Prepare to be ruined for every other man who comes after Krane

At the age of thirty-seven, local giant and semi-professional rugby player Krane Buchannan had spent his life hiding behind a tightly locked closet door with a wife as a shield and a gut full of regrets. Coming out may not have been his choice, but ending his marriage was. With an ugly divorce looming and a vindictive soon-to-be ex-wife making his life a living hell, Krane finds his once comfortable life in the small Scottish village changed forever. Unprepared and unwilling to admit the truth, Krane has some tough decisions to make

For years he’d felt dead inside, going through life but never actually living. He’d given up all hope of ever finding that one special person who would make him feel complete, but when he meets an attractive brunette with legs to die for at his brother’s BDSM club, Krane’s world is tipped upside down.

I’m going to ruin you for every other man. You’re mine. I own you.”

The heat and passion ignite instantly, scorching them both, and in the space of a few hours, Bailey became much more than a one-night stand. Every touch from Bailey was branded onto his skin, forever imprinted like the intricate ink-work covering his body, something which couldn’t be washed off or forgotten, but worn forever.

"Bailey was showing Krane how life should be."

Coming from entirely different worlds, both struggle to overcome their worries and fear of becoming part of each other’s life, but the searing white-hot heat which builds between them with every look can’t be ignored. With hesitant steps, Krane enters the secretive world of BDSM and Bailey cautiously re-enters the world he’s tried so hard to forget since the death of his lover and Dom. The world outside the club.

“Krane screamed power. Bailey could sense it simmering across the room and filling his lungs with his alpha aroma.”

There’s a sadness which clings to Bailey, and his unwillingness to open up about the dark secrets in his past makes Krane doubt everything, but he’s had enough of giving up and is prepared to fight for what he wants, and what he wants is Bailey. He just has to convince Bailey he wants Krane in return.

Krane is a standalone book included in the Knights to Remember series. Other books include:

Welcome to the home of bittersweet M/M romances which will leave you craving more.

Nicole grew bored being a supermodel genius who worked part time for NASA, and decided to take a break from helping solve the mysteries of the universe with Stephen Hawkins to write m/m romance.

She has a loving relationship with her hubby of twenty years, and has achieved a lot in her short life considering she's only eighteen. She has fourteen dogs of all different breeds, plus twenty cats, and when she's not tending to their every need, and solving complex math problems, she loves to sew and can be often found knitting in the garden, which she maintains all by herself with her magical green fingers.

Finding time to make all of her own clothing and master the kitchen better than Gordon Ramsey, she's also a vegan domestic goddess and can often be found cooking up a storm bare foot in her kitchen.

Okay, so that's not true, especially the cooking part, though I do tend to be bare foot and I swear like Gordon does while burning my latest creation -- and I still think NASA will be getting in touch. Any day now!! *crosses fingers* I could sooo do that job because I'm so obviously awesome, but until they do...

I'm a full time author of M/M Romance and Erotica, and somehow I have several bestselling books under my belt. I've been writing for four years, and I self publish all my work under Hidden Pleasures Publishing along with my amazing team of helpers in the form my cover designer Kellie Dennis, editor Jessica McKenna, and all of my beta readers and PA's.

I'm a wife to my beloved hubby and mother to two young girls, and I do in fact have two cats who I adore, but no dog, as the hubby put his foot down. I live in Leeds in the North of England and I love it, despite the terrible weather.

My men are all seeking what everyone is, true love mixed with passion and their own happy-ever-after full of laughter and tears.

I just realized I finished my reading goal with this one. So happy I finished it with a book I completely enjoyed. It was funny, a bit sad, and entirely entertaining. The Buchanan family is one to read about.

I've never been a huge fan of BDSM. I haven't read a lot of books of the genre. But books like this one makes me want to.

Has a lot of lust at first sight and hot sex. e___e

The plot: Normal.
It's refreshing that the Dom is the new one in this world. Usually the sub is the one who does the exploring. But that's it. Everything else is the usual.

Really liked Krane. Love a man with tattoos and a kilt. ;-)

The dawn of a new era.

His marriage truly ended when his wife caught him in the arms of another man. The gloves are off and Krane, semi professional rugby player and architect, finds himself in the midst of a nasty divorce. Now that he has finally acknowledged his sexuality, he decides it is time to move on. His wife however has other ideas. First, she blasted him out of the closet, then she gives away his dogs. It was the war of the roses all over again. Krane just wanted to taste freedom. Would he ever?

