Claimed by both Muslims and Hindus, Kabir is one of the most popular mystic, poet-saints in India. Collected here are poems and songs chosen to amply represent Kabir's ideology, especially his thoughts on knowledge, devotion, ethics and social equality. The poems are presented in their original vernacular Hindi and English translation, along with explanatory notes.
The translator, Swami Brahmeshananda, is a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order and a former editor of The Vedanta Kesari.
very beautiful lines of poetry, Kabir should be celebrated by the people of India & Govt for showing us the Hindu-Muslim harmony and how we all with different beliefs can co-exist happily. Pure love, thoughts & mind. Named as a rebel by both sides of the religion, he brushed aside the caste discrimination (during 16th century), gave importance to all the sects of society, emphasized the need for being human, love, spiritual connect & knowledge. He's a reformist. An excellent read..
An excellent short book on Kabir’s poetry - classified neatly under various subject titles. What we had fleetingly glimpsed through in school, makes a deep impression now.
