Mason Black is an ex soldier now ER DR. The adrenaline rush of a busy ER keeps him on his feet and helps him deal with his memories. A hot piece of mancandy to the nurses, Mason doesn't have much use for woman and prefers the company of his dog Sam.

That is until Tess Delacroix lands in his ER with severe injuries. There is just something about this young dark haired beauty that has Mason intrigued. A friendship forms between these two, but when Mason finds out she is only 18, he makes a decision that will separate them for two years..

description
"Are you sure you can handle me?” I asked. “I’m a man, Tess, not like whatever boys you might have played around with before."
description

description

Unfortunately I didn't love this one. I think this author has potential for sure, but this was a bit of a chore to get through...

We start off with Tess being SEVERELY injured and Mason saving her life. There is something that intrigues him about her, so he starts to stop by and visit. A tentative friendship forms. When he finds out her age (18) he basically decides things can't happen and just stops going to see her. A week later she is released and BAM we are now two years in the future!!

This jump ahead felt VERY jarring to me. Prior to her accident Tess was going to compete in the Worlds for gymnastics. In the hospital no one is sure she will even get full mobility back. Two years later she is back to 100% and competing again? Not to mention that problems with her deadbeat Dad are alluded to, but how did things go with THAT over the two years??

description

My other problem was I just never felt a connection between these two characters. Friendship at first, sure, but neither sought the other out in the two years after and all of a sudden he is popping hardons and she is trying to seduce him in her dilapidated southern mansion.

When they finally do have sex (@ 85% in) the dialogue is really rather cheesy and my eyes might have rolled a bit. Like I said, this author has potential, but this needed to be WAY more fleshed out. The whole deadbeat criminal Dad needed to be fleshed out more. The relationship between Mason and Tess needed more buildup and time spent together. The author does get props for having a nice epilogue though.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

This is definitely a quick fun read! I didn't know what exactly was going to happen and how the plot would be like but after finishing the story I have to say that I enjoyed reading Mason and Tess's story. I admit, their beginning is not how most people would like to meet, in an ER with broken bones but as the story progressed they became great friends and also their chemistry was spot on. That is until Mason finds out Tess's age and what happened to his colleague and his career. That quickly puts a stop to their friendship and before you know it two years pass. And that really ticked me off. It was like a (almost too) sharp transition in the story that left me wondering at what happened with their lives as those two years passed. Yes, we get some details but a lot was left untold. I like my books to be told in a fluid motion and that won't leave me guessing. Also, the way the author handled her dad could have been more in detail and just more expanded. I think that would give the story more depth and more emotion. Had the author turned the danger into a kidnapping or something like that, I think the plot would make for a more interesting read. But that doesn't mean that the story isn't great, because it is. I jsut wished for more, that's all.

I think Alexa Riley fans will like it. It's not your typical AR book but it has the smut, safety and loyalty that we all love in AR books. And of course it's too short, soo... :)

4 FLIPPING STARS

"I want to protect her and make sure no one will ever hurt her again. I feel a rush of anger that life has dealt her these cards." Are the thoughts that Mason our hero has as he sees a very injured Tess our heroine for the first time.
Now Tess is a young gymnast who is critically injured in an traffic accident. The same accident that claimed the life of her mother. Mason is the doctor who saves her life and feels a very strong urge to protect and cherish Tess.
However, he is her doctor and he wants to keep it professional between them and not endanger his career. Which is what he would be doing if he acted on his feelings according to some random nurse at the hospital, who has her own agenda here of wanting the hot doctor for herself.
The story progresses as he fights his growing "inappropriate" (not really) feelings for her and dismisses her from his life.
NO VISITS NO CONTACT NOTHING FOR TWO YEARS.
Tess is facing an uphill battle with her recovery and wants to become the great gymnast that she once was. And she would have to do this alone. This is why I could not give it 5 stars. The hero's main concern should have been his patients care and recovery, not his career.

