Gute Weisheiten, nur leider falsch rübergebracht. Es ist zu aggressiv, zu wertend und anklagend. Es greift voraus, erzählt über die Fehler, zählt die gemachten Fehler vor, anstelle die Chance zu geben selber darauf zu kommen.

Just one of those books that aren't for me. I don't get along well with self-help type books and this one showcased all the reasons why that's the case: it had barely any plot or characters or rhyme or reason besides its message.

that is a terrible book. i have to admit, it reveals some truth about life and getting along with yourself and the world. but it's style is senseless, it lacks any story, true development or spirit. the way the protagonist is told about his wrong attitude is presumptuous and preachy. and some statements are simply misanthropic crap. i can't understand at all that this short story is ranked among the most successful pieces of german literature. i only managed to finish reading 'cause it's very short. don't read it, you will come into a very bad mood... (at least so did i).
