilling element to the story.
Overall "Atlantis" can be described as a stand out adventure story, where the twists and turns makes this book a page turner. The adventures of the seven trials brings increased thrill and anticipation to the series, and truly stands out as monumental to the plot. Adding Atlantis, a well known legend, brings mystery and intrigue. The artifacts, including the seven bone skulls and the necklace adds a nice creative touch. Lastly, the unraveling of the past through the trials and characters to the end (No Spoilers) wraps up this story nicely. Combined, all elements, make "Atlantis" a compelling and entertaining read.
Overall, "Atlantis, The Akashic Trials" I recommend this book to all readers seeking a truly thrilling adventure and the romance of a soul love. For all reasons detailed in my review, it is easy to give this book a 5-star review. I eagerly await what Cristiana DiPietro has install for us in the 2nd installment to the series.

Love Trials to Atlantis
This was a beautiful journey that made perfect spiritual sense. Lee and Luke reliving an unfinished love story of two people that helped change our future. The destruction of Atlantis and the Evil Belial that always fought the Law of One. The end result was balance and acceptance of our humanness. More to be revealed! Thank you so much!