I know this is not realistic, but this is romance, so I want romance.
description

Personally, I would have liked more interaction between the two main characters and more information in general (details as to why).
However, all those issues disappeared for me when we got some hot sex scenes and when the writer included and EPIC EPILOGUE 8 years later...I LOVE that.
description
Generally, I enjoyed this book and would read more books from this author in future.

Hot Doctor

Meets Hot Gymnast

Dr. Mason Black is a ER Dr who meets Tess due to a sever accident Tess was in that almost killed her and did kill her mom. He looks into her eyes and becomes lost...

He starts spending a lot of time with Tess, visiting her, bringing her gifts showing her more attention than any other patients. A nurse notices and scares him to think he's career is in jeopardy so he bails on Tess.

Two years pass by and Tess has had enough of his silent treatment so she contacts Mason and invites him to see her gymnastics meet. He can't deny her anymore so he attends, drama unfolds and they live HEA.

I liked this story but there were things I wish the story would have had. More detail with her shady father and his ruthless friends. The sex scenes could have been steamier, I wanted more passion. Maybe more background of both characters and how she ended up hurt. It also ends abruptly but there is an epilogue and that it's cute, you get closure.

3.5 stars. I see a lot of potential in Fiona Blake's writing. I loved the storyline and the taboo aspect of their relationship. I wish things had been fleshed out a bit more. I also wish Mason hadn't fought his feelings quite as long. Luckily we have dual POV though that allows us to know his feelings for Tess. It has a lovely epilogue allowing us to see into their future which I loved. So many authors are not doing this now but Fiona did a beautiful job. All in all this was a good read and I look forward to more from this author in the future.

3.5 Physical Stars!

The Physical is a fun, short and sexy read by Fiona Blake, a fairly new author on the scene. This being the 2nd book she has published I was really impressed with her writing. It was mature and it wasn't the same story you read over and over. I did have a bit of an issue with the 2nd part of the story that kept this from being a full 4 star for me. I feel the need to say it's unusual for me to 5 star a short novella. Short novellas rarely have enough content for me to consider it 5 Stars. That's on me, not the author.

I'll break this down into three parts because that's how I viewed it. The first half of the story was the introduction to characters and the growing attraction between the couple before they were separated for 2 years. This was spot on for me. I loved getting to know Mason and I what I got to know, I really liked! We got to know more of Mason than we did of Tess. Most was in Mason's POV and he meets Tess when she comes into the ER unconscious from an accident. Despite not much information on Tess, I still felt the story flowed very nicely.

The second part of the story is the one I had a bit of a problem with. To be honest the 2nd part, after the 2 year separation and before the epilogue was a bit of a struggle for me. I loved the reintroduction of Tess and Mason. I was wondering how the author could bring them together and still feel natural. She hit that spot on!

Once they got reintroduced there were three issues with this section of the story. I felt Mason protesteth too much. The moral issues in the beginning were no longer there. I think the author would have benefited more if she made their reunion hot and heavy form the start of that point.

2nd, was when Mason and Tess finally started to get physical. Up to this point the story was very maturely written, however, the sexy times did feel a bit immature. I'm just not a fan of cheesy oneliners but I do know they are used a lot in the short, hotter stories.

3rd, It was just a little too rushed. The first half of the book was great. Yes, it took a bit for them to come together but it flowed so nicely and I was really feeling the characters. When you rush, you lose that. In short, I'm afraid people will focus on the fact that they didn't get all hot and steamy until the end of the story. I think if the author took a bit more time for them in the 2nd half, not only would this story flow better and more naturally, but then you wouldn't have them getting hot and steamly at the end but rather the middle of the story. We needed more of them together in a relationship and more about the evil plot of the father.

Overall, the author is one to look out for. I really think she will hit it out the park if she goes for the longer stories. She's proved how good she is when she takes her time with the characters and story line.

