2.5 stars but I rounded up because I read it in two sittings, so i obviously wasn’t suffering while reading it.

Oh sure, the first chapter made me roll my eyes, and there were some typo type issues but heck yes, read this book! It's got well written dialog and characters you'll care about and well thought out plot points that includes interesting stuff. If holidays and work hadn't gotten in the way I would have been held captive and read straight through. For the record I don't give out five stars willy nilly...I'm looking forward to more from her!

David Majek and his sons are still finding their way 6 months after his wife was killed by a hit-and-run driver who was never apprehended for the crime. Then strange things start happening: a man in a fedora is watching the house, David's bank account is drained of funds overnight, and as David struggles to maintain his household, run the family business and untangle these mysteries, details come to light that threaten to tear the family apart.

I don't usually read suspense novels, preferring fare that is more character-driven. But I found that David Majek's character was quite well-developed in this novel, and it didn't take long for me to get drawn into the story.

Pleasant reading experience

This book is not a nailbiting action thriller. However, it grabs you with an unusual story line of suspense and mystery, and does not let you go until the last page. When you learn about the missing documents, you want to jump into the book and help find them.
And you would want to slap the trouble maker.
I recommend this book to all who enjoy family sagas and suspense dramas.

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. David is a recently widowed father of three sons one who is deaf, he is the CEO of a investment firm in New York. His wife was killed in a hit a run accident six months ago and the family is barely learning to cope without her. This book is a complicated tale of family, betrayal, loyalty, and forgiveness .

Excellent read!!!!

This story has it all! Love, family, greed, forgiveness and so much more. The story is about a family who has seen tragic loss and trying to move on without the one person who kept the family intact. Many plot twists along the way. Love of family is the victor. Excellent book.

I enjoyed the first two thirds of this story.

I was immediately immersed in this book and read it and liked it until the last third leading to the ending. The culprit was obvious from the beginning and most of the characters were believable and likeable. But I am sorry to say that the ending just wrapped it all up much too neatly and it spoiled the story, in my opinion.

Loved this book

I really got into this book from the first page. It was a real thriller yet it showed the interactions of the family and how they stick together during tragedy. Wonderful book.

Heartbreaking

This was a really good read. It was very sad, all necessary for the plot. I did find this book to be one of the best advocacy books for deaf children that I have ever read. This was a side benefit. I want to read more of this author's books.

Family

Family is where it all begins and ends. This is a story about loss and betrayal, jealousy and lies. White collar crime and intriguing plot. Not fast moving and action packed, but a good story.

Believe me

An enjoyable read, just didn't move fast enough for me and was predictable. A few minor twists that kept it interesting, but I was over thinking the situation. I would read the next it given to me.

I was part of this family from the first page! Loved it! Good story about how a family can be torn apart and then pour back together.

Whiplash

Right from the start I had my suspicions, mostly wrong though. Eddy was my favourite character. Really great story, everyone should give this author a go

An engaging story with believable characters that have depth. Elements of romance, mystery, a touch of the supernatural, and yes, even the world of finance. An easy read that keeps the reader wanting more. All the facets weave together into a wonderful story set in "real life". Jeanne's descriptive writing style stands out!

A Good Read

This was a thoughtful, well-written story. I especially enjoyed how well the deaf child was portrayed, and the honesty of the family dynamics. My only problem with the book is what I would call not enough proofreading. Several typos distracted me from the story.

Great read

So glad I of a chance to enjoy this book of suspense and just a small hint of supernatural from the heart. The ending was the absolute best conclusion. I look forward to future works, and recommend it to others to enjoy.

Interesting story

Lots of things to tug at your heart strings in this story.
Text had lots of typos and misplaced words. Cuts into the flow of the story and something I do not care for. Would give a higher rating if typos were not present.
