Kenny's social relations model is a very interesting means to decompose variance components of targets, receivers, and uniqueness. The chapters are also fascinating, depending on your particular focus for your research and the work done on this topic as I 1994. My personal favorite chapter was on self-other agreement in personality trait ratings