The Physical by Fiona Blake is a short, steamy doctor romance book!!!! For all you medical romance drama junkies, this quick story might be for you. Doctor and patient romance...yes please!! As much as I liked the blooming relationship between these two, I did feel that Fiona needed to work on her transitions of the timeline of the story. The sudden jump from two years ahead after the meeting felt a bit rushed for my taste especially knowing this book is a short read. The concept and premise of the story I like but the sudden quickness of how things got wrapped up was the reason why I couldn’t rate this book higher. Overall, it’s a quick good read.

3.5 "HOT FOR THE DOCTOR"stars.

The Physical is a romantic-steamy short story that will have you wishing to get sick just to have Dr. Blck taking care of you. LOL.

After his last deployment, Mason Black is back to Chapel Hill, his hometown, where he works as a Doctor in the ER. He's a total lone wolf. His only friend is Sam, his Australian Shepherd.

Mason's dating life has been a waste of time. No one of the girls he had been dating has lit up his passion, well not until he lays eyes on Tess Delacroix.

Tess and Mason meet in the ER. Not how you would wish to meet the “love of your life” hell NO!

The instant attraction Mason feels for Tess is like a punch on the face. Bringing out in him a fiery protectiveness that he hasn't felt before for anyone. A feeling that makes him promise himself to do everything in his power to save her life.

After a fatal crash accident that literally wheeled Tess toward Mason, she wakes up in a hospital bed alone, surrounded by pain and with a career as a gymnastic torn apart.

I did like Tess a lot. She was this strong-willed young girl with a fearless heart that wouldn’t give up against anything. I do however miss a bit more depth in her character.

Ok back to the story.

Mason can't keep away from her no matter what. He knows is wrong. Forbidden. Against the rules. Not only because she way younger than him but because he’s her Doctor, and not any Doctor, no, he’s the one who saves her life. And any kind of relationship between them was out of limits.

A friendship forms between them. But then, he decides things can’t happen and BAM! He stops visiting her and a week after that she is released. Hasta la vista, baby.

2 years pass and nothing. No contact. N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

I feel like this “separation” was unnecessary. I get why the author did it though, but to not mention what happen to them during that lapse of time make it felt a little jarring to me. Then, when they “get back together” there is not only the I-am-your-doctor-you-are-my-patient-and-I-am-older thing but also her dad. Who was a piece of shit. A situation that in my opinion required more digging.

So they "get back together." And was happy for them but… The relationship between them needed more build up. It screams "Dates" "Fights" "Long talks on the Phone" That kind of stuff. It feel rushed :/. Hence, my but….

But then I read the epilogue!!!! Andddddddd, *awwwwwww*. The author definitely get a lot of brownie points for it. I loved it!

Bottom line, The Physical is a filthy but sweet romance with a sparkle of forbidden that will leave you with a smile on your face. Ideal for readers who are up for fast-paced, short romances.

I’m definitely keeping an eye out for Ms. Blake’s next books.

3.5 stars.

I liked the book. The story was great. People who don't mind a quick read should definitely try this one. I liked two facts about this book. First, the two-year time lapse was necessary and the author handled it beautifully. Second, Mason has the most needed control power which sometimes other novella Heroes lacks.

I would have appreciated the book more if there were more interaction between Tess and Mason or if there were more details.

I am glad the author wrote an epilogue because, without it, I always feel a book is incomplete. The epilogue was really sweet.

The story has great potential and that's why I feel the author could have written it as a novel.

It's the second book of Fiona Blake and I think she did a pretty good job as a newcomer. I didn't read her debut novel ( Emerald Island ) but after this one, I would like to try it definitely.

Dr. sexy Mason and Tess. Tess is in need of rescuing and not just because she's in Dr. Mason Black's ER after a car accident. But she's too young and she's a patient. Mason who has been drawn to her as she recuperates, gets cold feet and two years pass before they meet again. Tess has not forgotten him and sends him an invitation to see her perform. She is well on her way to achieving her dream of winning an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics. It's a pretty bare bones story. Not enough pages to flesh it out and so the ending felt very rushed (yet there's a nice little epilogue). Still, I liked the characters and enjoyed it as a sweet amuse bouche between longer reads.

