Dealing With David: Helping Siblings Cope With Aspergers

Rate this book
In the first book, David is Different, Steven breaks down Aspergers to a level children can understand, including the Aspie, themself. Now, in Dealing With David, six and a half year old Steven explains how he interacts with big brother David in common situations. Steven expresses the difficulties he encounters with David's different way of thinking, and how he helps his parents teach David to understand the world around him. Last, Steven's detailed description of the differences and coping strategies lead to positive ways to utilize his brother's strengths to foster a closer relationship with David. This book is written for children as young as 5 years old, but can be used to help siblings of all ages better understand the Aspergers child and why they are different, plus suggestions of strategies that have worked for the Author and her family.
