Spiritual awakenings, whether quiet and subtle or dramatic and breathtaking, are deeply personal events. More than half of us have undergone a spiritual transformation, each unique and life-changing. We may only have a moment or two to act or we may have a few months to sort things out. We may curse the gods or sink to our knees in gratitude. The circumstances vary but two things are certain. One, our life is about to change. And two, it's a day we will not soon forget.
Sixty Seconds is an uplifting collection of intimate, heartfelt stories from prominent people who graciously share their personal experiences with the profound. Their moving, life-altering interviews powerfully illustrate that sacred moments of illumination and insight are available to us all.
Reading Sixty Seconds is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories. The roster of storytellers includes Janis Amatuzio, James Autry, Echo Bodine, Joan Borysenko, Gregg Braden, Dannion Brinkley, Deepak Chopra, Francis Collins, Joseph Costa, Frank Deford, Marilyn Diamond, Larry Dossey, Wayne Dyer, Suza Francina, Tom Gegax, Andrew Harvey, Kathryn Harwig, Jean Houston, Robert Jaffe, Larry Julian, Don Jose Luis, Jim MacLaren, Dan Millman, Caroline Myss, Christiane Northrup, Dean Ornish, Parker Palmer, Jim Petersen, James Redfield, Rachel Naomi Remen, Peter Russell, Donald Schnell, Bernie Siegel, Stephen Simon, Malidoma Some, Esther Sternberg, Trent Tucker, James Van Praagh, Mike Veeck, Billy Vera, Doreen Virtue, David Wagner, Neale Donald Walsch, Barbara Winter and Victor Wooten.
Sixty Seconds: One moment changes everything By Phil Bolsta
These collections of intimate moments can change your perspective on life.
Phil Bolsta has done his homework and the interviews that he has collected gives to the reader many different ways of looking at life’s meaning.
In the same genre as the “Chicken Soup Series”, “Sixty Seconds” gives us glimpses of the afterlife, the unconscious, the NOW and most importantly the sacredness of the world we live in and the sacredness of all the persons in our lives, starting with oneself.
Phil doesn’t leave us dangling. After each story the author gives us information to further our search about the author and his/her way of life. Most have websites and you can find a wealth of spirituality and comfort in these pages.
Most of the interviews are from prominent figures, which have been courageous to share their stories with the readers. One of the most touching stories is from disabled triathlete Jim McLaren. Jim gives us the courage to change the things in our lives that need changing and not look back.
Hopefully in the future Phil will keep on collecting stories and share them with us.
This is a great collection of uplifting stories. Phil Bolsts has rounded up a very diverse group of people with very diverse levels of experiences but I was always looking forward to each new one and it was always something fresh and inspiring. Kudos.
This was a nice book to read a couple of stories a night too. I enjoyed reading what people with positive outlooks had to say about what has happened/is happening in their lives. Some of the stories didn't do much for me, but many of them were very good and they were all very short - just a few pages, which made them easy to get through -short and effective. I have even dog-eared a few pages to look up some things that interested me. Quite a few of the writers were from the MN area (as is the main author), so I look forward to learning more about htem and about what they are doing in the community.
