Yes, this book is 35 years old and about a Project that began over 40 years ago. What makes this book extraordinarily relevant is that it really shows that history is repeating itself. As someone in the space industry, I am aware of some of the politics and propaganda associated with the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion capsule currently in development. It's amazing that so many of the arguments for the Space Shuttle used in the 1970s (operational, fiscal, and technological) are the exact same as those being used today to justify the continued funding of the SLS. What is interesting is that so many of the Shuttle arguments turned out to be untrue. How many of the SLS arguments will prove equally untrue? My experience and math says a lot of them. I think this is a relatively obscure book, but definitely worth a read for any space buff.