****ARC received in exchange for an honest review ****

I am totally on board with all of the older man/younger woman themed books popping up right now.

Mason, an ER doctor and former military,  was a pretty solid hero.  He was not a manwhore.  In fact,  there wasn't much mention of a sexual past at all.  He is very dedicated to his job, so when he is attracted to one of his young patients (she is 18) he is conflicted.  He visits her and starts to spend time with her and when a nurse mentions it,  it spooks him and he doesn't go back to see her.

Tess was a great heroine.   She is a competitive gymnast and is devastated when she is in a crippling accident that nearly ends her career.   She is moody and angry but lets her guard down with the young doctor who keeps showing up to see her.   When his visits abruptly ends,  she is very hurt.

Now,  2 years have passed and they are brought together again.  Will they finally give in to their feelings it will Mason push Tess away for last time.

I thought this was a pretty good read, especially since this was one of the first books by this author.   I appreciate that the hero wasn't portrayed as a manwhore and there wasn't cheating or ow /om drama.

I did feel that the pushing away aspect was pretty long for such a short book.  For me, there was not enough couple time.  I would consider the steam level on the milder side, with only one sex scene.

There was a good epilogue that was 8 years out that wrapped up most of the loose ends of the story.

~4,25~ stars from me!!!

A very sweet, enjoyable doctor/patient romance story, I love reading this kind of erotic romance plots with older heroes and younger heroines and well so far i haven't read a doctor romance plot so i'm really excited for this first one for me.. it is a quick and enjoyable read with very interesting, fun dialogues and of course there is lots of sexiness by having Dr Mason Black and the sweet yet sassy Tess. I definitely loved the hot scenes even though i'd love if there were more of them but either way this story really won me so yeah that's something really from personal perspective.

Mason will fall instantly for her and will struggle with his conscience about her being young and him feeling the bad guy by having these type of thoughts for her, Noelle on the other hand may be young but her sassy and passionate character shadows everything making her appearing more mature the perfect match for Dr Sexy!!

Generally this book was very fun, enjoyable and interesting to read from a new author and shows a lot of potential so i certainly recommend it, if you enjoy reading this kind of stories as much as i do then you should definitely read it and as for me well i'm looking forward to the next story the author will create!!

First, I wanted to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read her very first book. I'm honored to be another hand helping to create a new author!! Thank you, FIONA!!

Full SPOILERS!!!

Mason was an ex-army ER doctor. After the experience from Afghanistan, he looked at life quite differently than most. Nothing really surprised him anymore, not the blood or the excitement. He was also bored of all the beautiful women, predictable and mostly shallow. Then a certain patient came. Tess was heavily injured 18-year-old gymnast. Mason saved her but she also left a mark on him. He was attracted to her. Even more when he got to meet the beautiful girl and saw her vibrant and feisty personality. However, she was too young for him and being a doctor, it was probably illegal to even think about the attraction he had. In the end, he parted way with her. 2 years later, surprisingly and unexpectedly, Tess invited him to her competition. After 2 whole years, she had made her comeback and wanted the doctor who saved her life to witness her recovery. Mason, aware that he still had the attraction toward Tess, decided to go. After watching Tess competed in the competition, Mason was once again impressed by her will and her beauty. Knowing that his attraction was borderline illegal, he left just before Tess was done. Surprisingly, Tess stopped him as he was leaving. She was angry when he tried to leave but she was still in the competition so she went back to it with anger. Mason felt bad for leaving and offended her that he came back after a few days to apologize. Tess ended up invited him for dinner. The dinner turned into a quick seduction that Tess planned for Mason. Being a gentleman with existing conscious that he was, Mason reluctantly refused her offer. Tess was a little disappointed with the rejection but that made her wanted him even more. Mason rejection aside, Tess had more problem. That night, Tess's father came back with his drug friends. And for the first time, Tess felt truly threatened. Her father was a drug addict but he was still her father. She never believed that he would let his friends do anything to her. However, that night her resolve wavered. Later, Mason stumbled across Derek, Tess's father and his group of friends. He was shocked and furious when Derek proposed him to do illegal drug trafficking and he was close to murder when Derek also proposed to pimp out his daughter to him. His anger overloaded when he also realized that Derek proposed to the same to his friend. He knocked them both out and rushed back to Tess's house. He was taking her away. Tess, hiding in her room was afraid at first when there was a heavy banging on her house door. She was soon relieved when it was Mason. They both gave in to temptation right there in her bedroom. Afterward, Mason swept her away to live at his house. And they lived happily ever after... Hmmm...

