Welcome to the Puppy Place--where every puppy finds a home! Charles and Lizzie have helped lots of puppies find homes. But then they meet a Saint Bernard puppy with an unusual a helpless kitten! And this pair needs to stick together. Will Charles and Lizzie find a way to keep these two together forever?
I love the dog's name. Why is it though that everyone names their dogs Maggie? These are meant for younger kids, like 1st or 2nd graders. I like in the books how Ellen Miles writes what the dogs are thinking, not just what the people do and think. It makes me wonder what every dog in the world is thinking right now.
Cute chapter book for young readers who love animals. This is another book in The Puppy Place series by Ellen Miles. I believe it is the third or fourth one we have read by this author and I have another one on order for my daughter's Easter basket.
Emily (6 years old): The funniest part was when Maggie got her head stuck in the railing. People should read this book because it is funny. Mr. Baker finally adopted and I felt good because they got a home.

I'm going to be mean and give it one start because I feel like the kids were particularly pushy and manipulative in this book. I don't like the solution being forced on mr baker. also, although I have seen successful shop cats, you can't really lock a dog up unattended without proper facilities and even then, it just feels cruel. so no. I do not recommend this one. at all.
Lizzie and her younger brother, Charles, are in elementary school. They have a puppy named Buddy plus their family fosters dogs and helps them find homes.
Lizzie loves dogs and volunteers at an animal rescue. Around Christmastime, a box is left outside the rescue with a kitten named Max and a St. Bernard puppy named Maggie, who Lizzie and Charles foster. Lizzie and Charles are able to find a home for the kitten but not the puppy ... and Maggie and Max are so attached to each other that there's no way they can be split up.
Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Maggie and Max's points of view. It is the tenth in the Puppy Place series, which currently has 64 books in the series, and works as a stand alone.
I definitely liked this book. It just wasn’t my favorite. I do really like the puppy palace series though. It is like a less sad version of a dogs purpose books. I also love those books you should read my reviews and read them! Anyways, I will give this book a 3 1/2 out of 5! I do like it though! I would definitely recommend it to you!
This is a sweet book. The animals are cute and friendly. My children especially enjoyed the parts where it said what the dog and cat were saying. They found these very funny, and it had them both giggling uncontrollably. The book is simple and predictable, but an enjoyable read for young children.
