The information isn't bad but the book is insanely overpriced. It should not be this difficult to get relevant and timely information about how distributed, integrating AIS and ERP systems are typically set up. All the same there was some helpful material.

The vibe was completely off for the first quarter of Accounting Information Systems, and I almost tapped out. Then Ulric J. Gelinas Jr. pulls a switch I did not see coming, and suddenly I was reading on my lunch break, in line at the pharmacy, and in bed way past my bedtime. The scene on the bridge? Chef's kiss. The back half is stronger than the front, so the pacing isn't perfect. For readers willing to trust a book that starts rough. Pass if you quit books easily.

Ulric J. Gelinas Jr. has a real gift for the awkward silence in Accounting Information Systems, those moments when nobody says what they mean and everybody knows it. That's where the book shines. The pacing stumbles whenever the plot has to do actual work. Great for people who love subtext, rough for readers who crave action.