Complicated much?

Bailey lived a double life. School teacher by day, submissive by night. Since losing his Dom, he has been in a state of unawareness, neither here nor there. As far as he was considered, he was living a lie. A shell encasing something rotten. He knew whom he wanted, but the man had no need for Bailey after finding his HEA. Bailey is left in a loop, that is, until he encountered a man so far out of the scene, vanilla took on a new name. Too bad Krane was also brother to the Dom he really wanted.

Lust at first sight.

Neither could deny the palpable lust flowing throughout the delicate weave holding them together. Krane was an alpha male, but he was no Dom,and the waves he gave off left Bailey stumped, and turned on. One night of intense, over the hill and bring in the fans cause I am soak pleasure, and both were left wanting more. But there was still the fact that Krane was not a Dom and Bailey lived the lifestyle, he craved it. "I'm going to own you. You're mine... I want to ruin you for every other man." --Krane

Could you lose control over being given too much control?

Krane fretted that he would flounder in Bailey's world. Yet, Bailey knew was that his lover was a natural and with time he could be just what Bailey craved. The turbulence was real. The BDSM quality was outstanding and the scenes, out of this world. Krane fought his natural instincts, knowing deep inside that Bailey's way of life was not something he could indulge in 24/7. It took a lot to get these two to where they needed to be. The jealousy, the fights, the make up and the family who saw more than they did gave these two the balance they needed. "I knew as soon as I saw him that we had to be together. I held back, so did he, we cocked things up and somehow fixed them, but we couldn’t be apart." Jeez, pick this wet noddle up off the floor!

Drown in testosterone. Ride the waves of heat. Be delighted in the steps it takes to be happy. But for the love of all things holy, don't miss this helluva story. I could not put it down. I am asking for more. So unlike me, I saw that gorgeous cover, read the synopsis and knew I had to have it. And it was worth it. Another one added to that slowly growing pile of favorites.

Sometimes you need a Krane

Let's go on a tour of Scotland, searching for the Loch Krane Monster! There's nothing like a huge, muscled, tattooed man, wearing a kilt the way it was meant to be worn! This book runs mostly concurrent with Nicole Colville's book "Dominque". You could read it as a standalone but I don't think you'll get the full dynamic of Krane and Bailey, Jacob and Dominque, and their family. Krane has come out at the age of 37, after living in the closet while married. His ex is a vengeful witch, but we don't have to deal with her much. While visiting his brother Jacob in London, he meets Bailey at the BDSM club that Jacob frequents. Thus begins a highly sexual and conflicted relationship.

Both Bailey and Krane hold back a lot of feelings and issues at first and it sets up problems that eventually interfere with their budding romance. I did have the "smack that man in the head" reaction in parts. There's also the matter of Bailey's life as a submissive and Krane's dislike and lack of information about the lifestyle and Dom/sub dynamic. There's really no BDSM in the story, just a little bit of D/s, as Krane does have a dominant nature. The story is also quite sex heavy but the scenes are quite hot and the dirty talk is awesome!

Nicole Colville does tend to write a long story, with much detail and rich character development. It's not minutiae or unnecessary detail though. Her first stories about Sebastian were a series, put out over 10 books, with an intricate plot. Dominque's story was one book, loosely connected to Sebastian's, and Krane's story is intertwined with Dominque. We do get to meet a number of new characters in this tale, that I imagine will be in future stories. I really like these books. The language sometimes gets a bit flowery but these books are great modern romance, character driven and quite absorbing. Worth the read!

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

I would highly recommend that you read Dominque before you read Krane as there is a cross over and I had a few ‘aha’ moments remembering some of the scenes.

Krane is a huge character in all ways. A tall, wide and tattooed Scot who at the age of 37 has given up on his farce of a marriage and has plans to finally be honest about who he is but even that is taken away from him to some degree by the horror that is his ex-wife. Fearing what his small community will think of him he escapes to London to visit his brother for a few days. If you have read Dominque you will remember Krane’s brother Jacob and his very Dominant personality.

A visit to his brother’s local BDSM club, the diehard fans will know who owns it, brings him face to face with Bailey and BOOM do things get hot from that point forward – indeed from that very point as the bar scene is explosive!