Review!!

OKAY!! Well. I have to say that this book is an okay read for me. Nothing bad but just not exciting or anything. It was a good and enjoyable read. The introduction was good. I liked Mason. He was a good character. I like Tess too, she had determination and I like that. The concept of the book was more erotic than romance for me. A little smut in fact which reminded me a lot of Alexa Riley's books. I would guessed that the book was influenced heavily by her style. The instant attraction, the big age different, the virgin heroine, the innocent seduction, the implication of wanting to own his woman by getting her pregnant, even the very impulse to take her away. The chemistry was questionable but definitely on fire. The sex was really good. I applauded the author for that. I didn't like that Mason wanted to plant his seeds in Tess and she allowed it. It was very Alexa Riley's style. Totally SMUT!! They both knew how determined and persevere Tess was with her gymnastic. It didn't make any sense to get pregnant because it would totally destroy her career. I thought at least Mason would continue to be smart enough to at least suggesting wearing condom or asking if she was on pill. I knew that the temptation was too high but Mason was responsible before. He should still be. Same with Tess. Gymnastic was her everything, she should not just gave in all to Mason and not care about ruining her career. Fortunately for them, she didn't get pregnant.

For a Romance book, I would also prefer to have their relationship developed more. More connection, more time learning about how both characters came to finally love each other.

The writing was good. I had the problem with the time skip though. It just happened so instantly. I thought it needed more plot-closing before the time leap and chapter change. The 2 year gap left too many questions unanswered. How did Tess recover and survive her drug addict father? The same with the ending when suddenly, the epilogue appeared. I thought there should be more. The problem was too easily solved too.

The story was able to complete well. Although I felt that the execution could really be improved. Some plots should be moved and revealed at other part but that was probably just my idea.

The overall feeling of the book was good. I enjoyed it. I don't prefer to read the book about couple with much age difference but I knew that it could totally work and Author did pretty well in my opinion and really have a great potential. Good Job!!

3.5 Stars!!

My first book by this author and I must say I felt like it was a bit of Alexa Riley and Fiona Davenport.

Th story was fast paced and very short, I liked the hero whom was not only a doctor but a soldier as well. The book was not very detailed on the h/h pasts but you get some of the heroines in the epilogue.

Strong heroine determined hero, fast paced hot sex, whats not to like?

Good job Fiona!

I loved this book. Mason makes me swoon. What I liked about this book was it was insta-love and there was no cheating. I do wish it had been longer and a little more action in and out of the bedroom. 3.5 stars. This was a quick, sexy and sweet read! This is Tess and Mason's story. Mason is an ER doctor who meets Tess when she is brought to the hospital after a bad car accident. Tess is a high level competitive gymnast and her injuries are extensive, requiring her to be hospitalized for weeks. Mason feels drawn to Tess right away in a way he never usually is for his patients. He is curious about her and visits her after she is moved to a regular patient floor. Mason is shocked to find out Tess is only 18 years old. He knows he should stay away from her, but he can't stay away. Tess and Mason both feel a connection to each other. But when he thinks his job could be in jeopardy because someone might have discovered his feelings for Tess, he stops visiting her and tries to get her out of his mind. Two years later, Tess writes Mason a letter thanking him for saving her life and sending him a ticket to her big gymnastics competition. Mason goes to see her and still feels the pull to her, but he is still scared that she is too young and he is not good for her. But Tess pursues him and Mason can no longer deny his feelings for her when he discovers she is in danger.