Although the sex is good and there is that immediate connection they don’t have an easy time. The last thing Krane was looking for was a relationship but he can’t even begin to imagine Bailey as a one night stand. Bailey is a mess – having lost his previous Dom he hides likes a ghost in the club and has become a shadow of his former self. Krane awakens something long buried in him but he is fearful of loving and losing again. Another big issue for the pair is Bailey is inherently submissive and very much into the BDSM lifestyle whilst Krane has no idea where to start and is fearful of how much he wants to learn.

Their journey is often fraught and tense – there are secrets that spill that could very well drag them apart but there is also a frenetic attraction that keeps drawing them together. Nicole is a master of damn good and very dirty sex scenes that fit fluidly into the story – there were a lot of cheesy lines when this pair got down to it which I’m not a huge fan of but there were also a lot of tender moments that I was fully behind.

One last thought – Loch Krane Monster – hilarious!

Fabulous.

Warning - this book should come with a free fire extinguisher! That first scene, at the bar? Oh my goodness, gracious me! Krane and Bailey are a wonderful pair of characters who have to work hard for their happiness. There are plenty of glimpses into the life of Jacob and Dominque, also. A very enjoyable read.

Nicole Colville books are my crack of choice. Overly long and sometimes too OTT, they just hit the spot, without fail. I enjoyed reading KRANE, and would have rated it higher, if not for the insta-love. Always disappointing, that one...:/

Four and a half stars!
I have wanted Krane and Bailey’s story since the moment I read the scene from in the club in Dominique. Both Krane and Bailey were guys you could tell had pasts that hurt but you didn’t get the full magnitude of how and why until their story. They had some major obstacles to overcome before they could be happy together. Some made my heart hurt and others had me on the edge of my seat to see what happened. One issue they faces went on longer than I thought it should.

Bailey broke my heart right from the start. He was hurting so much and barely surviving. You could tell he fell for Krane quickly though he still had things keeping him from investing his heart completely. I adored the way Bailey grew in the story and slowly came out of his grief and his shutting out the world around him. He was such a wonderful person to know when he wasn’t hiding anymore. Seeing him settled in his role with Krane and how Krane takes care of Bailey’s needs was lovely.

Krane was someone that you couldn’t tell was hurting at first. On the outside he was just going about his life as the divorce worked through the system. But once he let himself go to feel he became passionate about his life and being happy. I thought his fear of BDSM went on too long in the story. I really enjoyed the scene at the beginning where he’s asking Jacob about his actions in the club and how to handle himself. It showed that Krane was aware of how things work to some extent and that he wasn’t as knowledgable about it. But once he started being with Bailey he pushed back too hard and too long about BDSM. There’s not knowing about the life, having ideas of how it works and what “mainstream” is telling you about it, and being unsure if it’s for you. But then there’s being a bit of a jerk about it to someone you have feelings for and want to be with. When everyone you know that is in the life is telling you dude you’re wrong”, maybe stop for a minute and actually listen to them and hear what they have to say. Once Krane figured out what was really going on and he was indeed wrong, I adored how he let himself free to want what he wanted and to have it with Bailey.

These two together are so good. I liked seeing them work out their obstacles and come together. There was a while I wasn’t sure they were going to make it. Once they did though, oh man look out! There was more sex than expected in the last quarter of the book. I skimmed a handful of scenes. However I really enjoyed the ones where Krane and Bailey were exploring new things and limits. Those were wonderful to read and so freaking sexy.

After reading this book, now I want more books. I want to see Bailey’s friend David get a happy ending, I want to see Logan find a happy ending, I and I desperately want Red and Nicholas’ story too. Ms. Colville always writes stories where I’m pulled in to the side characters and wanting to know their story as well. I hope there will be more in this world in the future because I will read the heck out of them.

Krane is the third book in the Knights to Remember series. It can also be read as a standalone and I know this since it's the first book I have read by Nicole. I will say that I now want to read Jacob's (Krane's brother) story which is Dominque. Anyway, back to Krane and Bailey's story...

Krane has been living a lie for the last twenty years. He might have loved his wife in a friendly manner but it was never true love. Even the friendly part was a lie for the most part over the last years of their marriage. They both knew this. He was never unfaithful but she could never say the same but he didn't really care. But now, at thirty-seven he wants his life back. He wants to be happy. What he didn't want was for everyone in the small village in Scotland to know he was gay. Not yet anyway. His soon to be ex wife had other plans. He had to get away so he went to London to be with his brother Jacob. He knew how it felt to come out and wanted to feel free while he can away from the village. What he didn't expect was to meet Bailey. A sub at a BDSM club that Jacob frequents as a Dom. He wasn't looking for a one-night stand and that is what Bailey was going to be until the night was over and he didn't want to let go.