What I liked:

- The story was original and interesting. I liked the gymnastics aspect especially.

- Tess and Mason are a good match. Tess seems to have a sunny personality, despite going through a hard time with the death of her mother, recovering from a car accident and an abusive drug addict father. Mason is sweet with strong morals. He is not aggressive towards Tess and does not pursue her until he finds out she is in danger.

- There is a cute HEA and epilogue with lots of details about their future.

What I didn't like as much:

- There is an age difference but I don't know how much. Mason always constantly thinks about how young Tess is but I don't recall reading how old he was. It would have been nice to know since it was a big theme in the book.

- I wanted the characters to have a little more depth, especially Tess. There was more from Mason's POV so I understood his thought process more. I wish I had known more about Tess's personality. Also, we are told they spend a lot of time together when Tess is in the hospital talking and getting to know each other. I would have loved to read more of those conversations so I could have felt like I knew them better and felt more of the chemistry between them.

- The sex scene was a little crude. Some of the language used was a turn off. There is a lot of Mason throwing Tess around and some confusing choreography.

Overall, I liked the book. Mason and Tess are sweet together in the end. I just wished it was a bit longer and more fleshed out. I can definitely see the potential in the writing. This was my first read by Fiona Blake and I will definitely read more from her in the future.

The physical is a short romance that is easy to pick up and read on the go. The storyline is strong and the characters are equally is strong.
I really enjoyed this short read. I really liked how strong and determined Tess was even after all she went through. I liked Mason and I liked that he had morals that he stuck to, but at the same time?! I just wanted to shake him and tell him to stop being so stubborn! Once the pair finally get together it is kind of hard to imagine them ever being apart. - I very rarely get that feeling unless I truly connect with the characters that I am reading.
The epilogue is super cute and I cannot wait to read more of Fiona's work. Just want to add that I really like the cover to this book, I could stare at the guy on the front forever and never get bored.

After an accident that nearly costs her her life, Tess's life is saved by Dr Mason Black. After having a routine of it just being himself and his dog, Mason is shocked to find himself attracted to the injured beauty that is Tess and it isn't long before he can't keep away from her. But as her Dr and as she is only eighteen, Mason has to force himself to stay away. Two years later and the pair meet again, but will Mason let his stubbornness lose the best thing to enter his life? Will Tess be able to convince Mason that she truly wants him out of want and not due to feeling indebted to him?

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

Mason is an ex-soldier home from Afghanistan and is working as a Doctor in the ER. He meets Tessa when shes bought into the ER after a traffic accident. When Mason first lays eyes on Tessa, he can feel that something is different about her.

Mason visits with Tessa in the hospital and they form a tentative friendship. Tessa is a gymnast wanting to go to Worlds, but her injuries set her back. Mason is fighting an attraction to her but keeps himself in check due to the ethics of her being his patient. But when he finds out she's 18, he stops visiting.

Two years later, Tessa invites Mason to see her perform for her gymnastics and they reconnect. They move quickly into a relationship, still feeling the same connection two years later.

I thought this was a good read, but still room for improvements. I didn't really feel the connection between Mason and Tessa, although I did like the characters. I thought their relationship was a little rushed, especially after not seeing each other for two years. I also thought that the drama with the dad needed more time to fully develop especially as it was introduced late into the book.

However, I really enjoyed the epilogue and was a fast passed and fun read.