Bailey hasn't truly been living for the last few years. Outside of the BDSM club he doesn't feel important. He has played with a few Doms but nobody full-time. He hasn't felt that closeness towards any of them like he did with his Amery. Not until he saw a huge man with some sexy ink covering his arms. He wanted to know how far that ink went. He also wanted to know more about the man that brought him to a speechless halt. He has never been so nervous in his life. He wanted to climb this man like a tree but first he needed to speak to him. What he was expecting was a Dom but Krane wasn't one but he sure had potential. Only, Krane wasn't interested.

Krane and Bailey's relationship goes from a one-night stand to a weekend fling to wanting more. Bailey knew he was the needy type and being in a long-distance relationship would be hard on him. Not to mention, it being with someone outside of his lifestyle but he was falling for Krane. And Krane for Bailey. But to make this work, they have to communicate and not just in bed. Krane has his life in Scotland and Bailey has his insecurities. They also have a link to each other that could ruin everything if they let it. They also need to lockdown the BDSM part of the relationship. Krane doesn't fully understand the lifestyle and doesn't want to hurt Bailey. It also brings out his own insecurities. Can Bailey show him that exploring the lifestyle would be best for both of them?

I really liked this book. Who wouldn't enjoy a hot, tatted Rugby playing architect that lives in a beautiful village. Then add in a sexy teacher that wants to be loved. Together, they have some very sexy times, heart to heart concentrations, and not only find out about each other but about themselves. It was also great that it wasn't just about Krane and Bailey but about family too. His family is large and a bit crazy but so much fun!

Overall... it was a great read. The storyline was awesome. The characters were well-developed. I wish I could have read it faster but life got in the way. Good things but still.

Quotes:

“I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere for fear of ending up strapped down with someone flogging me.”

“I could quite easily spend my entire life worshiping you and still not have enough time to devote to you.”

“My Lord does have a certain ring to it, don’t you think?”

*** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review.***

Krane is Book 3 in Nicole Colville's Knights to Remember. Krane is a middle age man who is very set in his ways. He's been married to a woman for almost 20 years, he's an architect, plays rugby, hangs out with his friends, loves his family and his dogs. And he realizes that he's almost 40 years old and has settled and that neither he nor his wife is happy. Krane struggles to figure out what to do with his life and heads to London to spend time with his brother and get away from his small village. While in London, his brother Jacob (from Book 1) takes him to his members only BDSM club. While Krane is in the club, he meets sub Bailey and is entranced. Bailey had come to the club looking for Jacob but can't take his eyes off of Krane. When introduced to each other, they can't keep their hands off each other. From their first moment together, their bodies control them and they can't walk away from what they've found in each other, even if it's nothing they've been looking for.

There's a lot that needs to be said about this book, but I think the most important thing, is this book was a freaking scorching ten-alarm fire hot! Seriously, I can't even think of enough words to describe how hot this book is. The sex scenes between Krane and Bailey were burning up the pages from the instant they met and only became hotter! And seriously, Loch Krane Monster is something to be appreciated!

Now that we've gotten that out of the way... I haven't read Book 1 in this series, and you absolutely can enjoy this book without reading it, but seriously after reading this book, I think all of us should read everything Nicole writes! The characters were so well written. Krane was a giant of a man but the inside did not reflect the outside. He was a mess of insecurities and in my opinion, he took the easy way out of situations to avoid conflict. Bailey was a needy sub, who had struggled since his Dom had died. He's a school teacher for young children but felt that the only part of his life that mattered was what happened in the BDSM club. He didn't have relationships, or friendships, out of that safe area. The attraction and need that they felt for each other forced them both outside of their comfort zones, and make them evaluate what is important in their lives.

I love Krane and Bailey and their story! This book will be one that I read many times!

Firstly , what l love about this author is that , not only does she serve a great main course, but a lot of sides too .....
The sex scenes are very intense and very hot .....
l love the always present humour , Krane's dogs Hamish and Hamlet , the name for his beloved penis "TLKM " , and the banter between his family , especially his no nonsense mother and sisters .....
There is so much depth to this story , each character has so much heartache in their past , which the author takes time to explore and explain ...
When Krane and Bailey first meet the heat goes from zero to a hundred instantly OMG !!!! Then, we get to as watch as they each battle with their own demons and insecurities, till they figure out they love one another .....
This story is beautifully written ,at times fragile and heartwarming and at times infuriating . Funnily, my favourite parts were all the dirty talking by my big man Krane and his reaction to all the new scenarios he gets to experience with Bailey ....
l would recommend this book to all M/M lovers .

So much better than where I expected this story to go!

Going into this book, I was worried that Krane would try to train to be some kind of hard-core Dom for Bailey and end up being even more into the lifestyle than Jacob; which just struck me as out of character from Dominqe's book. I was very glad that Nicole didn't take this story there at all.

I thought that Krane was being willfully obtuse several times in this book as he resisted even learning about BDSM, especially since it made up such a huge part of Bailey's life. I was also surprised how little Mel was in this book considering that she was so vindictive. It's like she was there and then, without any real resolution, she disappeared and was never mentioned again.

While I liked Bailey and Krane together, I found it interesting that everyone, including Bailey, thought that he needed someone who was 24/7 and got someone very different.

4.5 ... filled with a few (lot) of my buzz words I enjoyed this book as much as I thought I would, a few missing or out of place word had me pulling away a bit (and I prob noticed them because of the type of reader I am, slower) and the fact that his evil ex just seems to be all show at the start then kinda disappeared when she doesn't seem to be that type of person, had me holding question as the book ended, but all in all I loved it. Like it already on my most reread list and I'm only just finished.

The funniest part, being as this is my first book by Nicole, is that I am fully aware that I would hate Jacob. Which is good as I've never had any intention of ever reading his book, clearly there was something in promo that told me he'd end up the type of person I can't stand. It's not his fault and prob a great show of the author that I feel it, but I cannot stand that personality type, at all. In any format.

I have just finished and I am in awe with Nicoles writing .......
Great story line ....
I laughted so much throughout as so many light hearted moments ......

naturally they got down and dirty .. haha
So well written Krane's family is a family to wish for .
Kranes mum was a riot I could see Bailey blushing as she asked him how big her son was !
I was cracking up reading .......
I really can't praize this book enough as it was everything I needed all in one book......
I adore all Nicole's charactors easpecially her subs .............. they are beautiful inside and out.
The love and caring Krane shows is awesome- I was crying with love .
Their banter between themselves is second to none .

The sad and caring parts (there are many) Nicole writes with much ease.
Such a beautiful book where dirty talking is magnificent the double meanings are perfect.

Well damn...I found a new author I need to read more of. Loved this story...the only reason I knocked it down a star is there is a scene that still is a head scratcher to me involving the brother, Dom Jacob that I just didn't understand and really didn't make since to me.

Nonetheless for my BDSM MM readers should also note this really isn't a BDSM...just a couple exploring and learning Dom sub role in a new relationship. There were a few scenes at the club, but nothing unusual...really just public sex. I mean FSOG was more BDSM than this

Krane, Krane, Krane! I have been waiting for this story to come out after reading Dominque. It did not disappoint! It was a sexy, well-written read. I would definitely read Dominque before reading this one or concurrently as they take place at the same time. It was nice to see Krane get his HEA and to get a glimpse into Jacob and Dominque's life. I hope David and Gabriel have their story in the future!

So I absolutely loved both characters and the plot overall. What I didn't love is the BDSM. To me it seems the author didn't do much research into the life style. After reading authors who either extensively research or live the lifestyle this bothered me some. However, not enough for it to ruin the book for me.

This was a good read, not sure I liked it as much as the first, I still don't like reading the 'event' with Jacob and Bailey with Dom and Krane watching, I felt it unnecessary but that's just my opinion. There was obviously a time frame cross over from the second book, but it was from Krane and Bailey's perspective not Jacob and Doms.

Oh Krane!!

Ms. Coville did not disappoint. This book had some bdsm light not heavy just enough if that is not your interest. Krane is just awesome and he and Bailey are explosive together. But it's not all fireworks both have heavy baggage and there is some conflict that they must navigate through.

Loved. This series us great. I read all nicole collville. Her erotica is off the charts. Jacobs brother krane is big and sexy and in the closet married for 20 years and im glad hes finally out. He finds bailey on a visit to jacobs bdsm club and nothings ever the same.