I love finding new authors and Fiona Blake will be one to watch! I really enjoyed this book. I love the whole doctor/patient thing!
Tess is a young gymnasts on her way to making the Olympics. She has devoted all her childhood on making her dreams a reality, until a tragic accident leaves her life and dreams in shambles. The only bright spot is when the handsome doctor that saved her life comes to visit while she is slowly recovering. She has just turned 18 and even after loosing everything she is determined to fight for what she wants most. Tess finds herself longing for his presence and dreams of finally feeling safe in his arms but fate and her drunk of a father seem to have other plans.
Mason knew Tess was special as soon as he laid eyes on her. She was bloodied & broken and he saved her life that day. Mason knows he should keep his distance but he can't help himself around her and finds the friendship they have made all he longs for. Mason struggles with guilt of her being so young and the ethics of him being her doctor. As time passes neither can resist the smoldering chemistry and love that won't be denied.

Can't wait to read the next book by Fiona Blake!

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

The Physical: A Doctor Romance is a quick romance featuring insta love. No one could pick Dr Mason Black's interest until Tess. He saved her live and her future. Yet, He couldn't pursure her as he is wrong for her on so many levels.

Fiona Blake has gotten the recipe right. What not to love about a hot hunky ex-army doctor who saves lives for living. Adding to this concoction is a sweet yet passionate gymnast. This would have made some blazing hot steamy love scenes. Too bad there is only one in this book.
There is one thing bothering me most in this book. The amount of the inner dialogues. From the beginning, Mason seems to talk within himself for pages before we see any action. I wish the author had spent these words on dialogues between the characters.

Overall, I like the storyline yet I think it can be developed better.

Ummm!! Calling Dr Black!!

And a ex- Soldier yes please!!...I really enjoyed this book. The characters were entertaining and very well written. I was hoping the story would have been a little longer, but fun and sexy nonetheless. And can I say how much I loved Mason and Tess as a couple. They had so much chemistry between them from the get go, and I love that between a couple. When its a smooth flow and nothing seems forced between them. *Side note: Love, love, love and eat up the hot scenes between them...WOW!!!
I so enjoy reading and getting to know the writing style of new up and coming authors. And Fiona Blake I can definitely say I see her giving us amazing stories/books to come. You definitely have a new fan reader here!!!

I was given an ARC in return for an honest review. Mason and Tess' story is wonderfully physical. The vet returning from Afghanistan is now a physician leading a quiet life until Tess comes into his ER as a patient. He's immediately drawn to her as she is to him, once she comes to. Due to his ethics, he walks away from her, but not from his desire. Two years later, they meet again and the sparks are even stronger, the attraction more intense and the physical chemistry wonderfully combustible. This is a new author for me and it was a down and dirty read--fast, intense and satisfying.

I am extremely impressed by this author. This is the first book I have read of hers and I got exactly what I wanted. A fast, quick read with insta-love. There was so must chemistry between these two that you could cut it with a knife. Hot, sexy ER Doctor that also served in Afghanistan has all the nurses wanting to be the next his next patient but he spots a black haired beauty who also happens to be his patient and he can't get her out of his head. If you are a fan of Alexa Riley and Fiona Davenport's books then you should give this one a try. Great job!!

Oooh a hot and dirty quickie that reminded me of reading books by Alexa Riley.

Mason meets Tess when she comes into the ER after being in an accident. He immediately feels drawn to her but knows he can't do anything because she was his patient. Several years go by and they still think of each other. Mason learns that all is notas it seems and saves her and he goes all alphamale on her. It was a bit cheesy but I loved it. These kinds are my favorite guilty pleasure reading ☺

*thanks to the author for sharing a copy in exchange for an honest review*

ARC received from the author for an honest review.

I liked this book. It had elements that Alexa Riley fans will enjoy (Virgin, Monogamy, Love). I was expecting a quick smutty read and was surprised by the character development. Before the H/h get down to their skivvies the author lets you get to know Mason and Tess.

There are a few plot points with the delay in the relationship and Tess's father that made my read a little disjointed. This is my first book from author Fiona Blake but it won't be my last. I think if you give The Physical a read you won't be disappointed.
